Anyone done this? A leisure centre local to me offers this class, but I'm not sure when I should start. I've done aqua aerobics before, and I loved it. I pretty much just love being in the water. Also, I don't have any pregnant friends that live nearby  and would love to find someone who lives near me to go with!

Aquanatal is more or less the same as aquaerobics and great for pregnant ladies. I used to teach aquaerobics and had a few pregnant ladies attend. You can start anytime and go through untill you give birth, with no problems, as its non impact and swimming or water based exercise is reallly good for you.

I went to my first aquanatal class last week at the local leisure centre. The class was run by the same MW that runs the more expensive class I had found locally. I loved it, the MW will also answer any questions that you have before your next appt. Just go to one and maybe you'll find a local bump buddy.

I think I'll do that, thanks.

It's the one in Windsor that I want to go to (until I move into London in the next few months), if anyone who eventually reads this thread is nearby.

I'm not nearby, but just wanted to echo the others really... go! I started going quite late, about 27 wks, but you can go to ours from 12wks... yup, same as aquaerobics, but mine does a lot of games which are breathing exercises in disguise too! Lots of partner / team stuff so we have really gotten to know each other too... Have fun!

Thank you. There's one tomorrow evening, so depending on what time I get back from my new job, I'll ring them and see if there's a place.

Do most of you who have gone take your partners? My husband said he'd go swimming with me but thinks that the aquanatal thing will just be pregnant ladies.

I've started swimming this week and I love it!! I've found a aquanatal class near me that is held on a tuesday so I'm going to go check that out this week,. really looking forward to it as I've heard lots of good things about them,

Oh, lovely to see you on here! The one in Windsor shouldn't be too difficult if you drive, I don't think - you can cut through Staines. I'm gonna ring them tomorrow night if I'm not too tired from travelling into the new job and see if I can get on that one. Windsor's website says they do it on Monday nights 20:30-21:30 and Friday mornings 09:30-10:30. Once my shifts start at the new job though, I'm sure I won't be able to make both and will have to put some in from the aqua aerobics in Langley and Slough to make up.

Awww, thats a shame.. I sold my car as soon as I moved to London, travelling in London is a bugger so I thought sod it im getting a bus from now on!! I just need to feel light!! At the moment, I feel like a whale..lol

Once the Army sort out my husband's rejoin, we'll be likely living in Knightsbridge or Victoria, so I'll be all about public transport then!

I'm sure I'll be posting something new when we've moved then.

Ours does a special couples session, mums and dads, on a different night to the ladies only one... and it's free that night! I think it's maybe supported by SureStart or someone, to encourage 'family'... My OH won't go, but I enjoy being with the other ladies anyway.., we have a giggle... and I don't think I'd talk to anyone else if OH were there iykwim?

I'm starting one on Tuesday evening! It runs twice a week for 10 weeks. I'm really excited!
