My older sister is an April, born in April. I like it, but growing up she hated the fact that everyone was like "were you born in April or what?"...people can be kind of rude.
Well...I might be incredibly biased, but I like the name April. I am an April! Also, I wasn't born in April...Valentine's Day in fact! I was told it was just always my mom's favorite name. My grandma even tells me that all her dolls growing up were named April. Did the whole "Were you born in April?" questions get old growing up? Sure. But never enough to turn me off or make me despise my name. The jokes attached to my last name were more annoying than that. Not to mention, there are far worse things another kid can say to one. The most recent other April I met I would guess was around the same age as I am (I'm 29...hardly what I'd consider middle-aged as someone mentioned ) actually had to ask if I was born in April. Nope. She was excited about that because neither was she. I like that my name isn't really common but isn't far out there, either.
