You know you are a parent when.....You send a picture message to your husband of your little ones poopy diaper saying we have poop ain't I lucky..

Kinleigh last week had maybe 2 poopy diapers all week and I was getting worried. Then the past 4 days she had 1 poopy diaper a day but with very little poop. Well today she managed to fill her diaper and then some. So I felt the need to send a picture of it to my husband. I forgot what it was like to get excited about poop.

we were just the same with wet nappies, ruby didn't wee for the two days we were so worried had to go to a and e in the end but luckily she went as soon as we got there, such a relief! We still get very excited when she has wet nappies!!!

How many times have you fed in that time frame. I know when Kinleigh came home at 4 weeks she went through 5 diapers in like 3 hours. If she ate a lot then I would not worry too much.

Stock up on nappies!!

As mommyof3girls said, if you've been feeding a lot in that time it's quite normal. Ollie poops at least once each time I feed him at the moment. Freya was the same when she was wee too.

I had the concern over wet nappies when we first brought Ollie home. He'd had plenty of wet nappies in the hospital, but then none from the time we left. When my mw came round the next evening I asked her about it. She wasn't concerned (he was still pooping quite happily) but said if I was I should leave him with no nappy on for a while and the cooler temperature should make him go.

Yeah, she was right. I should have listened to her - and then I wouldn't have ended up wearing it!! You've really got to be alert when you're changing boys!

I've been feeding her a ton to be honest! She has nursed solidly for about 7 out of the last 10 hours, and every time I've detached her to burp she's had a mouthful of milk, so she's definately getting plenty of milk!

I was wondering if maybe she was due a growth spurt at 3 weeks or if it is too early, but she has seemed super hungry today. I suppose every baby is different though and I probably wouldn't be able to predict a groth spurt like that..

I guess if I'm putting that much in it has to come back out again; and she dooesn't seem at all poorly, she just keeps on emptying her bowels!

That is 8 dirty nappies in 9 hours now, each one accompanied by a big fart!

You get a bit sick of changing them, don't you? It's so frustrating when you've just put a clean nappy on, and then you have to go do it all over again.

Ollie has had a few feeding frenzy days over the first few weeks too. I guess they've got a lot of growing to do anyway. Ollie put on 300g in one week!

I thought the first 'official' growth spurt was around 6 weeks, but I'm certainly no expert.

Good that she's feeding so well though!

I'm having the opposite problem 555Ann555...my little man's been constipated now for a couple of days. He's had some wet diapers but no poop. I can tell he's uncomfortable. I got some Infacol to help the gas pass through and so he is farting little farts during the day, but nothing solid. I've given him a bath and done the thermometer up the bum thing twice now, so hoping he lets a good one go very soon!

Congrats! What a quick labor!!

I know what you guys mean about the diapers. Duncan is constantly going to the bathroom it seems like. It cracks me up though because he has this very distinct grunt when he poo's. He does poo and pee a lot but his doctor said it's definitely okay as long as it isn't diarrhea. One night he was up and pooed once an hour. He was also eating forever it seemed like as well! My poor boobs after that I tell ya

My little one has had a couple bouts of constipation as well. She makes loud grunting noises & her face turns a little red & I can see her pushing. I gave her a warm bath, rubbed her belly clockwise, & did bicycle legs and within 1 hour got two dirty diapers out of her. I feel so bad when she's going through it though, she looks so uncomfortable. I heard that you can also try putting a little Vaseline on a q-tip & quickly put that in their bum (like you would the thermometer I suppose) & it's suppose to stimulate the muscles or help loosen things or something. I'm too much of a wuss to do that so far.
