Anyone on Clomid?

Ok so am I the only one experiencing sharp pains ovary region on both sides? It isn't constant and perhaps only happens once or twice a day but is this a good sign?

Getting a bit anxious as last month I ovulated CD13 and this cycle I am currently CD12 and there is only a faint line next to the control - I had to squint to see it

We are really going for it this cycle and if for some reason I didn't ovulate this cycle (I have ovulated both times I used clomid before) I would be gutted as it would mean everything has been a waste

Hi Ladies :)

Mind if I jump in too? My doctor just started me on Clomid this month.

I always get periods, however since my m/c last year my LP is shorter and my periods last 2 days instead of 4-5. My BBT's after ovulation are also lower than average in general (but they do go up). So we think I ovulate each month, but are questioning how strong my ovulation is, and whether or not my body is producing enough progesterone. So my doctor suggested Clomid to try to enhance the quality of ovulation, and give me a better shot!

Fingers crossed that it works! I look forward to chatting with all of you during our Clomid journeys. Your experiences so far have been so helpful to read. :hugs:

Welcome Killeen, I am CD5-9 with clomid and my FS told me to start testing on day 10. I usually O 5 or 6 days after the last pill.
I am going to have to get some extras from the store. I normally order 40 or 50 test strips at 1 time but after 4 months I am down to 3 strips lol.
Anyone know if the Dollar tree ovulation strips are good?

Welcome Killeen and Wanting! I wish you two a ton of luck this.month!

Killeen, you can start using OPK's three days after your last pill if you wanted to. I did 100mg cd3-7 so no advice there but Quinny had some good advice just a couple of posts earlier and Hope's post too.

So just one mini-nervous break down!? You're lucky! LOL

Wanting, 150mg off the bat! I'd hate to see my mood swings at that dosage! Good luck on your scan!

Meil, are you prepared for the possibility of twins this go around? :winkwink:

Oh god I don't know what I would of done with the 150mg lol. I have been noticeing that I am already more emotional. Like things will make me really sad, really quikly. Today we were at this school , well a training place because I wanted to get a different certification and the moment I walked in there my mood went from normal to pissy. The whole look of the place just depressed me and I just about started tearing up when DH was still ok with me going there.

hi girls--just dropping in and saying hi--im cd 10 today.....xxx

I have actuatly felt those mini cramps everyday so far. I thought they were just in my head so it is nice to know that I am not the only one feeling them.

Hugs and good luck & baby dust.

Baby dust to all. Lets hope we all get our BFP's real soon:thumbup:

Hmm.. Have you called your doctor? It is probably nothing but it would be good to have an ultrasound to be sure. I had twinges and a bruised/full feeling in at least one ovary around cd13-14 (ovulation on day 14) my last two clomid cycles but nothing I would call 'sharp'. I don't know if I would take the faint line as a sure sign you aren't going to ovulate soon. I am cd12 today too and my lines are nonexistent but I know they will be there on Sunday around noon. Try to stay positive, it is the best thing you can do for yourself right now. No need to convince yourself it didn't work before you give it a chance! I have been doing the same thing, telling myself if this month doesn't work, I am going to take a break but then I realize how negative I am being and 'try' to push it aside and give this month the best shot I have. I am sorry you are so worried.. but I totally understand. How long is your cycle? I am very regular 28 days. Maybe we will get our BFP together?!

Welcome to all the newcomers! Good luck this cycle!

Fiesty, did you dtd last night just in case?

Jamie, welcome, I was put on clomid for the same reasons!

Hi to the new joiners! Hope that Clomid works its magic quickly for you.
Feisty, I echo what Quinny suggested, maybe you should speak to a medical professional. Just to be on the safe side.
I feel twinges throughout my cycle, but I'm sure that I'm imagining half of them and the other half are just normal ones that I wouldn't even notice if we weren't ttc. Having said that, my first cycle on Clomid, I actually felt what I assume were ov pains. I'd never felt them before.
We're going out for dinner with friends on Saturday night, two days before the end of my cycle so am thinking I'll test on Saturday morning and if it's a BFN then I can go and drown my sorrows and drink without guilt!
Nearly the weekend. Yay!

Ellie, which dpo are you?

I'm 9dpo today, I did test today since I did the trigger shot and just found out last night that the hcg could stay in your system for 10-14 days so I just had to know what my base was. It was bfn so at least now I know if I get a bfp it can't be a false pos.

Morning ladies - today is my last 50mg clomid pill CD9 round #3 . My CBFM always starts testing on CD9 and it was on high this morning. Last month it was high on my last pill and I O'ed 5 days later. This month I also bought the disposable strips so I can test multiple times and try to catch O quicker. I did get my BFP last month but as most of you know two and a half weeks later it ended with a miscarriage. I am still getting over that but being able to try again so soon has helped tremendously.

