****August 2010 Babies & Buddies**** - 108 Babies Born

Hon firstly breath and secondly really sounds like you could do without the stress of your aunt. What is she playing at. I don't think bleeding in pregnancy has anything to do with the sex of the baby, you know your self if you had 3 boys.

Also so many women bleed in pregnancy and some all the way through. If you do a search in this tri, there are lots of posts and positive stories with regards to bleeding and I think it is more common for women to bleed than it is not too. (if that made any sense)

Big :hugs: xxxx
yeah i totally agree cheers hun just wondered if any one else has heard this and tell me about it i don't need her stress right now the woman is making me stressed :cry:i was that upset she phoned to gloat i went to bed straight after about 4.30 and had a sleep how are you feeling is all your shopping done i'm thinking about doing my food shopping tomorrow that was only thinking asda is sooooooooo busy i'm not sure yet

flutterbaby, I think you need to let whatever your aunt says just roll off your back. She does not sound like she has your best interest at heart... and she is needling you. If she sees she has upset you then its a win for her. Just pretend like you couldnt care, say things like every pregnancy is different. I am hoping for a healthy and happy nine monthes. Just really inconsequential, unrelated answers..

I'm totally done for Christmas :happydance:, cards went out last week, wrapped all pressies last weekend and food shopping is being delivered by Mr Tesco nex Tuesday. I can' be doing with having to do it in the store and taking Eleanor too!:nope:

And Starbucket is right, you have enough to concentrate on with your own pregnancy and he boys to deal with

Wow, been busy here! Couldn't get on all weekend, said site was down for maintenance?!
Anyway, had our booking appointment on Friday - what a f*cking farce! DH booked afternoon off, DD in childminder, get to hospital, saw maidwife, checked my LMP date, said GP had written down wrong date on my referral letter, they thought I was 4 weeks further on than I am... wouldn't take a history, nothing, sent me home, after telling me I'd be getting a scan and everything. I was SO pissed off. Needless to say disappointed about scan (or lack thereof) but afterwards just pissed with my GP, as that afternoon has now cost us about 80 quid in time off work, and childminder fees. We could practically have paid for an early scan at that rate. Do I have a leg to stand of if I tried to get compensation from GP!?
Oh but I do have a date for my actual booking appointment now - 6 Jan!
Also, after deciding we weren't telling anyone yet, my friend (pissed) on Saturday asked DH why I wasn't drinking. She decided I was pg, but wouldn't come out and say it, just pestered me with obtuse remarks, oh DH one hit wonder, are you getting a pushing present, are you still playing rugby. Fuck sake, could she not just ask me!? I didn't give her a straight answer. You'd think after the first non-response you'd just give it a rest wouldn't you!? I would anyway, I think it's obvious when someone obviously doens't like the line the conversation is taking, and I wouldn't keep pestering.
In a way it'll be nice if I have someone to talk, she has just had her 2nd, but part of me is still really hacked off with her for the way she went on about in on Saturday. She was hammered though, so judgement perhaps not at it's best, but I dunno.
I am getting a lift out with her tonight, so I don't know whether to say something in the car in case she starts blabbing in front of all the others when we're out, or stick to my guns, and the we're not telling anyone yet line...

Hi ladies, lots of action on here, just catching up!

Had first midwife app yesterday she was really lovely. Said I will have regular visits to hospital / her to monitor my underactive thyroid. Should get scan through soon and have a whole heap of literature on my table to read through :haha:

Excited much! Seeing my great gran over the weekend who is in her nineties, and chilling with DH! Hope you're all good :hugs:

Symptoms wise still have sore b00bs and a lot of heartburn???

I also have underactive thyroid, but no-one has mentioned any monitoring to me? Any idea what that will involve?

Also awful heartburn, didn't get it til about 7 months with DD! Have cracked in to the renies already

Not a lot of info as yet but she said would have to have blood taken regularly so probably monthly appointments or more, and instead of going to normal place for scans will go on a particular day when they have specialist staff on for medical 'disorders' as it were - so at least I know here all my appointments will always be a Thursday afternoon!

Read it can change with pregnancy and was ready to ask but midwife brought it up so will find out more at first scan I guess.

They should monitor you because being pg can affect your thyroid so you may need the dose monitoring/updating. Hope this helps!

So happy to see August Babies filling up!!

The more the merrier. Congratulations to everyone!

Okay so im not 100% in yet, but I took a Dollar Tree test last night and with FMU today, im pretty sure there is something there! It is SUPER faint, but i think i see something! :yipee: But thats not in stone yet until i get a better positive. The line on last nights HPT and this mornings look the same - i think its just because hCG hasn't built up yet. Im going to buy some FRER sometime today. Hopefully i get respectable line, preferably one that i dont have to squint my eyes for 10 minutes to see :haha:

my thyroid problem on developed after previous pregnancy, and has been maintained/stabilised very well since, but yeah I guess regular bloods makes sense! I'll have to ask when I finally get my real appointment in jan!

Guppy, congratulations, hope the FRER shows up well for you!

Definitely mention it - I said mine had been stabilised on meds for the last 7 years and she said it could go funky which would be a shame!

Don't believe it causes any problems would just screw with energy levels I guess which is why it's worth watching as we're going to be knackered enough as it is :haha:

Have a day off tomorrow ladies and looking forward to a serious snooze fest :haha: before having my hair done in the afternoon, joy!

well i only had spotting for less than 2 hours last night! Havn't had any since!
I took my temp this morning and not only is it the highest its been this cycle, it is the highest temp i have EVER recorded while charting!!!!
Needless to say, i took a FRER & ANSWER HPT, both came out positive this morning!!!!! :wohoo:
Now, the line is VERY VERY VERY light and faint yet, but it def. appeared on BOTH tests well within the 3 minute mark! (thought i had an evap last night on FRER). I am hoping for a respectable line tomorrow! :D
