April Mummies 2011

jakes that so cool! have fun! wish i lived near enough to some of my online friends to meet up! i'm not a million miles from you but still not local (nr brighton!) xx

Ah I'm meeting another mummy through netmums meet a mum board and I'm nervous!!! Lol shouldn't be but I'm shy at first, but after the first meet I'm ok!

Weird or what! I did the exact same thing today! She was lovely. Dead chatty just like me so we're going to meet up again soon. How did your meet up go?

It's Rex's Tongue tie appointment tomorrow. Feeling nervous about it!

So upset with OH right now. Toby hadn't stopped crying and niggling all day, I'd just taken some nurofen for the headache he'd given me and I was still trying to calm him down when OH got in from work complaining about being hungry.
So I asked him to do dinner. He put a frozen readymeal in the oven then dished it up when it was cooked.
After dinner he asked to put on one of his tv shows and I jokingly said "sure, if you get me an ice cream!" and he went off on one about "since when have I been roped into doing everything around here? I just got in from work! The only time i get to myself is my breaks!" so I mentioned that I don't get a break and he said "yeah well you only have 1 baby to look after. I've got sixty!"
Ffs. He's an IT guy at a small law firm.

He always says stuff like this. Like I'm a lowly housewife and he's a big important computer man. He deserves downtime and I deserve no breaks. I've done every night shift, washed every vest, bought every tin of milk. All I asked was for a readymeal and an ice cream.

Men are pricks! Im glad Im single after hearing how some of your OHs are with yous sometime. They need to give you ladies some respect!

I feel like my little Olliebob is too small after reading what some of the 3 month weights are! Ollie was last weighed about 2 weeks ago and was 10lb exactly. He turned 3 months old 4 days ago today. Hes like just below the second bottom line on the red book weight chart so just going into the 2nd centile!
Is that good or bad or just ok?! :s

We have her in swaddlers and the swaddling sleep sacks. Normally when she unswaddles herself I reswaddle her but this morning she had one arm out and after I fed her I put her down like that as a test but she hardly slept. One time doesn't tell me much. I really think I need to start weaning but I don't want to during the week in case she sleeps terribly and this weekend we'll be at my IL's so I'm not touching it before then so it would be almost 2 weeks from now. Last night she was grunting the whole time I was swaddling her. Maybe I'll try one arm tonight.

Gertrude, she totally does that with her arms! Its not quite as bad as it used to be. Enjoy your wine!

Cottleston, :hugs: men sometimes!

Sazzle, good luck tomorrow!

I wouldn't worry, all babies are different.
If your LO seems content after feedings, poops and pees enough and is generally happy, I wouldn't be worried.
Everyone grows differently, adults and babies!

We swaddled Rosie fora while but have already stopped. The last 2 weeks I've just put her down nd she will sing herselfto sleep. She does kick her blankets off every night though

Gem he sounds perfect!!!! He will probably stay dinky for a while but when you start solids, he'll gain a little extra. I love his smily pics- so cute!!!

Caro I go to Brighton quite often. I will no doubt be around the area in august as we go on days out etc! Will message you when I do - be great to meet!

Sazzle I haven't been yet it's on Friday! Just at costa coffee but I need adult interaction! Funny thing is both our kids are 3 weeks apart in age. Both our boys are 28 months and girls 8/11 weeks. Perfect! Were u nervous at first?! I guess I'm more worried about Jake acting up in costa!! ( he's a bit of a shit at the mo lol!)

we're still swaddling abby, dr said she swaddled hers til 6-7 months. as long as she wants it and is sleeping well, i don't really care.

Hi everyone sorry not been able to get on hope everyone is ok
Poppie is doing great sleeping through the night now which is cool, proper babbling away lol
I have the bloody shingles well painful at the mo :-(

DD has a rash. I checked the nhs site & it said heat rash, fine to treat at home. She's had it since sat so I'm taking her to doc as it's not that warm now and I'm not happy about it still being there.

Assuming she's ok I'm going to take her to get weighed this afternoon. I've been weighing her at home since her 8 week check so thought I should get an update in her red book.

She has her second injections tomorrow too. Poor thing.

