baby clothes in hospital bag.

I was allergic to SMA as a baby and aptamil didnt agree with Oliver so I am going to start off with what I know works :haha:

My hospital did provide formula for mums who chose not to breastfeed. I didn't need a changing mat, they provided pads to change baby on. I was also told not to use wipes/creams/lotions for at least a month. We just use water and cotton wool balls. Much nicer on newborn skin. Just check with your midwife/hospital what they do/don't provide. x

I found cotton wool horrid

I am seeing a mw tomorrow so I will speak to them about it, I am seeing her at the hospital so she might be able to give me a list there and then x

I'm going to use cotton pads and water. You get slightly bigger ones that are great for newborns, easier than cotton wool balls but much milder than normal wipes.
Also, are you sure newborn stuff will fit? My first needed 0-1 from the start so I'm taking newborn, 0-1 and 0-3. Saying that, I'm only taking one outfit (vest + sleepsuit) in each size, as I won't dress baby until we go home. It'll be skin-to-skin and blankets until then.
If we did need to stay for any reason, DH would pick up any additional stuff needed.

Newborn is upto 10lb baby should be around 8lb at the most. If it doesnt fit then oh will come home and get 0-3 I am pretty surr it will lol x

My first was just over 8lb but so long that there was no way newborn would have fitted. 0-1 only fitted for 2 weeks! But you're right, daddy can always get more supplies if needed.

Omg I has no idea you needed to take so much stuff!!! I was just gonna pack a coming home outfit and some nappies. You can tell I'm a FTM. Gonna have to take two bags now, one for bubs and one for me.

DS was very tall and still fitted lol my OH is 6ft4 but I am only 5ft4 so chance is this baby will be shorter lol

I haven't heard of size 0-1 before?

Ask mw for a list they will have one.

I just know for last time oliver was sicky and we went through lots of clothes

I am seeing the mw at hospital today so hopefully I can get a list of what I will need. The hospital website says basically everything!

The hospitals here (US) provide little cotton shirts (short sleeve, or long sleeve with built in mittens) to keep your baby in while in the hospital, along with blankets, hat, burp cloths, so when the get dirty you just toss them in their laundry bin and get another. You can bring your own clothes, but I am all for letting someone else do laundry for a couple days! I'd hate having to bring home dirty laundry, but I'm lazy :)

I would love that! I hated taking everything home to wash it lol
