Hi Girls,
I posted yesterday as I had a faint line on a preg test and an ovulation test. Both with the same faint line. I then took your advice and tested again, 1 more ovulation test, another preg test last night and another preg test this morning. All of these came back with the same faint lines indicating a positive result.

I then went to the doctors today and she couldnt understand why I would have a positive on both a pregnancy test and an ovulation test. I told her that the ovulation tests can detect pregnancy and she said she had never heard of that before (sometimes I think we know more than doctors!). She then did a test with hers in the surgery from my mornings wee (the same wee I got a positive with) and it came back negative

So feeling sad driving home I decided to buy a clearblue test and I did it when I got home, it came back negative.

Im so confused!

Is it possible to have 5 positives as a mistake? I have been using these tests from ASDA for the past 3 months and they have never shown a faint line until now.

Also I only finished my period on Saturday 7th March, could I conceive and produce HCG in a week and 2 days?

Thanks Girls,
Txxx

Im not sure hon, but the ovulation tests arent positives...on an opk the test line has to be darker than the control line

looks very positive to me asda tests are very sensitive they picked my bfp up at 9-10 dpo x

They do look like :bfp: s

So roughly what cycle day are you on now if you finished you period on the 7th March - assuming that was CD5 then you would now be on CD15ish which is pretty soon to be getting a :bfp: - do you know when you ovulated at all?

I was testing for ovulation from Friday just gone and nothing came up on the tests, I expected to ovulate Saturday/Sunday, as my cycle is 28 days. As soon as I came off my period we tried again i.e. last Monday. But I agree this does seem too soon, thats why im not getting my hopes up just yet.

But how could all of these tests have the same results, from different times in the day?
Txxx

hhhmmm the tests look + but the info you gave doesnt match or seem likely....but i guess thats why they say everyone is different!!! hope its :bfp: with a sticky bean

That's really confusing, the HPT's look positive, but the OPK's aren't?

Maybe the HPT's are more sensitive than the OPK's? I'd recommend retesting with a FRER in a day or two perhaps. Have you tried any other brands yet?

CB standard are crap anyway, so ignore that result for now ;)

Good luck, the asda ones certainly look good to me xx

hun NEVER trust the shit they have at doc i took 5 preg tests including digis and got bfp on all then 2 days later came on af so went to docs with these tests i had done so she could send me for a check, but instead she asked me to do one of her tests she had as i had strong bfps on mine i thought nothing of it and went and done the test although i thought why is she asking me when she has 5 in front of her did she not believe they were mine or something ???
anyways it came bk bfn!! i was confused i knew these 5 diff tests couldnt be lying to me so left docs with the advice to wait till next period to try again, not even a word about being checked, i knew i was preg and i knew my bean never made it as i was bleeding quite heavy and it was early at 4w+ 2d, i was confused like yourself so went to chemist and bought another 2 tests seperate packets so diff batches and both strong bfp, bt sadly over the next 4 days bleeding continued and my bfp got lighter i had lost my bean, but my point is chick dnt trust them doc tests i dnt think they very sensitive, well not sensitive for us TTC girls anyway we all like testing at 9DPO.
hope it goes well hun and them tests look bfp to me no question congrats xxxxxxxxxxx

Docs tests are not very sensitive, i had to go back 3 times for my test with them, didnt pick up a positive til 5 and half weeks. Your HPT's do look positive to me, the OPK's are neg, but i only got one pos OPK at 9dpo then they were neg after that so that doesnt necessarily mean your not pregnant. Maybe try again with a different brand :hugs:

I wouldn't trust OPKs coz we always have some LH in or system so they could show some sort of line at any point in your cycle.
If you are only getting a BFP on the same brand of test I wouldn't trust it.
HOWEVER I have always said that if I get even a faint line I must be preggo coz I have never had any type of line on any test in 14 cycles (apart front my only BFP that ended in MC)

hun that is a big fat purple line, your GPs test must be rubbish because that is a clear positive. my GP told me that home tests are more sensitive than his so there was no point him testing while i was still early. is it possible that your last bleed was implantation or was it very heavy?

thats defo a BFP!

i also think gp's need re educating lol!!

Are you testing you IC and your OPK's in the same urine? I think i read somewhere that if you dip a pregnancy test in the same urine you just dipped an OPK, it can cause a false positive. Hmmmm, not sure where i heard that from, i could be completely wrong. I will try to google and find out. Otherwise, your tests do look like BFP

The Asda brand tests are def bfps. The NHS tests are crap, i tested bfn after i had serveral hpts that came back bfp. I would use fmu & test again love. Good luck.

That pregnancy test is the one i used and iam pregnant now. When i took it even a week after my period was late it wasnt darker then the testing line.So yeh id say thats positive - cant say i know anything about ovulation tests

Plus may i add i took one of those clearblue digital ones before and it said i wasnt pregnant - and i was. They are considered to be "reliable" so if you've got a positive then chances are it is correct.

This is the same test that came back positive for me (although packaged for Sainsburys) in this thread https://www.babyandbump.com/trying-to-conceive/111779-earth-going.html.

I was having symptoms and got a :bfn: with one of these and then a :bfp: two days later. Then tried a FRER and an Asda one the same as these, all :bfn:(pregnancy didn't fit with my chart at all either). This was 5 days ago that I got my positive and FF now says I am 4dpo today. Cried for a while because I thought I'd had another chemical pregnancy but had just come to the conclusion that I got a false positive.

Hope this isn't the case with you, let us know how you got on.

I am confused. These are OPK's AND pregnancy tests, or all OPK's??? If they are both, I would skip the OPK's all together. I don't think that one should be used for the other. If they are pregnancy tests that are showing up positive, bring the stick to your DR and show it to her. I would then ask for a blood test. Good luck

i agree with the other ladies... forget the OPK's as they mean nothing

the HPT's do look positive tho  guess you'll just have to wait a day or two then test again to see what happens?

best of luck hun :dust: xx
