Baby Bugs Due February 2013

Oh hun :-( please dont take it t heart what they said, i am sure they didnt mean it in a nasty way, just probably said it without thinking. Jades tired cry is same as hunger cry to most people. I am sure he is fine x

Thanks MF. I just don't know what else I can do. I'm feeding him every 1.5-2hrs in the day. I can't stop him from vommitting it all up :nope:

Just remember he is gaining hun so some is going in :hugs: :hugs:

:hugs: GF, I'm sorry your GP made you feel bad. Calum is constantly vomitting too but he drinks an insane amount and is staying on the 75th centile - I'm also getting crap from the HV and GP for 'overfeeding to compensate the sickness'? You cant win! I think sometimes they just like to feel important.

What to they have Theo on for his reflux? We've just been given omeprazole, but its making Calum very unsettled and he just vomits the whole lot straight up again :nope: they want me to keep it up until next Friday at least though.

We're hoping to hang off to BLW as we did it with DD, but again HV is trying to convince me to start at 16 weeks. I dont know what to do  I dont want to be spoon feeding him before he's ready but at the same time if it'll help his reflux I'd feel bad hanging off just because I had the idea to BLW.

And GPs are 'general' - a specialist is the best person to be seeing :hugs:

GPs come out with these things and they just aren't specialised enough. I also think that is an awful thing to say to a Mummy :hugs:

I know he has reflux, have they looked into a dairy intolerance? Lots of slow gainers I know of are lactose intolerant x

Thanks saysib. Theo's on domperidone and ranitidine. I think the ranitidine is helpful but not sure that the domperidone is doing anything. X

Thanks AP. To be honest I don't know why he doesn't just refer Theo now to a specialist instead of hanging about.

I don't eat dairy because it gives him a gripey tummy but I have noticed that he's sick some days more than others so I wonder if there's something else I'm eating that he's intolerant of

Have you really strictly cut out dairy? Like food containing dairy - I know it is incredibly tough to be dairy free :nope:

Another common thing for babies to be intolerant to is soy - I don't know a vast amount about it though. Take a look at the Kellymom website maybe x

:hugs:

Yup, I'm super strict with dairy. I was dairy intolerant as a child so it's not too difficult. Soy's in everything but I may look into it.

Good idea re Kellymom site x

I cant believe they still havent referred you :nope: Oscar got a referral relatively easily and quickly when his reflux was bad...have you considered getting a second opinion from a diff gp?

I guess if you had an intolerance as a child that makes it a really important thing to look into.

Stamp your feet and demand a specialist!

GF I know I've mentioned this, and last time I'll bring it up, but just in case you want to discuss with the specialist the baby prevacid is also called Lansoprazole. I would really hope they would let you try it. Helped us so much and I've heard so many moms say that it helped so much more than the Zantac (ranitidine). Seriously he's a different baby.

I agree with seeing a different GP for a referral. :hugs:

Well we have gone from 2 people coming to the party to 9!! What have i got myself in for? 9 kids? *sobs* well taxi booked, clothes sorted and booking confirmed!

Today is day one of weight watchers (and tomorrow im going to pizza hut whoops) im suprised at the amount of points that i have to use. 53 points in total per day. Most meals are between 5-20 points.

Thanks guys :hugs:

TNT does Prevacid reduce whitten's vomiting? I don't think Theo's in pain from the reflux fortunately. It's more that he's constantly sick throughout the day regardless of when he last fed.

Xxx

Jem - re stuttering - phoebe started doing it about a month ago. I mentioned to HV and she said keep an eye on it and mention at 2.5 year review if not gone away but hers already has. Its just them trying to keep up with the brain and they see us speaking so wquick i think they try and do the same

15lb and they sleep through?!! What a load of shit! Judes 16lb and he wakes every 3 hrs still. Yawn!

Will miss both my babies when at the wedding tomorrow but cant wait to have some drinks!
