Last week, I asked about being huge and most people said it was her positioning. Last night, she dropped and I was having consistent braxton hicks for two hours. Took another picture about an hour after the first and she looked like she dropped even more. I drank a bunch of water and went to bed. I was able to sleep all night, but woke up, had one braxton hicks about 3 minutes ago, and she's still low.

Should I call the doctor? My appointment is December 3. Pics to show the dropping. First was last Wednesday at 28 weeks, second and third were last night taken about an hour apart.

I think if you're worried trust your instincts and call your doctor :) in saying that though my bub dropped quite a bit at 28 weeks and even more dramatically by 30 weeks... Just had my 35 week appointment and my midwife has assured me that despite bub's head being very wedged low in my pelvis this doesn't mean she'll be early or even on time

Little one has been dropped/low/in pelvis since about 28 weeks, I'm now 38 + 6 with no sign of labor coming what's so ever. If your worried I would call your doc, but I doubt it means you'll go into labor any time soon.

I was told that 2+ babies can drop much sooner and it isn't indicative of when labour will start. So hopefully it isn't anything to worry about. But if it was me I'd definitely call the doctor for reassurance, as you had BH's too; it can't hurt to get checked.

And see, I was told the opposite. Emi's my fifth and I was told they can drop and come back up. I ended up going to labour and delivery this afternoon. I'm very dehydrated, and my blood pressure was elevated (for my normal) and even more elevated than at my last prenatal appointment, but urine was apparently clear. Her heart rate was erratic and the OB on call said it could have to do with stress, but to follow up with my OB at my next appointment. The preterm labour test was negative, so at least I know she's got at least another 2 weeks to cook.

It's actually quite common for baby's to appear to have 'dropped' around 28 weeks, as that's when the lower segment of the uterus forms and a lot of women's bumps therefore noticeably change shape around then (can be a couple of weeks either side of that, but looks like 2 others just on this thread alone had it at 28 weeks too - I had it at 26/27 weeks).

Midwives should be better at telling women about that before it happens really, as its not very well known and can cause a bit of worry - especially if other people do the whole 'oooooh that baby has dropped, it's getting ready..!' - like my mum did, haha!
And subsequent baby's after your first can 'bob' in and out of the pelvis like you say - so even if baby IS low now, she may not stay there :-)

Like I said, my 'drop' happened around the usual time (26/27 weeks) and that's when my regular BH's started too. I also had the preterm labour test at that time, which was negative. I had BH's every day from then onwards - sometimes regular, painful and for hours at a time... my baby didn't come until 37+4 :-)

When is your next OB appt, to follow up the blood pressure and things? :-)

No I wouldn't say it's anything to worry about. Babies can engage and then pop out again several times before you go into labour :)

My son dropped at 26 weeks and was born at 42 + 5, forcefully :( Did not mean anything for me.

I feel like I dropped quite early with both my girls and they were born at 41+5 and 42 weeks (both induced) so unfortunately it didn't mean anything for me. Wouldn't have wanted them here too early of course but a tiny bit earlier would have been nice ;)
