April Mummies 2011

Congrats Jen!

Sorry Toby isn't sleeping Cottles! Rosie has been fussy for hours and just went down for a nap so bedtime is going to be off tonight.

I can totally sympathize with all of you who are dealing with fussy lo's...Ava has been fussy all evening and i just now got her to sleep in her swing! Another night of having coffee for dinner...lol

Ohh and my Moby wrap came today...YAY!!:yipee:

Well decided after Rosie 10 min nap did nothing for her attitude it was time to get her ready for bed! And she's out like a light and its only 30 mins earlier than I shoot for! I'm thinking new bed tim lol its nice to have a little me time (where I should do he dishes... But not tonight lol) her musical giraffe is a LIFE SAVER!! It worked so good this morning so I tried it tonight. 5mons laer she's asleep- hope it stays this way. I'm gonna have to keep the giraffe handy!

Woo Toby slept through again!
Usually I feed him at 10:30 and ge sleeps through til 4:30. Last night he didn't take a bottle til midnight and he slept through til 6am! :happydance:

Morning,

Up til now I have been really lucky as OH has done night feeds however tonight it is over to me in preperation for daddy going back to work on monday. I am so worried about how I will cope with a lack of sleep, I need 8 hours!!!!!

Hope everyone is ok xxxxxxxxxxxx

Jen im lucky to get 3 hrs a night at the mo, you just learn to adapt youll be fine xxx

Yay Jen! So good to see you here at last! You'll cope without the sleep. I always needed my 8 hours & was also the queen of naps and I'm doing ok. Only had 3 and half hours in one stretch at most this week.

Well we had to put Rex to sleep in his car seat last night. Feel bit bad but he wouldn't lay down at all cos of his blocked nose so the car seat was the only option. It worked but I was worried he was all squashed up! I hope he gets better soon. It makes me sad to see him all poorly. x

morning ladies :)

can I ask - who is feeding which way? who is BFing, FFing or combi feeding? I'm feeling really down about not being able to EBF as I just expected to be able to and none of my friends/family ever FF - who here does what? I just need some reassurance I'm not the only person on the planet not BFing :(

Gertrude, don't feel bad. Only one of my friends has BF to a year. SIL went to 6 weeks but expressing, not feeding. No one else I know has BF. Even my mum is very pro FF.

I'm still BFing but it's bloody tough! Way way way harder than I ever imagined it would be. Thought it'd be natural & easy. It's so not! The hardest thing is never being able to leave Rex unless I express and I'm not getting much out when I express so that's not really an option. Would just like a few hours out shopping or something! Oh and also a bottle of lovely lovely wine! Ah well, one month down, 5 to go! x

I exclusively breastfeed but have almost given up on numerous occasions! Please don't feel guilty that u aren't - your lo is thriving and that is the main thing - as long as our Los are healthy and growing well. We are all fantastic mums. :hugs:

Gertrude don't feel bad it is whatever works for you and your baby. Big hugs.

Chocojen congrats your LO is gorgeous.

Daniel is a month old today and weighs 10lb 3oz which is a massive weight gain everyone keeps telling me you can't overfeed a breastfed baby but I am not sure. Think we may put him in his cot tonight as he is really long and keeps waking himself up when he sleeps in moses basket, I feel sad as it is in the other room. Anyone got their baby on any kind of routine at month, if so what as need some ideas but don't want it to be rigged as we are quite social and want to have some leeway. X

Gertrude please font feel bad. You have to think of what's best for you and LO.
I wanted to breastfeed but toby wouldn't latch and my supply was rubbish so I failed miserably at expressing and exclusively FF from about 1 week.

finally made it on the comp not read all the thread yet will catch up when i have time just thought i would post to say i made it

Poppie was born 26/4/2011 @ 13.59 weighing 7lb 1 1/2oz so much for a big baby said dont expect anything less than 8 1/2 lol

i'm combo feeding. mainly ff but i'll pump what i can which is never more than maybe a couple ounces a week.
abby slept another 6 hours last night! too bad it was from 7pm-2am. but she was fed and slept til 730 i think? i don't know why i'm complaining about being tired since she clearly slept like a rock star after putting it down here. wow. go abby! lol
think i figured out if we wrap her in her snuggler she knows it's sleep time and if we keep her unwrapped, she only takes little naps. so hard during the day, but it's nice to have long stretches of her sleeping.

Dana it can be VERY hard during the day!! Rosie kept getting pissed yesterday and screaming she was so tired but wouldn't nap! So right after my post last night DH thought it would be nice to grab her hand and swing it around and wave it and sure thing 2 minutes later she's awake again!! It took 2 hrs to get her back to sleep and DH went to bed 15 mins after all this!! Towards the end she screamed and he gave a dirty look and asked what was going on IDK STILL TRYING TO GET HER TO SLEEP FROM WHEN YOU WOKE hER UP?!

Congrats choco he is gorgeous. The most sleep I get in one stretch is about 3 hrs. You'll get used to it.

Gertrude I was BFing until George was 3 weeks but stopped as he wasn't a very happy baby and spent most of his awake time crying in pain. You need to do what is best for you and LO. I also felt like shit when I stopped BFing but I would rather have a happy baby. Your doing a great job, the health visitor told me that I gave my LO the best start by BFing for 3 weeks.

Sazzle how long did Rex stay in his car seat? Sometimes in the day if George just won't settle then I put him in his car seat and he falls asleep straight away. I feel bad sometimes but I think he likes it cos he's all snuggled up.

Hen went from just after 9 when he fell asleep in the car til 2! Then he woke up to feed & changed him then DH tried to get him back to sleep & I'm Moses basket but he was having none of it so he eventually settled in his car seat again til 6.30. I'm a bad mother! I think with his cold he could breathe better sat up. We were all desperate for sleep as he hadn't had more than 20 mins all day. Look at me trying to justify it! x

You don't need to justify it and your not a bad mother. He was obviously happier in his car seat but its not like he will sleep in there every night.

babybefore - Nathan has been in his cot since 2 weeks as he kept hitting the sides of his basket and waking up! Much happier now in his grobag, OH moaned that we are going to have to dismantle the cot to move it into nathans room, but as that is STILL full of boxes its not happening soon anyway!

Nathans a bit snotty too, snorting and snuffling, its making him very stroppy when feeding.. on/off/on/off, my poor nipples!! :(

Had lots of fun chopping back the shrubs in the garden today, but now im sooo tired, keep forgetting I have no energy and push myself too hard!

Hope ur all getting plenty of sleep! ;)
x
