I'm finding it hard to drive at the moment, I've only got little arms & legs but a big bump, so I've pushed the seat back as far as it'll go but with still being able to reach the pedals & steering wheel. But now my bottom of the wheel has started to push into my bump a bit.

I've been having to drive to get to work but luckily tomorrow is my last day at work :) so it shouldn't be an issue after tomorrow, but while I'm on mat leave I might want to drive somewhere, go shopping or visit people.

So I was just wondering if anyone else was still driving? Or should I try and talk someone else into giving me lifts or use public transport just to be on the safe side?

Obviously I'd never drive if I was going into labour or had any signs that I could go into labour :) x

I drove right up until the end! And while i was in labour LOL. Only early labour though. My waters had gone and everything :haha:

Really?! How did you manage to stay calm? :haha: I could see myself ending up driving like a right nutter :haha:

Did you find that you had enough room behind the wheel? I'm worried about the steering wheel pushing into my bump, especially if I had to brake hard or something x

Yeah i was rather paranoid about breaking and hitting the wheel and that but i just drove like a granny i suppose and my car had an adjustable steering wheel... though i cant remember if i moved it but it might help give you more room :)

I dunno how i stayed calm when my waters broke i casually drove to the hospital that morning to get checked, and they let me out and i just wasn't scared! I have no idea why i was composed, i drove around for most of the day sorting out the last little things! I thought i would be scared but i wasn't at all! i was sitting in the barbers with my OH 12 hours after they went! I was like oooh i can actualy feel the contractions now :haha: but seriously i wouldn't advise doing that, because they suddenly went from hardly being able to feel them to not being able to walk lol. Luckily i was at my mums by then!!

Wont be long and she will be in a car seat instead of in your belly :flower:

i thinki stopped when i was about 38 weeks, i only had a lil KA and it just wasnt possible any more lol, its each to their own though, luckly my MOT was due around my due date so my mum took the car from me to get that done and i didnt get tempted

ive not passed my test yet but i've got it in 5 weeks so i'll be nearly 28 weeks when i take my test eeeeeek, but my driving instructor reccomends not driving after ur 7 months :S ermmmm im nearly there now?!?!?!?!?! lol but when i start to struggle either my dad will become my taxi or i'll just get the bus everywhere, i get travel expenses from my college anyways so hopefully that will help :)

I drove until the end lol, was a bit of a nightmare though as my car is a right old banger and has no power steering :dohh: i was sure i was gonna put myself into labour by trying to heave my poor old car round corners :haha:

x

I had a KA and was hard and uncomfortable at the end so the last weeks I probably hardly did, if at all the last two I can't really remember.

I'm 39 weeks and still drive. My bump is so big and gets in the way :D but I have places to go and things to do, I really don't have much of a choice. I'm trying to stay in the house as much as possible right now though because I don't want to be too far from home when I go into labor. :D

thanks for sharing everyone :) OH suggested wearing platform shoes so that I can reach the pedals  x

I'm still driving! It's pretty difficult, though. My bump's all in the way, and I hate having to get myself in the car. I drive a Mini Cooper, and it's so low to the ground that it's hard for me to get in and out properly.

I drove right until the end..past my due date etc..and then in early labour (but just thought it was cramps!)...no idea how I managed it looking back though, it was REALLY uncomfortable! x

I'm finding it hard to get in & out of mine too, can't imagine having to do it in a mini though that must be difficult! x
