anyone else like me on xmas morning

ok so when santa has been and the kids are up opening their presents do you make them put all the paper in a blackbag before they open another present i feel really bad for making them do this but if i dont with having 3 kids the presents get lost under the paper

karl says i should just let them rip the paper off and move onto another present but i just cant

please tell me im not the only one who does this

i do that too when u have a few opening pressies its easy to throw things away by accident under all that paper

I don't do that, but my house is a total mess at the end @-@, so thinking I might this year! My dad used to do it every year and it's not like it ever ruined christmas for us, so I don't see the problem

We used to open pressie, screw up paper and throw it at my dad who would then header it into a black sack, then as my brother grew we used to do it to him, my nephew will probably want to have a turn this year, it gets the place tidy after every pressie but also is a little game too, Chloe loves tidying up so i'm hoping she can be in charge of tidying up [god help us!]

james i like this hon! he'd happily clear up after every present! amazingly my super-mad everything needs to be cleaned like yesterday doesn't kick in on xmas morning, i love seeing all the paper every where x

YES!! lol.. My dad wouldnt let us continue until there was floor space and he could see it! I like it like that because otherwise they run off when everything is done and we have to clean it up!
My girls are too young but we will clean up after them in the morning, when we get older we will definitely be making sure they do it themselves

My parents never used to make us clear the paper up, it was more a case of my mum enjoying us opening our presents and seeing the looks on our faces and my dad running around with the black bag trying to clear the paper as fast as we were creating it! and with 4 of us he had his work cut out!

we do always leave some paper out though, the cats love it!

Yes, we always put the used wrapping paper in a bin bag after we'd opened a pressie. However, we didn't open our pressies in one go, we'd open them through out the day. Which was nice as it meant we played with the toys we'd opened instead of opening them all in one go and not really playing with them, iykwim?

we do this we always throw our paper into the middle and when its getting big my mum will get a bag and chuck it all in, we did this last year for jesse and on his birthday its not spoiling the fun its just making less work for yourself later!

First Christmas in my own house this year, but my grandparents have never made me do that. Don't think I'll make ike do that either. When I was younger I used to love playing with all the wrapping paper.

I think thats a good idea for two main reasons:

1/ We had wrapping paper laying on our wooden floor & DS2 (about 2years at the time) slipped on it, hit his face on his wooden toy box & got a black eye

2/ You could accidently scoop up smaller pressies with the paper & throw them away

christmas day is the only day of the year that my house is allowed to be messy

the kids will open all their presents same with me and kev, then I will pick all the paper up and put it in a bin bag, I don't mind tbh cause you can't see my floor on christmas morning anyways cause of all the toys lol xx

we clean up after every few presents, have a big bag to put it in and then recycle. now we're all grown up we even save some of the nicer paper for next year my mum is a neat freak and used to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown after about 4 presents worth of paper on the floor

i do it, as in the past i have had to go hunting the bin for presents i knew i had bought that hadnt appeared. that had been picked up with rubbish!
