Hi All,

I've just called in to the fertility clinic and gave the green light to go ahead with IVF/ICSI - I'm very excited. After nearly 3 years of TTC I finally feel like this is our real chance. It's the 3rd day of my cycle and they are having me start birth control pill today. Have anyone done this before? And if so...for how long were you on it? A friend was on for 6 weeks so I'm wondering if that's the norm or is it case by case? Any answers would be appreciated...gotta keep my brain busy until I go in next week for an appt.

My consent package arrived. They said it's usually between 2-5 weeks...in case anyone wondered :)

Hi Hun,

Didnt want to read and run, you may get more responses in the assisted conception forum. There seems to be a few clinics which start people off on the BCP to give the ovaries a rest. My clinic doesnt seem to do this but quite a few others do.

Do you have any other dates for starting IVF meds? Im starting hopefully at the end of the month and am quite excited too!!!

love fluffy xx

Thanks for the tip! I go in for my saline ultrasound on the 27th and they will be giving me my timetable that day. I'm soooo excited/nervous/anxious. I had briefly discussed with my FS in the summer but we decided we wanted to exhaust all other options first to try and save the $10,000 is possible. I called in to say we wanted to go ahead and they sent over a prescription for BCP and sent the package in the mail...so I don't have as much info as others probably do. Maybe we'll be around the same time...since you're skipping the BCP part that I'm doing now. Are you in North America?

Im in the UK. There is a thread for those goingthrough IVF in november in the assisted conception board, you could join that!

Im having an ultrasound scan on the 27th to check I have ovulated, as im irregular, so they can see if im equivalent of cd21 and then I should be able to start the down regging drugs and get the timetable for the rest of it all. Its all quite overwhelming and sooo much to get your head around but bit by bit it gets there!!

Good luck next weds with your scan. Let me know what your timetable is whenyou get it too.

Hey hun,

I start my injections on nov 4 :) Should be having ER on the 14 and ET on the 19th.

Thats great! I saw you joined the november thread too! Hopefuly we are all lucky and get BFP on there xx

BCP is helpful in that they can control exactly where your body is at to time things "perfectly" if there is such a thing. Also they can control your dates this way to work around their schedules. xo

Goodluck and see you in the nov thread.
