Awe River thats tough, Im over in BC and it sounds like it will be a few months before I get in to see a fertility specialist now. So the waiting is really quite hard. I hope the iui goes better this next round. Sounds like thats what Im going to start with whenever I see someone lol. I wish our health care system was just a bit faster!

Hey gals,
No insurance doesn't cover most costs. I am in BC as well. Our medical system covers things like ultrasounds and bloodwork, but not the medication or the actual IUI OR IVF procedure. I have work insurance which should cover up to $5000 of the meds, but I have yet to see a reimbursement for that.
So, so far this cycle we've spent almost $900 on meds, then probably another $85 for the trigger and $400 for the IUI.
If this doesn't work, we'll be waiting and saving for IVF I think.
Steph - yeah we had to wait 6 months to see the specialist after it had been over a year of trying. But after that things went fairly quickly. We had tests done, and nothing was found, so they put me on clomid to try, then when that didn't work, they said IUI. I think we started seeing the fs in April?
I started acupuncture in late August, work insurance covered up to $500, but we've gone well over that now....
Just hoping we get a better response this cycle, and get that BFP!

River thanks for the reply. Im in the SE corner of BC so I will be going up to Calgary to see a specialist whenever that is. So its safe to say around 1000$ per iui cycle then? This is all a little intimidating I think. I hope you respond well this cycle and get that bfp your striving for

Steph - really depends on the meds. Clomid was by far the cheapest, about $40/cycle. Injectibles is just over $1/IU, and they had me at 150IU per shot. The first IUI cycle they had me only take 2 shots, so it wasn't too bad. The second IUI cycle, they got me to take 3 shots, and this one 5 shots. Femara was about $60? to take, which I took instead of clomid for the IUI cycles. Sooo depends on how your body responds.

I guess I might be back in the TWW!

DH and I dtd on sunday night and didn't prevent, we didn't think about it and as I never ovulated before CD 23 we figured it would be safe. Well, yesterday I had *tmi* a big blobb of EWCM with a twinge of blood in it. OPK was negative every day though until today, today I got a strong positive..

We even had joked that of course this would be when I ovulate early and end up pregnant. And now the first part actually happened! lol

I guess the chances are slim with it being 3 days ago but who knows.. not sure if I O'ed yesterday, the twinge of blood and the pains make me believe I did but the opk wasn't pos until today.. so I guess I'll be here just in case.

We would have some things to solve with our church wedding but would be fine either way, we were going to wait but would be thrilled if I'd get a BFP now!

Mrs.Vet thats pretty exciting! I really hope you get that bfp this month. I know its going to change things with the wedding plans but thats okay to, you'll have a little one right around your wedding then!

I already posted in TTC this morning right before I had to leave, no replies so far..

As I said, the day before yesterday I had EWMC and a twinge of blood, yesterday a positive OPK. Today my temp is up but the OPK still positive. Did I ovulate or not? I always thought the opks are only positive prior to ovulation?

If I didn't ovulate yet I think we're out, not sure that the sperm will live for 4 days or longer..

Just took another OPK and I think it's still a light positive or a pretty dark negative.. for sure it's not a strong positive anymore...

Had weird pinches in my lower abdomen today, never had anything like that before.. here goes the symptom spotting! lol

On my opks, the test line has to be darker than the control line for it to be considered a positive. If the test line is lighter or not there, it is negative.

had the follie scan today, and there were a bunch of small ones 13mm-8mm, so things are looking good for the IUI I go back on Saturday to see how the follies are progressing, and they'll tell me then when I should trigger and go for the IUI procedure.

Hi ladies,
Mind if I join to. I'm 5dpo and having extremely crazy symptoms.

1dpo- mild cramping with tugging an pulling, headache, heavy thick cm
2dpo- same as 1dpo
3dpo- same as 1&2 with lower back pain, boobs sore all around and on sides
4dpo- same as above with veins more prominent in evening, get full quickly them hungry 30 minutes later
5dpo- same with veins extremely prominent all around boobs and up to neck

I'm losing my mind in this tww. Af isn't due until Nov 23rd
Anyone else feeling these symptoms

It says it has to be the same or darker, if it's lighter it's negative.
The first two were clearly darker, this one I'm not even sure if it isn't lighter than the control line..

So I will just consider myself 1dpo until proven different!
Which means we set ourselves up for an ooops baby! I still can't believe that the one time we slip and decide it's safe I ovulate early!

River-I took a test this morning to get it out of my system. I was losing it so I had to lol I knew it would be a negative and it was but I plan to start testing around the 19th or 20th and if nothing I'll wait till the 23rd or 24th if no af. Frequently urination is another symptom I forgot to mention.
