Mrsglitz- I rang up the hospital this morning to ask questions about strep b and how close the contractions have to be before I'm kept in. She said I need to be at least 4cm dilated and to have 3 contractions in 10 minutes. This concerns me that I may not have sufficient time to get the antibiotics I need. whats your hospitals policy on this? X

Hmmm... I rang my hospital and they told me every to go in when I was getting 1 every 10 minutes. Wonder why it's so different?

Because my hospital is obviously shit. I'm gonna look it up as I'm not happy about not being kept in until I'm 4cm x

I think my waters may have gone this morning, just a bit ago. I got up to pee, went back to bed, and when I laid down, I felt some water coming out. I got up and some more came down my leg, so I went into the toilet and sat. That was it though really. I thought there'd be lots more that came out, like a gush, but I suppose that's just me conjuring up my expectations. I did feel some cyclical cramping last night but it wasn't enough to keep me from sleeping anyway.

So I called the hospital and spoke to the midwife and she said to put on a pad and wait another hour or so to see if more came out. She said I would leak more and that if I did, I'd know if it was my waters or some pee from my bladder coming out. Well, I do know for a fact it was my waters and not pee as, for one thing, I had just peed, and this feeling was pretty different.

So I already know it was my waters for sure, but just gonna sit here anyway and see if more leaks out or something. I have an appointment with the midwife today at 3 anyway, but my main concern was that I have strep b so been told to get in and be put on antibiotics after my waters broke. So it's a game of wait and see, haha...

So if you don't hear from me again today, I'm in having a baby! Think they keep you in for a couple of days here so it might be that long or so before I can update (if that's the case). Otherwise, I'll see you all online here later this morning.

I'm presuming we've not heard from Minstermind so she must be having/have had her baby!

Can I ask a silly question? How come in the thread title it says 124 expecting and 134 births. Now I'm not the best a maths but even I know this can't happen??

There's been 134 babies born and there's still 124 expecting. Everytime the second number goes up, the first number goes down. HTH x

OH right I see!! I thought it meant in total there have been 124 people expecting in April, and the 2nd number is how many have been born from them! OMG what a pregnant brain numnuts I am!

I went off for a nap at 5 and been watching the soaps since I woke up again!

Nothing eventful here other than the backache has returned, no cramping or anything else though.
