Ashley for a boy

my eight year old boy is called Ashley - i am glad i clled him it and he likes it too

he is starting to get called ash by his mates

I hate it when people say 'he/she will get teased at school' when it's a perfectly legitimate and acceptable name. And realistically, at the most, they might get a comment or two but I doubt very much it will be an ongoing thing throughout their lives. So what, I got teased at school for being mixed race -do I care? No. Children will always find something to tease about whether it's because you're short, tall, fat, thin, wear glasses, have a birthmark etc. fair enough if you call your child something like Fifi Trixibelle or Apple

Ashley is a perfectly acceptable name for a boy and in fact, was originally a boys name before the girls 'stole' it

I like the name Ashley for a boy or girl, my daughter is called Ashlea.

I like this for a boy! My brother that passed away was called ashley, i have a male couson called Ashley and an ex Ashley lol xx

Its obviously a lot different in the US but over here a male called Ashley would never get picked on because of his name it seems really funny to me, my brother was never picked on and other males called ashley that i know never got picked on either! It seems a silly reason to pick on someone and i agree that it was a male name before it was a female name and also what someone else said that the female versions are usually spelt different. Im with Tasha I love the name Ashley and if it wasnt my brothers name i would use it if I have a little boy :-)

My boyfriends name is Ashley so i deff see it as a boys name! I love it!

My hubbys name is Ashley, so no problems here with it, Ash for short!
