Baby and Bump Book Club!

Hey i posted in the other thread, but no-one seems to be about in there anymore :P.... IS it okay if i join in ? :) x

i hoping my book would have turned up by then!! Frigging royal mail... and plus our postman thinks its amusing to miss our flat out... pretends he doesnt know its there... but we get other post?? lol

I had to cancel my order from amazon as it said order estimate 29th of feb to 10th of march!!!!! That would be too late - how come you girls who have ordered from amazon have got yours already - not fair! I might have to go to waterstones.

Anyone started on the book yet? I must admit I haven't!! I was finishing up my last book on Monday and since then been really busy. Going to give it a good go over the weekend.

I found some questions online that might be a good start for discussion when everyone's started getting into the book:
•What was unique about the setting of the book and how did it enhance or take away from the story?
•What specific themes did the author emphasize throughout the novel? What do you think he or she is trying to get across to the reader?
•Do the characters seem real and believable? Can you relate to their predicaments? To what extent do they remind you of yourself or someone you know?
•How do characters change or evolve throughout the course of the story? What events trigger such changes?
•In what ways do the events in the books reveal evidence of the author's world view?
•Did certain parts of the book make you uncomfortable? If so, why did you feel that way? Did this lead to a new understanding or awareness of some aspect of your life you might not have thought about before?

Great questions!

I finished the book today. Do we know which one we're doing next?

Did the book club die :(

Sorry I've not been around, had a lot happening lately..

i finished reading it a while ago, where is everyone ?

Hey! How is everyone at the Book Club? Didn't manage to join in last month - had problems getting the book. Ordered it with Amazon and it was going to take ages to get it, couldn't see it at our Waterstones, so I just cancelled the Amazon order (as it was going to arrive after the book club meet - so no point). I hope I can join in this month.

Any suggestions for this month - or has everyone finished discussing the last book?

My suggestions for the next book are (only if people have finished discussing the last book) are|: 'Wolf Hall' by Hilary Mantel (amazing book), I still want to read 'Her Fearful Symmetry' recommended by another member - oh, and for a light read, what about Tess Daly's 'The Baby Diaries'?
