Apparently we're pretty much done clothes shopping already...

I think you need more sleepsuits. Tbh i would say you have far too many vests and outfits too. x

We only have 3 little comfy outfits (sleepsuit type material) and 2 dresses.. is that too many?

If baby has a poop explosion, vests can be binned rather than trying to get stains out

4 more bandana type bibs bought :happydance:

I found that if you rinse pooey vests straight away with soap (normal bar of soap) and give them a good scrub they don't stain. We kept all his vests, stained or not until he was done using them. Won't be reusing the stained ones with this one though.

LOL I pulled out my daughters hand me downs the other day and I will need newborn size if this one is as big or bigger than sis was. My daughter never wore newborn size so they are all still brand new.

My favorite thing for the newborn stage were the gowns (not sure if they are called something different for everyone lol). Just pull them up to change a diaper and baby stays clothed the whole time.

(Also baking soda and dawn dish soap pulls out almost every poop stain. make it a paste and let it sit a bit. I also like to sun stuff but you have to watch it so that it doesn't fade)

You're only a couple of weeks ahead of me and so much more organised! lol

So far in Newborn we've got...
8 sleepsuits
3 short sleeved vests
3 pairs of leggings
3 t shirts
5 pairs of socks
10 bibs
5 blankets
2 sleeping bags
5 pairs of mittens
5 hats
1 quilted jacket
3 cardigans knitted by my Nan

Still need to get about 10 more sleepsuits, 15 more vests and 10 more bibs but I'll get those in 0-3.

I've got quite a few things in first size/upto 1 month aswell because my son was only 6lbs 10oz xx

I'm a FTM so probably not the best to give advice, but a few of my friends had newborns that went straight into 0-3 months, so I will be packing both newborn/1-2months and 0-3 month clothes. I have only bought one multipack (x 5) of newborn onesies and vests, and a few individual meaning I have about 8 full outfits for newborn (onesies and vests). I also live only 5 minutes from Mothercare so I basically wanted to have enough newborn outfits to get me through the first couple of days in hospital. If baby is born small I will get a family member to pick up another multipack and wash them so I have extras for when I return home. If I run out in the meantime I can always use some 0-3s. I didn't want to buy loads just in case as both DH and I are tall and were big babies. I've bought significantly more in 0-3.

How many mitts and hats do we need? Do they need washing regularly? I currently only have 2 pairs of mitts and 4 cotton hats (which despite all being for 0-3 are all completely different sizes!)

Wow that's a lot of newborn stuff! My DD was in 0-3 after a week or 2 (some of the smaller 0-3 fitted her from birth) She was 9lbs and long but friends of mine who had smaller babies said newborn only fitted for a month or 2. I don't blame you for buying lots though as it's your first and it's exciting, I was exactly the same with DD hence why we have bags and bags of girls clothes in storage lol! I'd definitely buy another sleeping bag or 2, they're so handy and can take a little while to dry once washed so it's handy to have spares

Ive brought nothing so far lol waiting until my scan on monday then will buy his or her first outfit :)
I have kept all of my sons clothes he had millions so will have to sort through them but will do that when im like 30 weeks

I love buying clothes! :) My only concern is the weather is unpredictable, we had plenty of hot weather last year and my daughter didn't get to wear lot's of her clothes as she spent most of the time in just vests, our bedroom was 26/28 degrees, I'm due 1st August so not sure what to buy for the best!
