April Mummies 2011

I thought about some names for ya Sam! But I LOVE Greta! Ohhh and i like the name Gretchen too...DH never liked it and it turns out he picked both of my girls names lol

Charlotte Jane
Scarlet Jane
Lila Jane
Olivia Jane

Just thought of a few...Ohh and the boys name you have chosen is super cute! :)

Oo I like Olivia Jane :)

Ahh moles gone! 11 stitches. Just have to wait for a letter an get them removed in like 2 weeks :) made me feel sleepy lol

Sorry I haven't been on much. Will catch up soon!! Gem glad the removal is done. Hope the results come back quickly and all clear.

I love Greta and Olivia with Jane. Also really like the classic Anna Jane.

Oooo amber dusick or however you spell her name replied to my tweet :3
She blogs crappy pictures for anyone who doesn't know. I love love love her blog!

glad the moles are all gone gem!!

i love olivia jane too!! Sam, will you do like with Rosie and call the baby by its middle name again? so really the baby will be known as jane or Dean? (just wondering!) :D

we've still got absolutely no-where with names :dohh:, not a clue what we'll use as first or middle names for either boy or girl :haha:

gem - glad to hear it's been removed - hope they get it all x

cottles - your bloke sounds like an idiot. If I were you I'd down tools. Stop doing anything and start going out enjoying yourself. Maybe I'd do what he said he thinks I do "the bit of laundry" and then see how long it is until he realises how much more you do.

But then I'm quite the child :haha:

my OH said to me last night, IF we did have another (the emphasis on the IF is still there, boo) what would we do if it was twins? :D I laughed and said all we could do is laugh and get on with it :D his dad is one of a twin, and my dads brother/sister are twins and neither of our brothers have had twins - I don't know enough about the odds for twins and I'm not looking into it either or I might change my mind about having another :D

Isnt it something like theres one set of twins in each generation if they run in the famuly? Could be wrong but im sure ive heard it before.

Usually it skips a generation.but they are definitely genetic. Not sure if we will call baby no 2 by the middle name or not. I think DH is a fan of it but I don't know.

Woke up with a head cold this morning. Boo!
I like Olivia also but DH doesn't. And that was before he got all ITS A BOY! WE DON'T NEED A GIRL NAME UNLESS THEY SAY ITS A GIRL. Haha he wants a boy so bad!

that's concerning. make sure you talk to him and he realizes it could be a girl. i don't want him hurting your feelings if he's super dissapointed or is no longer excited about the baby because it's a girl..

I know he knows it is a possibility. And more than he originally thought but I think he was hoping for a boy more than I was. I'm just trying to think girl stuff now because I feel like I need ti be prepared. I will be happy as long as baby is healthy. :D
and I know he will go through some gender disappointment if its a girl but he will get over it.

Fraternal twins are genetic on the female side only. this is because 2 eggs are released and both fertilized, but the likelihood of fraternal twins also goes up with maternal age since "things" stop working as well as they should. From everything I've read there's no genetic basis for identical twins and they are considered to be random. I'm very interested in this topic because my maternal aunt and uncle are fraternal twins and my grandmother had them when she was young so I always figured someone in our lineage was up for twins but no one has so far. My aunt and my mom both only had singletons and my female cousin has had two singletons as well. I keep telling dh that we're due for twins! He's terrified because we really only want two max children since a third makes us almost need a bigger second vehicle. I mean we could squeeze three carseats across the back of both our vehicles but it would be tight. I honestly think it would serve us right for trying to control so much of our lives to have twins if we have another. Dh is still in the no second child camp. I told him to give it another year. I'd like to make a decision by Isis's 3rd birthday.
Btw, I LOVE Greta Jane! I tend to like less common names and I've been hearing of a lot of Olivia's lately so that's not one I'm a big an of. I'm sure your hubby will be fine boy or girl!

Katherine, your dh makes me wanna punch him! He's such a man child! Make sure you get enough rest!

Everything's going pretty good around here. Dh is traveling for work and in the next 2 weeks I'll see him for 36 hours. Then we'll be meeting up in Hawaii! I have a ton of things to do before then at work and at home so I'm starting to get stressed.
It's so cute, Isis has started making her Elmo doll do everything she does. She asks if Elmo can have milky and has him "nurse" in the mornings. Then this morning she made me put her pants on Elmo and then one of her shoes. She cracks me up. I'm noticing that she's been better behaved since dh left. I know she's also better behaved when I'm not home. I wonder what's up with that.

i didn't mean anything by the comment, just had a friend have severe gender dissapointment when she found out she was having a boy. she was in tears and depressed for weeks. anytime i hear of someone really wanting one gender or another makes me think of her. i'm sure he'll be fine

DH apologised for his comment. I made him aware of how crappy i was feeling and that it does actually make me feel useless when i cant help more. He didnt realise that and has been more understanding since. Plus I made him get up in the middle of the night to deal with Toby so we're even. ;)

Fraternal twins are bizarrely something I never considered. Even though my grandmother had a twin brother, and I'm a big lady which apparently helps... And I'm 28 which is considered mature for a mum round these parts!

I am so feeling this pregnancy right now. Measuring 28 weeks and getting the pains and heartburn for being further along too. Oh well... 16 weeks to go!

Sam... I hope your DH doesn't suffer with too much gender disappointment if he doesn't get what he wants. Two daddy's girls would be cute!!

katherine, so glad DH said sorry! i'm with gertrude though and would be a big kid :haha:, I've done things like just done my own and alexs washing before now! he didn't notice until he ran out of pants ...soon taught him though! although the magic fairy still refills the cupboards and makes him dinner in his life :/, generally in my life there's a magic washing upper these days so can't really complain too much!

i've a really sore back these days, overdoing the lifting at the wkend and lifting alex has taken its toll. :hugs: katherine, can't even imagine the discomfort carrying two! xxx

did anyone else who watched the superbowl find beyonce's show inappropriate?

i'm trying to win free meat, so i'll be tagging you guys to help. you can unlike the page after thursday but i'd really appreciate the help!

LOL @ caro :D I did the no pants thing too once :D though yes, our cupboards mysteriously restock themselves too.

Though I have learnt that he is TOTALLY useless at finding things, so if I need to save something for a particular meal I just hide it behind something else and he'll NEVER find it :D

I'm 37 next month, and I'm overweight, the odds are bad for twins :D

Omg gertrude would never have thought you're almost 37! Your personality makes you come across as considerably younger aha! In a good way though of course :)

Ahh pay day but im tired so might actually stay in. .. that's a first for me lol.
Back at the docs tomorrow to see how my chest ct scan went.

Dana, good luck winning the meat :)
