April Mummies 2011

gertrude, we had them tues, had exact same problems, lasted a few days and he seems a bit better today, fx'ed it'll stop soon and she'll go back to normal!

:hugs: to those going back to work, we really are very very lucky in the uk, I'm getting the whole year off xxx

Isis is going in on Tuesday for her 2 month checkup and shots. Originally her appt. was for next Friday but we leave the next day for a week vacation and I didn't want to deal with an unhappy child while on vacation.

I'm so ticked off about maternity leave in this country! I know I could take longer but it's ridiculous that to spend a few extra weeks with my newborn I either have to take it without pay, or spend vacation (not my idea of a vacation) and I have to spend all my family leave for a year to do it. So mad right now!

i feel the same way cheeselover...because i needed an extra 3 weeks to heal, my hr needs to investigate and i was just denied an extension in short term pay. this meaning the last 3 weeks are unpaid. now i'm stuck in a position of either paying bills or not eating. trying to get emergency assistance and food stamps for the month so we can eat, pay rent and buy things like diapers and toilet paper.

yeah I'm hoping for a year too! Shame we're not all closer or we could meet up!

I think she's a bit better today :) gave her some more calpol as she has a slightly raised temp and that helped loads!

I just went to get in the shower and there was some milk on my nipple, sorry for tmi. I stopped BF nearly 5 weeks ago. Do you think I could start BF'ing again or at least express some as I would really like to start expressing some milk again but thought it would be to late. I squeeed my nipple and some more drops of milk came out :)

Sounds promising Crazy. Give the breast pump a go!

We got a swing off eBay. A fisher price dwell one that goes front to back & side to side. Got it for £40.99. Bargain! Been & collected it this morning & just waiting for the cover to dry. I hope Rexy will sleep in it. FX'd! I got him to sleep in his cot for 3 hours last night then another 1. A big improvement! I'm determined to win this battle otherwise I'll die from sleep deprivation! x

Feeling very fragile this morning, it was my Hen do last night. Was only out for a night but missed the kids alot. Had a good night though. x

glad shes feeling better! yeah shame people aren't closer, don't think i've met anyone on here whos close, chocojen is prob the closest in bournmouth and thats 2 hours away!

tasha, glad you had a fab night, hope the head recovers soon! xx

Hope Rex likes the swing sazzle and you manage to get a better nights sleep. That was a bargain. George's swing only goes back to front and that was £45 reduced from £55.

Tasha glad you had a good hen night, bet it was good to get out and get drunk :)

Can we give our babies calpol at this age then, i thought they had to be 3 months plus.

crazy you can get calpol suitable for 2months +, so its safe after the 8wk jabs if bubs needs it xx

Sounds like you had fun Tasha!

Dana- I need to go back to my Dr and have them extend my disability! They stopped it at 6 weeks so I'm gonna have my dr fill it out for up until this week.

Crazy I'd say look up relactating. Its possible!! Good luck

I definitely wish I lived closer to some of the girls on here!!

Tasha - Glad that you had a good night out! You deserve it! :) x

Im off for a full year too! :D Woo for UK maternity leave haha :p
I think I live close to 2 girls on here who had April babies but dont think they post in this thread. Not met up or anything though.

Ollie went to a little girls 2nd birthday party yesterday! His 1st little party! :D
He slept all the way through! xD
Everyone loved him though :) I felt so proud with all the lovely comments made about him ^_^

Here he is having a smile at 5am this morning, and also in his very 1st newborn outfit! :D

Dana, your situation sucks more than mine. Makes me worried that I won't get the next 2 weeks off on disability. I hope you can get the help you need! I was reading a post a while back about a woman who was pregnant and hadn't worked for her employer long enough to get FMLA so she was going back to work after 2 weeks. I really feel like this country is trying to keep women down. If any of the politicians were really in support of "family values" they would change our maternity leave laws.
Sorry for the soapbox! Stepping down now. This is one topic that gets me really upset!

Gem, Ollie looks so cute! I just put away Isis' newborn clothes a couple weeks ago, kinda made me sad to think she'll never wear them again.

MissFox, I hope you get your disability extended too! Don't you get 8 weeks for a CS?

Crazy, There's information on the breastfeeding board about relactating. Try putting George to your breast and see if he latches and pump too. It might work.

Tasha, glad you had a night out! Sometimes its good to be away for a little. I had a tough time the first time I left Isis with a sitter and she was asleep.

Sazzle, I hope his sleep improves and I hope he likes his new swing!

Isis has started going to bed later. Now she won't sleep before 10 so I don't get adult time in the evening. Hopefully with the new schedule starting tomorrow - if I don't get my disability - she'll have to sleep more in the evening since she won't get to sleep in the morning.

i keep reading that with a c section, std should be extended to 8 weeks. i don't get why i'm having the issue.

Hello ladies:hi: I haven't been on in a little while and there is lots to catch up on! I will try to do that here soon but just wanted to share a picture of my lo with all of you!

This is her getting really excited and trying to laugh..lol

Waving to you caro!!!

I am still producing some milk despite stopping expressing a week and a half a go, the other day I randomly put george to the breast and he actually latched on for the first time ever!!!! Have tried every feed since and he wont do it again, I called the breastfeeding support worker and she couldnt get him on either but I am so pleased we have had 15 minutes if that experience.

I have been giving George Calpol from day 4, it is done on weight really and as he was so big he was heavy enough to have it! He weighed 10lb 5 oz on tuesday at 4 weeks old, he has dropped from the 91st centile to the 75th but I am not concerned by that as he is still a big boy!!!

I am cooking a roast at the moment and doing the beef rare, so excited...not had that since pre pregnancy!

Also excited to report that 4 weeks post section I am now back in my pre pregnancy jeans although I do still have some weight to lose!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The baby pics are so cute. You look lovely too choco :)

Cheese lover I am going to try and put George to my breast, I'm a bit scared he won't want it though, he used to latch on really well when I used to BF. I'll give it a go and see what happens.

I hope you girls get more time off with your babies.

I don't remember how long it took for my milk to dry up with my other daughter but Ava is 2 months old and i have ff from the beginning yet im am still leaking every now and then..When is it gonna stop??? Ohh and still no AF...lol
