What do you moms have planned for babyshowers??? Any themes...special request??? I know i want lots of food and games...and gifts of course! My theme is probably gonna be butterflies...that might change :winkwink:....all of this is so exciting!

Love babyshower threads! My mom is planning mine and has some games picked out, its a blue and brown saffarie theme. We have lots of food and desserts picked out. Its gonna be amazing!

We dont as a rule have em in uk but i really want one!

We are having a small get together "shower", I don't like the term baby shower as people expect gifts. We are having it at a small bar and grill, like 25 people are invited, might get 20 people if we are lucky since it's on a Saturday and Saturday's are hard to get off of work. Only details I know is the invites are noah's ark theme. I may put my foot down on the cake, as I want to decorate it as we are planning on revealing the gender at that time, but my husband's grams wants the lady to make a jello cake, which I didn't really like.

As for the other details, wellll we will see when the time comes. Wasn't even sure I was having one since no one was keen on planning it for me, and I think it's shady to plan it yourself...seeing as tradition is a surprise for the new mom-to-be, so it's more of a get-together before our baby is born. xx

I'm in the UK and I am having one. Booked afternoon tea and cakes at a hotel and have someone in charge or organising fun and games.

Think more people in the UK should have one, its a nice way to include all your friends and family. Its not all about the presents, I'm not really expecting any, but any I get will be a nice bonus x

No idea on the theme of mine as my mom wants to surprise me, but I did see the favors my sister-in-law is making. They're cake "pops" with the round parts decorated as a little boy's head ... complete with pacifier. A little hard to explain, but I was so excited to see them! It somehow makes it even more "real"!

I had a nursery rhyme themed one just this last weekend and it was lovely. My SIL planned it for me. All the food had nursery rhyme names (Little boy blueberry scones, Little miss muffet raspberry truffet, Goldilocks tea sandwhichs, and bakers man brownies). We played a name that nursery rhyme game, and she put stickers on everyones back with Disney/Nursery character names on them and everyone had to try and figure out who was on their back. Also she got a baby book and blank paper then assigned everyone a letter and had them draw a picture for their letter so we could put it in the baby book as a keepsake ABC book for when he gets older.

My mom is not interested in bubs, haven't asked how I'm doing and how bubs is doing. threads like these bring tears to my eyes. I'm happy for everyone that could have this special opportunity and that your moms will be arranging it. Sorry if I am negative. I just wish I could have one as well since this is our first bubs and she will be named after my mom.

I'm going to my friend's shower this month and making thank you cards with little gifts for everyone.

I don't know if we are having a baby shower, my mom was going to throw me one, but that's all gone to ashes now.

Sorry some of you ladies don't have a mom to throw you one, my mom lives 1,000 miles away and is no part of the shower we have planned. I had to twist arms just to organize one or get people involved in it so it doesn't seem like I am the one planning. If you want one, have a get together with some friends and have baby themed decorations, make it about yourself, even if certain members of your family aren't interested, could do it for yourself. xx :hugs:

we don't have them really on the UK :( Hope you have lots of fun

i am having a "miss monkey" theme bc that is the theme of the nursery. we have it booked at a restaurant that serves a brunch buffet with mimosas and all! i am sooo excited! i can't wait to get everything and set it up!

my bestfriend is doing mine and the invites are cute little monkeys, and since I am having a girl my colors are either gonna be pink/brown or lavendar/brown. Havent really decided. She also has some fun games to play. One game that is fun is called "Winner takes ALL" & the way u play this game is u get raffle tickets and sell thm for $1.00 (the host puts the money in a container) & @ the end of the baby shower the host will call out the winning ticket. The host brings the winner a big box with the "Winner takes ALL" gift, & the funny part is the gift is a big bottle of ALL detergent. The money goes straight to the baby, so its fun to collect the money in a baby bank.

me and my mom are planning mine. we are having jungle theme. although not playing many games cause my mom doesnt want to...she doesnt want decorations either so i took it upon myself to get some :)

Mine is a surprise so I have no clue on theme, games etc... My mom and sister aren't very good at keeping secrets at all. lol Well at least I don't know when they are planning it for!

I'll just be happy to see all my friends and family together. :)

My OH's mom, sister and my best friend are planning mine (they all are so excited, they all wanted a part in the planning process lol). My friend is a graphic designer, so I'm sure she is planning on doing some cool/cute invites and games...

I'm going to have more of a Baby Shower BBQ...it will be co-ed, and more of a laid back get together/party rather than an all girls thing. I have a huge family, so including them + friends, I have a count of about 75 people being invited (not including children). I am just excited to get with everyone, eat lots of great food and spend time with good friends and family.

So sorry for those that have mothers that are not close, or live close to throw you one. Sometimes bestfriends will throw baby showers for you. If baby showers not the "done" thing around the area, there is always a time to make it, and everyone will follow.
I'm pretty excited for mine! I have it november 20th and can't wait! My husband is feeling a little left out, so him and his friends will be going a few acres down the property into the pit and shoot their guns and have some man time.

My Mom is throwing me one, but I made her promise to make it small and simple. I personally don't like all the shower games, going all out for decorating, etc, so it's really just going to be a small get together to eat and celebrate. Which is just the way I want it :)

I'll be having 2 - one in Tampa being thrown by a couple friends and held at my moms house. That one will be coed because the majority of our friends are there and we're friends with both the boys and girls in the couples. But I'm not going to make the boys stay inside for the girly stuff. They'll be outside on the lanai doing their man stuff, lol. Then hubby's cousin (and my good friend) is throwing us one in St Louis which will be mostly their family. I don't know the theme of either or anything that will happen. I'm happy to just show up and see the people we love!

I'm having 2 baby showers. My mom is throwing me a pink and white girly one...exactly what I want :) I'm actually helping my mom quite a bit as originally my mom and mil we're gonna do it together but since my mil is a hag, she's doing her own seperate one. I'm also doing cake pops as well like another poster mentioned. 3 different kinds - 1 "cupcake", 1 pink with white dots, and 1 chocolate with pink sprinkles. Everything will be pink and white as for decor. pink table cloths, with a white tablecloth in the middle, white cutlery, pink gerber daisies as centerpieces, confetti on tables, balloons, hanging pompoms from the ceiling, and other cutesy decor. I can't wait. Of course lots of yummy food, drinks, games and gifts!
