i threw my phone away last year and there wasnt even any paper on the floor :dohh: lol

ok so when santa has been and the kids are up opening their presents do you make them put all the paper in a blackbag before they open another present  i feel really bad for making them do this but if i dont with having 3 kids the presents get lost under the paper :dohh:

karl says i should just let them rip the paper off and move onto another present but i just cant

please tell me im not the only one who does this

I do that LOL .... and when they were smaller I used to make a list of who had given them what as well (so that they knew what they were saying thank you for!!) , which slowed proceedings down even more :haha:

I like the idea of making a list :)
I never know who got the kids what on christmas morning, might try it this year :flower:

My mum used to make us save the tags on the presents so we knew who had given us each one. Not such a problem now we don't have any grandparents left :nope: I do remember one year having to trawl through bags of wrapping paper to find a cheque I'd been given & threw away by accident. Now I'm much tidier!

Actually I am sooooo anally retentive that I actually keep three Xmas spreadsheets on my computer

One is a list of what I have sent/given people each year .....so that I don't give them similar things each year.

One is a running list of what I have bought in the current year, with prices, so that I can make sure that the kids get roughly the same amount spent on each of them, and the same number of presents to open.

The last is a list of what everyone received from whom, so that if I recycle presents I don't accidentally send them back to the person who bought them (or anyone who knows that person)

My mum and dad make me and my brother still do this now lol.. but now i am exspecting, and i wont be home this christmas as i am moving out with my other half this month.. and as baby is due christmas day... i am gunna let loose and let it go everywhere heheh :D part of the excitment i think XD xxx

I sort of do that, but i put the paper in a bag while the kids are opening their presents but dont make them wait until i've done it to open another present.

Wow Tattiesmum, that is super organised! V impressive!

LOL .... one woman's 'super organised' is another woman's 'total control freak' :winkwink:  My DH and kids take the mickey out of me for my lists all the time :haha:

ive always done this...my parents never told me to i just did it myself as i got older. To me it just makes sense to...?

Oh yes I do this, think i'd have a total melt down, even the idea of all that paper being ripped open and thrown on the floor is breaking me out in a cold sweat. Only thing I hate about christmas is mess, makes more sense to tidy as you go so they actually have the room to play with their toys.

I put in the bag as she opens but i only have 1 child so its easy. I imagine it would be tricky and exhausting with 3!

blah it is cos the toys are all over the room so it just makes sense to put it all in the bin

ohhh i might make a list of who gave them what

No, I'll just let my kids just go for it madly ripping open their pressies - I can worry about the mess afterwards.
When I was a kid we used to ball up the paper and have "christmas paper" fights and we'd hide behind the couch and use them as forts. Brilliant fun!

we used to all take it turns to open pressi's, so that we could watch and see what everyone had.(it also meant it used to take about three hours... which was fab) and we used to screw the paper up and throw it into a corner of the room where there was a black bag.... didn't usually get much in the bag mind!!
One year, we didn't do this for some reason and I lost some of my presents!!!

Nope I am like this too :dohh:

My dad used to do it with me so it stuck
