I'd suggest finding an Lactation specialist.

Caro--

Maybe you are experiencing what is referred to as a "sixth-week bleed." In a recent study, where postpartum bleeding in nursing mothers was evaluated, any bleed, less than 56 days (nine weeks) into the postpartum period was considered a sixth-week bleed, if it was separated from the lochia (post-birth vaginal discharge) by at least four days where no bleeding occurred. A little over one fourth of all breastfeeding mothers in this study experienced a sixth-week bleed, though only 10 percent of these women actually resumed their period at this time.

In this study of 485 nursing mothers, it was found that the average duration of lochia is 27 days. It is not affected by frequency of nursing. It is common for postpartum bleeding to stop and restart. Postpartum bleeding is still considered to be lochia if it is has continued without an episode of at least four bleeding-free days. If bleeding begins less than four days after it has stopped it is still considered to be one episode.

When a nursing mother does experience a sixth-week bleed, there is more likelihood that she will experience an earlier return of ovulation and her menses. (Visness C.M. et al. The duration and character of postpartum bleeding among breast-feeding women. Obstet Gynecol 1997;89:159-63) You might want to discuss the results of this study with your Doctor to see if he feels this may be what is happening in your case. Best wishes!

I've got a breastfeeding support worker who comes round and I've been going to the groups when I can. Without a doubt I wouldn't still be breastfeeding otherwise, as it is I'm only just clinging on.

OLLIE IS HOOOOME! :D

Although, hes still classed as an inpatient and will have a nurse out to him everyday to give him antibiotics and help look after him still. Im not allowed to take him out. Theyve only let him out because apparently babies recover better in thier normal environment with thier families around.
They still didn't find the cause so I'm still very frightened really and I've lost alot of confidence.
I'm just so glad to have him home and off all of the monitors so I can finally give him cuddles again.
<3

Gem that's wonderful news, it must be so good to have him home. Sorry they couldnt find the cause of the problem. It's more than understandable that something like this can knock your confidence but with you and your family around him and the nurse stopping by every day he really is in the best care possible. All the best to you both xxxx

Any other mommies That are attachment parenting?

Breastfeeding, cosleeping, not letting baby cry it out, baby wearing

https://www.askdrsears.com/html/10/t130300.asp

I think I do all of that without realizing it all had a name?!? I guess im doing what comes naturally anyway ? I dont always cosleep only when the odd night feed is long! I'm currently in a hotel room with my kids and oh. Nightmare!!! We are visiting my nan in dorset (bridport) but Jake wouldn't settle til 10.20pm and I have a sinus infection :( I drove 200 miles in total too so I'm knackered!
Baby on chest now so typing one handed on crappy touchscren - no easyfeat!!

hope you got some sleep jakesmummy!

Naima, I'm kinda doing attachment parenting without knowing whats its called too. But we don't co-sleep every night, in fact he's more than often going in his basket now. And I don't often baby wear as Alex never settles in his carrier, plus most places we go I need to drive to. xx

I need to keep coming on BnB there is so many new posts to read!
How is everyone keeping up? :)
XO

Gem - lovey, you and Ollie have had a right old rollercoaster of a time! Glad he is home but I hope they get to the bottom of his troubles. Poor little guy, flipping lovely though, I love seeing your update pictures... I need to start posting more of mine.

It has been quite a while (sorry ladies!) but I have been mostly attached to a tiny handsome boobie monster for the last 4 weeks... and for once I don't mean his Father when I say that :haha: Things are going well, far more smoothly than I ever anticipated especially considering how difficult the pregnancy and birth were.

Gabriel is putting on plenty of weight and is absolutely gorgeous. I know that I am completely biased, but everyone who sees him says it too so it isn't just me <proud Mummy> Picture of my little honey below :cloud9: The girls adore their baby Brother and OH is as doting a Dad as usual, although it must be frustrating for him with Gabe being so hungry all the time and me being the only one who can feed him at the moment. I have got a breast pump and will start to have a go once the little guy gives me a chance and isn't attached. Not that OH has said or done anything to make me think that, I just know how I'd feel in the same situation and want to make sure that he feels just as close to little man as I do.

The only cloud on our beautiful blue sky is my bloody inlaws again. I wont go into it now but they have managed to cause more drama and problems again and this time I have said that me and the kids want nothing more to do with them. People lying, deliberately causing hurt and attempting to manipulate and emotionally blackmail us... just what we need with 3 little girls and a newborn son to take care of! Ho hum, I'm done with them now.

Hope you are all doing well and your LOs are behaving and thriving. Take care xx :hugs:
