Anyone else on 1st Clomid round?

So today is my last pill. I usually take them in the morning but I forgot day 3, took it at night, took the next one the following morning and I'm holding the last one till later.
The hot flashes are horrible, I feel like I'm burning up from the inside. On top of that I now have a horrible sinus infection, all I want to do is sleep. .... i doubt there will be any BD any time soon :-(

Ugh. I'm sorry you are feeling so miserable!

Oh, I was looking at your chart. Are you planning to take your temperature to confirm ovulation? My doctor was very specific that she wanted temps, and that if she had to refer me to a specialist they would require them as well. Just curious if your doctor was the same way or not.

Oh man.. That doesn't sound great at all! My side effects are pretty good this round. So far just a dull head ache yesterday.... I hope the hormonal BS stays away this month!!! My poor Hubby!

Hi. No temping this time around. I did it for a few months and it drove me crazy after a while, then I forgot to keep up with it. :-/

Doc didn't say anything about it either.

Temping drove me crazy too! Will not do it again unless I have too. I started spotting today and hope af will start properly so can call this cd1 and take first pill tomorrow.

The first day was the worst for me! I thought I was going to catch on fire from the inside lol

When will you be testing?

AF is full on now so I will deff start meds tomorrow, evening is best time to take right? Dreading taking them :/ I will get my scan day 12 I believe so have to ring hospital tomorrow.

What is it a scan for? I have to say I'm amazed how infertility and insurance work in other areas. We don't get anything unless we ask for it and then pay an arm, leg, blood sample, stand in our head, etc lol. ...

I wish someone told me to take them at night, maybe I wouldn't have been so miserable haha

Hope the next few days fly by for you!

Yay I'm glad AF didn't poke around about it! My doctor wants me to take Clomid days 3-7, did yours say why you're starting on day 2?

Yeah 2 to 6 and sadly none of this I'd insurance or health care we have to pay.

Do you mind me asking where you live that it's not covered? I'd go probably quit a long time ago if I had to pay out of pocket.

I live in the UK, insurance does not cover any fertility related things here (we do have private insurance). We of course have the NHS but the fact that I am now 40 in the area I live means I am not entitled to ivf. I was refered to the hospital after my miscarriage and my gp thought I maybe offered clomid but because I had been pregnant naturally before I was basically told to go away and do what I did before. It took me 10 months the first time and that would be fine if I was younger. The private fs tested my amh levels and they were classed as low meaning my egg reserve is low so I do not of time on my hands to go away and just try. We are very lucky to have the nhs and not pay for the majority of things, but for somethings it really is a postcode lottery.

I'm not usually one to get angry at things but isn't that a case of ageism? (If that's a real thing lol) I would think doctors would be MORE willing to help older women get pregnant faster and not turn you away.
What exactly is nhs?

National Health Service, our free health service. I have never felt so aware of my age till I started ttc and you come up with things like this and it makes you feel old. Yeah it is ageist. The other issue is if I had of been offered help the waiting list holds things up further, it could of took months to get to the point of been offered treatment. It is similar with the miscarriage, they are not at all interested in doing any testing, you have to have had 3 in a row. When I had my miscarriage I was asked how I wanted to manage it: let things happen naturally, medically (take drugs to speed up process) or surgically (erpc) and I decided to go down the surgical route so I did not have the distress of passing my baby etc. This was on the Monday and they could not fit me in for the erpc till the Friday, consequently things started to happen naturally in the mean time and my dh had to call emergency services as I was in agony that same night....I was sent home with pain killers. By the Wednesday I passed my baby on to my bathroom floor :( I still had to have the erpc after all the distress. So basically we are lucky to have free health service but it is floored due to government funding. I am happy to pay to get the right treatment, but at the end of the day I shouldn't have to. Sorry rant over! ;)

That sounds like such a horrid process, I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
Health care is all about $ in my eyes. Big brother has no effing clue what anyone goes through for fertility, let alone on a daily basis. I know I shouldn't complain, it could be lots worse I suppose. Still, I'm so sad you had to endure that loss. I couldn't imagine. ...

In other news, I finally convinced my husband to get rid of the nasty wallpaper that's been in this house since we moved in 2 years ago. Half of it went missing on a mad rampage when we first moved in lol. And since he's off aaaaaall week there's no better project than this one haha

Oh that's good....I hate stripping wallpaper though it will be worth it lol! I bet he is thrilled with his week you have planned he he. I am dreading taking these tablets :/ I am off the rest of the week so at least if I get any side effects I am at home.

Hi ladies, any updates??

where are you at in your clomid cycles now? any positive opks?

AFM, CD1 is today. I feel lousy, but excited that I can finally get the ball rolling on this. :)

Hi!

I'm 4dpo today and will be testing around the 25th. No symptoms so far, unless you count creamy cm, but I get that every month so... just a waiting game now.

I'm sorry but what is AFM? Aunt flo something. ..??

AFM = as for me

4 DPO, that's great! 10 days to go :)

Wahoo! The process is soooo long. I'll be working 12 hr shifts the next 2 days. Wish I could say it'll take my mind off of it but I'll probably be here lol
