April Mummies 2011

10 weeks old!? Aww like you say, how on earth has that happened!

My son was on SMA Gold and that is quite rich compared to others - he was a sicky baby and I really should've changed it, but didn't. I think he outgrew it around 6 months only to be replaced by drool from teething!!

Ollie will be 10 weeks tomorrow! :D My little boy is growing up so fast ^_^

I have butterflies tonight. I seen an old friend and he came to mine for a few hours and phwoarrr. Hes fitter than he used to be! Haha :p He gave me a hug and I felt like just melting in his arms haha xD
Feel like a silly little schoolgirl crush though tbh but seriously yumm. :p

But anyway, Im going out and leaving Ollie on the weekend :/
Going to see the Hangover part 2 at the pics with 2 of my cousins :)
Should be good but Im sure Ill be worrying about Ollie the whole time!

Hope everyones well xx

accidently fed abby too warm formula and now she has a sore throat. any ideas what to do?

Quick post while I'm pumping. DH is giving Isis a bottle. Hopefully she takes it for him. She's so hit or miss with bottles. I'm hoping she doesn't reverse cycle once she's at daycare!
They're still working on my disability claim but I'm working from home this week either way so Isis won't start daycare until the 27th. Next week we'll be on vacation in Wisconsin. I can't wait! We vacation on a lake and use our boat as a car. It's so much fun! The only thing I'm worried about is it's with DH's family and they have made comments in the past about how much Isis depends on me and how much of my time she takes (duh, I'm Bf'ing) and I found it to be wearing on my confidence. I hope they have less to say this time.
The past couple days we've had crazy thunderstorms and the power has been going out because of them and it caused our internet to go out. I wasn't able to go online at all yesterday and most of today. So glad to be back online!

I forgot to add that Miss Chubby Cheeks had her 2 month checkup yesterday and she weighed 11lbs 4oz! She has gained over 4 lbs in 2 months!
She also got her shots and did quite well. She was cranky the rest of the day, I think her legs were hurting her and today she's back to normal.

Dana if shes still got a sore throat maybe just try soothing it with water? Waters the only thing that stops Toby crying from sore gums sometimes. I guess it's nice for the pain when it's straight from the fridge... But I don't let him have much and the crying starts again as soon as the bottle is taken away.
Still,.. Worth a try if its still hurting her?

Some people recommend against it but i mean literally a couple of mouthfuls.

if it's really hot outside or Tobys got the runs, I let him have some to stop him getting dehydrated. I limit it to a maximum of 2oz per day... A few mouthfuls at a time. He never actually drinks the entire 2oz over an entire day but that's how much I put in the bottle just in case. It's not often he'll drink any water at all but I always carry some, cooled and boiled in case he wants any.

My nephew wasn't given water until very late on. When he was weaning he had milk then went straight to sugar free squash and we had a nightmare getting him to drink plain water.

Thanks again, ladies. My friend is managing to hold up, although I've no idea how. Luckily she has a fantastic family and OH and they are all taking care of her.

Without wishing to jinx anything, Gabriel is really doing well in the night. He settles normally between 8-9 and then sleeps for about 7 hours, has a feed and then goes back off again until 7.30ish. Last night he did from 9 until 5.30 and then went back off at 6 until 8.30... which is when we all woke up and realised we had slept in and were running over an hour late :dohh: Girls late for school, me late for the doctors and a general hectic start to the day!

thats great amethyst, alex did 2 good nights sleep then last night he was up 3 times between 12 and 7!! ahhh, oh well!

Always the way. You get them settled into a nice little routine and then a growth spurt, or something else to disturb them, hits and ruins it all!

I'm hoping that what I learnt (suffered? :haha:)with the older kids has helped this time around and we use a lot of non-verbal cues to set his routine and so far it seems to be working <crosses fingers>

Hopefully Alex will use tonight to catch up on his sleep :flower:

Isis slept through the night last night! She slept from 9:30-5:30! I feel so great today. I'm glad because I have a ton to do before we go on vacation not only to pack but my mom and I are making cloth diapers for Isis and I have to get the rest of the fabric cut so she can sew them while I'm gone.

Amethyst, I'm glad your friend is holding up. I'm glad she has a good support system.

Caro, seems that way, we can never depend on babies to do anything consistently. As soon as I figured out that Isis would nap in her swing, she stop napping in her swing :haha:

Gem, have fun this weekend!

cheese, have fun in eagle river it's gorgeous there! hopefully this stupid weather warms up so you can catch some sun.

no kidding! I looked at the forecast for next week and I'm not sure I'm even going to go in the water! Isis certainly won't be going in.

thanks girls, these babies like to keep us on our toes huh!? :haha: i'm feeling proper pooped now, lol, was wondering why i didn't feel so tired earlier after such a bad night, ah well! fx'ed for tonight! he's napped well today so hopefully it'll continue into the night!

cheese lover, yay! i'm sooo jealous, lol but good on isis! xxx

Cheese lover - yay for Isis sleeping through! :D Hope you have a nice holiday x

Ive put Ollie on 5oz bottles now but Ive noticed he panics while hes drinking and flails his arms and legs about and gasps... anyone know why he'd be doing this?!
4oz wasnt filling him up so I dont know what to do!

this happens with alex too hun, sometimes he needs a burp mid feed, other times its cos my milks letting down to fast, with bottles have you got a slow flow teat? sometimes he just needs a break mid feed and will then go back to it, a bit like us having dinner and then pudding ;)

xx

pickle has 5oz bottles too gem but doesn't always have the full amount - varies from 1.5oz to 6oz (bloody girl :D)

sometimes when she's trying to have a pause a drip of milk goes down the wrong way and and she flails like you say :) maybe it's just that - I take the bottle out of her mouth and give her a min then carry on :)

eep im at work and Rosie is too lol!!! DH has a dr appt so hes picking her up after that!

George slept from 8-8 last night and woke up for a feed at 2am, why do i feel knackered? lol.
