id say its unisex, i couldnt say its more for one sex than the other... although when spelt Ashley i'd assume its a boy. And either Ashlee or Ashleigh for a girl
I guess it depends on where you live. Here in the U.S. it's a girls name and if heard no one would ever consider it to be a boy. A little boy with that name here would be endlessly teased for it. I don't know anything about name trends in other places though. being American I guess the name just rubs me the wrong way for a boy![]()
Not to be a jerk, but your setting your kid up to get made fun of once he goes to school. I have a fairly unique name, and I've met more femaies with the name than males. Its only in the last few years have I started to see some boys with my name.
Don't you want to give your kid every advantage possible? Why set them up like that? Thats putting a big "kick me" sign on their back, basically. Yeah, they may be strong enough to get over it, but why do it in the first place?
