Was in boots yesterday and saw this. Anyone tried it? Sounds maybe like SMA stay down I think

i used sma staydown for 5 weeks with my LO and it worked fantastic for us. His reflux has improved greatly and he is now on sma hungry baby (on hv advice) but i would definitely recommend staydown. not sure about aptamil, never used it.

Do you mean aptamil comfort milk? Or is it actually called aptamil anti reflux?

We tried aptamil comfort milk for our dd after switching from normal SMA, but we found it didn't make any difference, it was just harder to make up as it didn't dissolve as well.

We switched back to regular SMA and got prescribed gaviscon and ranitidine to control the reflux instead and it works amazingly!

It's always worth a try though!

We us aptamil comfort and its stopped working for us :O( eased my LOs symptoms for a short while but now she is back to the way she was before.... Would be interested to know if it is the comfort milk for colic and constipation or an anti reflux milk?

agree with mummytosummer the comfort milk is near on impossible to dissolve!

Hi
It's definitely Aptamil 'Anti-reflux' It must be new out. Says on the container it's thickened with carobel gum or something?...

Can't even find it on their website but I've got it in front of me!

Wow thats weird! Post a pic if you can! I have just been prescribed some carobel from the Doctor but would be sure easier if it was inbuilt into her milk already! :O) Goood share and well spotted!!! Which Boots were you at?

Floofy you are not too far away from me I am in Durham!

Hey
Im actually living in county Durham near S'field. But from Mbro way originally. I was at boots on the trunk road in Middlesbrough. It's a fairly big store but not as big as most. Maybe you could try the milk too?

Got some Aptamil anti reflux today.. its verrrry thick! Hope it works for LO! Lady in boots said it had just come in on Weds but looks like its going to be in most stores! YAY!

Have you used it yet? We've used it for two feeds. It's soooo thick isn't it?! Size 2 teats weren't big enough so luckily had some y cut ones. Had no sick so far but am a bit worried its going to cause wind problems. Lots of burps come up but noticed she kept waking up from naps after it with trapped wind grrr

Maybe it's cause you have to shake it so much?! It looks really frothy!

fLOOfy its like thick milkshake isn't it? We have some variflow teats so have started using them and they seem ok..... Not really had any puke since and she is very happily drinking it and nearly finishing her feeds which is a rarity! Have had a tiny bit of biley sick and not as much screaming as normal.. Will have to see how it pans out :O)

Pah DH laughs when i get overjoyed when LO has nearly finished a 5oz bottle as many babes her age are guzzling 7-8oz every feed....

Hey
So far so good here. Drinks it sooo much quicker than the nutramigen she was on. Loves it I think. Guzzles 6oz bottles which were a chore before. Just not too keen on how faffy it is to make. 7 mins to wait! Middle of night???

I'm in Middlesbrough floofy and seen this too downstairs in boots! Do you use gaviscon with it too? Gaviscon was working a treat but he's started to spit up a little again

Xxx

Just seen your other post might give this a try!

Xxx

Give it a go baby M! Its working for me I can reccommend it! LO is a bit screaming still but I think I just have a shouty baba! I am just pleased she is finally drinking some milk!
Floofy I know its a pain to make we had a disaster the other night and went to bed without the flask of hot water...( I do a flask for the night just in case.. LO has been STTN for a while but I don't trust her!) Soo muggins had to go down and boil the kettle at 4am! To get round it I sat the bottle in cold water and ice and it did cool down to hand held temperature quite quickly..... :O)

Well still liking the milk but we had an awful event today with it. LO normally poops every morning after baby massage but didn't today. Then thought she was pooping later so went to change her but nothing! Then spent 30 mins while she strained and cried trying to push a poop out. This went on so many times today and she got more and more upset. Eventually we were considering going to hospital as she had a poop basically stuck that wouldn't come out! Constant massage and a bath finally forced a human sized poo out with blood too :-(
Gaviscon used to make her constipated but not like carobel in this milk!

This stuff has carobel in it which is like gaviscon. Really thick like milkshake!

We have it here, & I used it for Omar. He was never constipated on it. xx

I have to agree Ruby has managed her poops like normal on this millk so far so good..
What was weirder when I was using the carobel and mixing that with her feed she got very constipated...

Hope your LOs bum is feeling better soon! You can give her some OJ and water I think HV reccommend 1 part OJ to 10 parts water....
