anyone else gonna be potty training whilst pregnant?

We have a potty and my dd likes to sit on it but doesn't really know anything other than that yet. She thinks it's a toy like her other toys.

I want to start but not sure how. A friend said to give her water and then take her to the potty 20 or so min later and just let her sit for a bit, read her a potty book while on it, etc. and keep trying until one day she goes. Then of course lots of praise and from there it should get easier. Is that how you all would recommend starting from the very beginning?

She says "poopy" when she either needs to poop or has already gone. So I know she is aware of that part at least. She goes and hides when she does it so I heard that was another sign.

But she is only 25 months, 23 adjusted, and this baby will be here in 4 more months, I'm worried that if we make progress now, it will all be reversed when the baby comes, so I don't know if it's even worth trying now or not. My other concern is her days of the week are a little crazy. Monday she is either home with dad or at daycare. Tues - Thurs my mom watches her, and Friday she is back at daycare. So I'm not sure how her schedule will allow her to learn. Should we just focus on doing it at home and once we have established some progress, then start working with the daycare to help her to go there? She is very shy at daycare and I'm afraid she won't ask to go when she is with all the other kids.

It took my daughter about 6 weeks before she was telling me when she needed to go. Before that, I was taking her every hour or so. Just keep going, they will get there eventually :D

Well, I'll for sure be having two in diapers, since my youngest will be 15 months old, but I'd like to have DD trained so that I don't have to change THREE diapers! She has a potty and knows what it's for, and loves to pretend pee, but when I take off her diaper and sit her on it, she just gets right off and is not interested. I've kind of been waiting for a sign that she's really ready, but maybe I'll just have to put her in underwear, deal with the inevitable messes, and see what happens.

sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat - training while preggers!

DS1 will turn 3 in November, and we're due in October - I'd REALLY love to avoid having 4 kids in diapers. just haven't started yet, though. he'll go on the potty for DH but just tells me no, and i've been so sick with m/s for so long that i just haven't pushed it. really don't want to have four kids in diapers, though, so potty training's a big weight on my mind...

good luck, ladies!!

Yup im the same Son is 3 in November! he pees in the potty sometimes but never does a poo hes only done one once and was terrified cause they never actually see the poo when your changing them. haha