My lo didn't sleep at ALL last night...She went down at 9, up at 11, back down at 1 and up again at 2:30..then i managed to get her back to sleep at a little after 3 and she is now up at 6 ready to go! I feel like im sleep walking!!! lol Ohh and dh didnt get home till 4:40...I see this day not going very well :(

Aw Emmys I hope you get a break soon :hugs:

Toby has started waking up at 1am. He used to sleep through til 4am-ish when he'd wake for a bottle but he's waking up at 1 instead now. Im hoping it's not an early sleep regression because I know he's having a growth spurt at the moment.
Most mornings he'll have a 5oz bottle between 7-8am, then about 3oz around 11. Today he's polished off 6oz bottles for both feeds and still wanted more. Greedyguts!!

Hayley hope they clear up soon! Shingles are horrible! I had them when I was pregnant.

Ahh. I feel like crying. Ollie hasnt stopped ALL FUCKING DAY.
Im on my own with him and tbh for the first time Im finding it a bit more difficult to cope. I just dont know what to do. Ive tried everything and he wont stop and its stressing me out :(

Gem, could he be teething? Caitlin can really scream when her teeth hurt. Teething gel and a dummy help comfort her.

Well, at 14 weeks she weighs 13lb 4 and has gone from 2nd to 50th. The HV was surprised how much she's grown (5lb 13 at birth). She said to get as near to 6 months before weaning to stop her having weight problems later on in life.

HV thinks DD is having another growth spurt as she has stopped going 9.30 - 6.30 and is back to waking between 2.30 and 3.30.

Doc said her rash was heat rash but gave us some cream to help it.

Sounds like were all approaching the big growth spurt! Rosie is still sleeping a ton. So about 10 minutes ago I thought to myself "I should change my breast pads" and about 5 mins ago while feeding Rosie my arm brushed up against my other boob and I am SOAKED. :dohh: Guess I forgot to change them. Were leaving today to Oakland to catch our plane tomorrow. I
So excited to go see my whole family n the east coast!!!

Sorry Ollie is givinf you a hard tins today Gem.
Excellent growth with Poppy!!!!
Hope Toby sleeps better tonight! That seems like a definite increase! Rosie has been taking 5 oz bottles when she takes a bottle. Haven't tried 6. She seems happy with 5.

Our dogs ran away (again) yesterday morning g and came back in the evening but o.e has a broken toe or something. I hope its no too bad. DH is going to wait it out and see of she just irritated it before bringing her in to the vet si.ce were still paying on a bill from before Rosie was born.

I'm pretty sure Isis is going through the growth spurt too. She's waking more and more every night. Last night she woke 3 times to feed. Usually she only wakes once. She's still only taking 3.5 oz/bottle 2-3 bottles + me feeding at lunch while I'm at work.
I tried half-swaddling her but she was so restless (could be growth spurt) so I reswaddled her at 3am. I'm not sure either of us are ready for her to be unswaddled. Although she still fights me when I'm swaddling her and I'm pretty sure she doesn't really enjoy being swaddled, she just sleeps so much better. I think she's just such a busy baby she doesn't like being unable to move.

MissFox, enjoy your trip!

Gem, he might like sucking on an ice cube, just put it in a towel. It might help with his gums if he's teething. Sorry he's having such a hard day!

No, wasn't nervous but I am gobby so meeting new people doesn't really bother me as I just chat away!

We had Rex's appointment this aft. He does have a slight tongue tie so glad to know I'm not mad! But they didn't snip it. The consultant said it looks like he's stretched it himself & it'll prob just get more stretched so shouldn't affect his speech or anything. He also has a lip tie too but she said that will prob snap when he falls at some point in childhood.

So I've decided to keep BFing for a bit & see if I notice any improvement. But we're going to slowly introduce formula for the late feed by mixing with EBM until it's all formula in the hope it'll make him sleep a bit more!

I feel for all those having new sleep issues. I think Rex had his 3 month growth spurt a week early. His sleep was horrendous last week but getting better now. He was a week late so maybe that makes a difference!!!

urgh why does pickle go to bed so early :( yesterday it was 5.30pm and she slept through till 3.30 - if she went at 8 she wouldn't wake up till 6 :(

She's in bed again before 6 - she just gets way too tired :(

gertrude have you tried gently waking her after shes had a nap? say let her have 45mins or so, see what happens? alex often has a nap around 6 and will then have a bath and bed around 8-9ish. Just see if you can re-set her body clock a little? xx