I have a question for you all. Obviously there is no way to know what caused the mc, my FS called it a chemical pregnancy and said it was most likely chromosomal abnormalities. Do you think the break down could have been from the timeing of our intercourse? What I mean is because we got BFP last month I feel like I can time this month better by basing it on last month but I am concerned. Is it possible that due to our timing the sperm that implanted my egg had already started to deteriorate and that was a possible cause of the chromosomal abnormality? I know I am probably (as I usually do) over analyzing the situation.

Sorry for rambling everyone I am just afraid of having to go through another mc.

Thanks and good luck everyone on your own BFP.

Hopewho I don't think that intercourse timing has anything to do with it :hugs: Chromosonal problems were probably from an imperfect sperm, egg or even both. Please don't feel that it could have been prevented as there is nothing you could have done to make the outcome any different. I am sorry for your loss :hugs:

No odd pains today and my temperature has dropped to the lowest it has been since August and I can't see/think of any explanation so perhaps I have ovulated  I did an OPK again today after holding pee and not drinking for 4 hours and again it was a super faint line. After all your lovely advice I will just try and stay positive. There is no reason that the clomid should suddenly not work when it has been so successful before so it is pointless stressing myself out over it :flower:

Fiesty, just dtd tonight if you can, if your temp spikes tomorrow then you definitely O and I would just ignore the strips this month.

Hope, I have wondered the same thing. The first time I got PG I was temping and the only day we dtd was the day my temp already spiked and when I found out I was PG, that was one.of.the things that popped in my head b.c the internet says once.the temp spikes it's too late. And yeah, 30% of PG end in MC, esp chemicals and not everyone even knew they were PG and yeah it's probably genetic defect but I personally wonder if the early deteriation of an egg could be a reason too.

Thanks Feisty and Tigerlilies - I'm trying not to overthink this but it's just what I do.
Man I feel like I am about to take a big exam.

Thanks Tigerlilies :)

It's comforting to know that other people were put on Clomid for the same reasons as me. It made me a little nervous to be put on it when I know I ovulate, as I figured it wouldn't do much for me. It does seem to help so many people though!

hi jamie-- i ovulate every month and have normal cycles and i have been put on it for the first time..x

hi to everyone else...xx

im cd 11---waiting for pos OPK.....BD'ing every other day:)

Thanks Tiger but I am having a day off today as we agreed to dtd every other night (which should be plenty, the cycle I got pregnant we dtd two days before I ovulated and caught it) It has been a struggle to get DH to commit to this so I don't want to rock the boat demanding :sex: on unagreed days, especially if I am not ovulating just yet.

I ovulate normally as well. I have a really regular 28 day cycle, surge on day 14 (around noon) it is like clockwork. I was put on clomid because I had 4 failed IUI's and it is just the next thing you do! No real reason! It is pretty normal, but I was really nervous my first month too!

Oh, well, AF arrived (two days early, which is the silver lining!). Have to pick up another course of Clomid from the pharmacy today to start tomorrow on cd2. Hubby has said that we'll really go for it this month. Not sure what he means, but hoping that he'll commit to every other day. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Sorry to hear it Ellie.. :( It sounds like you two are in the right frame of mind to make it work, though!! Good luck! I hope your clomid round is uneventful!

I surged this morning and just got home from my IUI!! I am super excited!! The doctor said everything looked perfect! I hope this month works.... I will go in for another tomorrow to give it the best shot I can but for now I am going to lay back with my feet up and think happy baby thoughts! This is always the most fun time... when anything is possible..

How is everyone else doing?

Awww quinny, good luck :hugs:

Ellie, try and think of the :witch: as a fresh start of new possibilities :happydance:

Still no ovulation  OPK tests are slowly getting a tiny bit darker though so fingers crossed it should be soonish :happydance:

Ellie, sorry AF came, but at least your hubby wants to do more for this coming cycle!

Quinny, FX'd for you!

Feisty, darker lines are good! I hope it happens in the next day or two.

AFM, I'm 12dpo (and that's counting conservatively) and only bfn. :sad1: So I'm pretty much out. The test I'm using detects hcg as low as 25 so if there isn't even a shimmer of a line, I don't see how there's going to be. I'm not 100% I want to do another round of clomid. I didn't change my eating habits and gained 10lbs this past month! And I'm already a big girl. I even starting using my treadmill again 6 days a week for the past 2wks and have lost nothing, I mean nothing! I don't know if emotional I can keep going like this without any results. We dtd three days in a row like the specialist said we should do, used robitussin, used conceive plus lube, kept my feet in the air for 20min then continued to lay on the bed for another 20min. All that effort for nothing. I'm sorry, I know this is a depressing rant but thanks for reading.

sorry tigerlillies---love your avators!!!

quinny--fingers crossed this month
