Anyone with Celiacs?

Hi CW, I have celiac as well, when were you diagnosed?

HiO:)

Just this past December I found out:dohh: I discovered I was Hypo thyroid in Sept and read an article in the NY times in Dec about a link between celiacs and autoimmune hypothyroidism and got tested.
I think I am on my way to being able to concieve again soon - I have better color (have been anemic as long as I can remember) I am taking prenatals, CoQ10, B-complex,Iron and just began dhea (for adrenal fatigue). Whew:juggle:
It takes awhile for your body to rebuild nutrient stores I have heard but not sure how long - guess it depends on the person - length of time ill and how much damage to the body.

What about yourself?
And
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Nice to see someone else with celiacs pregnant:thumbup:

CW:flower:

Guess a pretty unusual ailment for ladies TTC...

I never have luck posting things in the LTTC section - despite being a LTTCer

This is worrying - I must be alien:muaha:

Hi CedarWood :) I don't have Celiac's but have gluten intolerance (if have over a 20 igg gliadin test you have an intolerance and I had 96... with huge symptoms within hours of gluten).

The adrenal fatigue is something I'm sure i've had/have but has lessened since i went gf last october... but I have stopped doing in in past about 3 months though (came off becuase I thoguht I was ok again, and i hate the thought of doing it 100% again, even though I know I have to).

It's interesting how it's more likely to have endo with it too!

It is hard going 100 % Gluten free!
Cooking at home is ok - eating out is tricky:nope:
Where do you live - Australia, the UK, Ireland, the US and Nordic countries seem the best to be if Gluten free!

I have read up on endo but do not have any signs - though recently learned you can have it and not show outward signs....

It may be worth getting a TSH test. There is a link with Celiacs and hypothyroidism and apparently, some people start out with Gluten intolerance that grows into Celiacs:shrug: Though think that is with ongoing gluten consumption.

Mmmm... it is harder going 100% over 99% for sure!

Cooking at home I even struggle with at times co I enjoy using a few "wheat" flavouring ingredients! I'm in New Zealand so it's definitely a good place for it.

I "think" I've just had the TSH test done again. I've had it done a few times in the past, but no problems there. The tests the doctor I've been basing my testing on (world renown specialist in Chch, NZ, tested over 500 people now to see if his tests are accurate, and they have been so far), says that the gluten intolerance won't usually progress to celiacs (the antibody style intolerance), but I must say the symptoms I was having when on gluten (and on small amounts of gluten too i guess I have to admit...), were as bad as if not worse than some untreated celiacs for sure.
