I've finally Had my baby girl! Charlotte born at 9:27pm on 8th may weighing in at 7lbs 5oz. She is so gorgous and spitting double of dad. I can't beleive she's here! Will post up pics when i can. Good luck to whose left,which shouldint be many by now xxx

This year they spoiled me. My mother in law, husband and the girls got me a charm bracelet with a charm for each girl.. Then the girls got me a picture frame that they color.

Congratulations to all the new mommies! So glad to get back on here and catch up...looks like it's still a waiting game for some of you. Not long now, it can only be a matter of some days really! (I know that doesn't help when the clock seems to have slowed to a crawl lol).

I'm back in the game here now after a few days of not really being able to put Tiernan down very much. He did have a couple of evenings of trapped gas and I'm still trying to get him burped properly every time he feeds, but it doesn't seem to work part of the time as he falls asleep on the boob and even if I put him up to burp him, sometimes nothing comes out. So I'm working on that part of things. Nipples are sore but today one of them is starting to feel ok.

I'm watching out for those of you still left and sending you happy and speedy labor dust!

If you find a soloution for that please let me know! Gabriella keeps falling asleep while feeding and then won't burp

I wanted to add I had my beautiful baby boy on April 22nd. His name is Zachary James. He was born @ 12:45 am, 39 weeks along. He was 7lbs 9 oz... 20.5 in long. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!

555Ann555, LOL..I'm totally with you on the burping thing. I've established he just won't burp if he's fallen asleep on the boob. I will wait sometimes til he does that mid-sleep stretch and squirm, then go for it then, and that seems to work better. I've not had too many episodes of trapped gas so far so for that reason I'm not too worried about him burping up every time.

Catkin - good luck with your induction. Hopefully it's all well on its way now. I didn't find induction with the pessaries unbearable, and my waters had already been gone 30-odd hours when they inserted the pessary, but it's when the drip goes on (if you have the drip, which you may not need unless you aren't progressing well) that things get tough. I managed til 5-6cm on TENS, then started gas and air just as they started the drip, and stayed with gas and air and TENS for a couple of hours then just g+a for another couple of hours, but didn't go beyond 6cm despite the contractions being fierce and relentless. It was when there were problems with the heartrate and c-section was looking likely due to possible failed induction, that I had to have an epidural, but it didn't work properly (I had relief from the local anaesthetic til it wore off after half an hour, and the epidural numbed my left thigh... so that was useful then!). Gas and air was amazing, though, and providing your labour goes smoothly and isn't long like mine was, and you don't need the drip, you may well be OK with just that - if you use it properly it does have an amazing numbing effect! You probably won't read this now, though!!

I've resorted to taking her off when her suckling slows and burping her mid feed, then burping her again at the end of the feed (if possible).

She woke up screaming about 2 hours ago which was really distressing, but I think it must have been trapped wind She only screamed for about 2 seconds, but it was just so sudden, plus she was in her Moby wrap so she was screaming right under my chin!

I'm going to see if I can get into the baby massage class my HV runs to see if there are some helpful massage techniques I can learn...
