I'm currently cd4 on my first round of Clomid 50mg. I had terrible migraine yesterday all day and was extremely emotional. Luckily today it's just a minor headache. Anyone else going through the same?

Hi! I am about to start my first round of clomid.. unfortunately I am having to take provera to Jumpstart af. I'm eager to see how things go for you.

Why were you prescribed clomid?

I have had the most irregular cycle my whole life. I have maybe 3 periods a year. Apparently i am one of the unlucky ones who just almost never ovulates which makes conception virtually impossible!

I hope you get a lucky first round!

Hi! 3 periods a yr sounds like such a $ saver to me lol
But definitely a hindrance in TTC terms.

We've been trying for about a year now and no luck. All my tests came back fine..I've always had clockwork cycles..down to the hour I can tell when she's coming. H had the SA and that was also normal. I was hesitant with the clomid (I hate taking anything even for a headache) but decided to give it a try. If it doesn't work on this first try I think we might give up for a while...
Does the provera auto start your cycle or is it within x amount of days/ weeks??

I just started round 2 today, I get head aches too. I take two extra strength Tylenol with the clomid, seems to be helping! I'm taking 50mg CD 3-7!

Im also 3 to 7. My migraine was so bad yesterday I'm surprised I even made it through the work day. Today i had the 2nd pill and didnt have anything but a slight headache. Did you notice any side effects around O time last month? Was your cycle shorter or longer at all? I'm worried this is going to fubbar me all up :-/

My nipples were tender and I had a full cramping for most of the cycle until the very end. Just a few days before AF started i had zero symptoms. My nipples were tender most of the cycle too. Around ovulation I got pains in my ovary area and I had Lots of CM ( I didn't have CM when I conceived DS... Kinda weird!) I had blood work done on CD 21 and 23 to confirm ovulation. AF peaked her head in on CD 27 and then backed off for a couple days until CD 30. My cycles are usually 34-45 days long, so this is awesome!!! As long as you ovulate it shouldn't mess up your cycles! Either two weeks after you will have AF or a :bfp:!!!!! Now that I'm thinking about it, I was a lot more hormonal last month. Lol

I was very emotional yesterday and nearly cried when there was no Tylenol to be found at home haha
Can't wait for this month to be over!

I love how I mentioned my nipples twice! Bahahahahahah.

How long are you going to wait to start testing? I drive myself made last month. :-/

This is exactly me! I am starting Provera today to jumpstart things too, and then will start Clomid for the first time
I have had a terribly irregular cycle my entire life also with rare periods, and so far as I know have never ovulated.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that even with great cycles your system won't cooperate. I'd encourage you not to give up after just one try though, as many women need a higher dose of Clomid. The Clomid could also do it's job just fine but still without pregnancy, since you have about the same chance of pregnancy as naturally.
Provera is progesterone, and it works the same as the body naturally does during the second half of your cycle. So normally your body produces progesterone for 10+ days, and if you are pregnant it keeps pumping out progesterone to support the pregnancy. If you aren't pregnant, your progesterone level drops and you get a period.
So us messed up ladies, our bodies don't produce progesterone correctly, so we have to use Provera to act like it. I'm glad you don't have to use it also. :)

Hi I am about to start my first cycle of clomid (in a few days time when af shows!) days 2-6 100 mg. Our tests were normal, I had a miscarriage after natural conception last year. AF is regular as clock work and I think I ovulate but last time it took a long time to get bfp and it is this time and I have turned 40 so FS is hoping this might help. I have read lots about it but it is good to find this thread and I will be stalking it to see how you all get on :) Are you ladies having the scans to monitor folicles and the jab to ovulate?

It amazes me how I always seem to learn something new in this site every day hehe.

Morning! I was not offered any scans other than the cd21 bloodwork. Though I'd love to know if there's more eggs in there. We really can't chance more then 2 lol

Lol I noticed that too but figured you might really like them to give them credit twice :hehe:

If I feel any different symptoms I'll be testing as early as 9dpo. I have TONS of cheapies to get to rid of, I can poas my heart out haha

I'm sorry about your losses and the difficulties you are facing.

I just finished taking the 1st round of clomid on June 30th. I didn't really have any symptoms with my other than I did have hot flashes the first two days. I'm hoping it works after almost 2 years of trying and then finding out I have PCOS it can start to take its toll.

Are any of you using OPKs and temping? My dr. Told me to use them everyday to predict when I should ovulate so I have been, but for the last 5 days I've gotten positive results with no tempeture spike. I was just wondering if that has happenes to any of you or if that was normal.

Hi Everyone. I just started my 2nd round of clomid. I'm a little messed up one. At age 18 found out I had ovarian cysts. Had a huge one so they actually removed my ovary. I only have one. Fast forward to now, married and ready to have munchkins...after trying for about 6 months got kind of nervous. Found out I had more cysts on the one remaining ovary. Also found out I had fibroids. Have been to see a couple of gynos, one said it was PCOS, the other sent me for blood work, said my lutenizing hormones are normal, therefore I don't have PCOS. When I used to ovulation kit, I didn't ovulate at all. So both gynos recommended Clomid. Nothing happened first round. Been taking my temperature in the morning, so this month we're hoping for things to work out! But it is definitely discouraging...and difficult...and annoying when you get the "when are you going to get pregnant?" questions. Hanging in there though. Oh, the other reason I wrote here is bc yesterday, I forgot to take my day 3 pill. I usually take them at night. So by the time I took it, it was 12:30 pm the next day (today). Do I still take my day 4 pill today (in the evening like I usually do)? Any advice would be great. I called the doc but they don't answer Q's over the phone. (silly). I asked the secretary to please do so, so we'll see what happens. Any ideas would be great though. I haven't had any side effects, thankfully, from being on clomid.

May-

I actually forgot to take my day 3 pill this morning as well but I guess it doesn't matter since I wanted to take them at night anyways.
Can you take it later tonight so there's enough hours space in between? Or maybe just take it tonight and then in the morning. I was told if I forget to NOT double up and just wait.

When will you be testing?

I called the Dr and he said to just take it, but not take it again tonight as I usually would. So now I've just switched to taking it in the morning. Last one tmw morn. Then wait til I think I'm ovulating..plenty sex...then I'll test and hopefully good news! Should be testing the week of July 28th...unless AF comes...then no need.

I'm not sure if this is the clomid or what...but I've been having a baaaad headache the last two days and soreness in my upper back, shoulders and neck. Horrible!...but all for the greater good, right?...

Love your kitten picture, it's adorable! The doctor didn't say anything about monitoring this cycle, beyond charting to confirm ovulation.
We are paying out of pocket for everything, so can't really afford a lot of tests anyway. If this cycle fails I will probably ask for at least a few tests to see what's happening.

Thanks :) Yeah it is costing a bit for the scans :/ and the jab was the most expensive part of the drugs. We are just doing two cycles then ivf....though I am hoping it does not come to that. I am hoping the fact that the scans will help us time things will make the difference.
