BFP followed by BFN???

Hi everyone,

AF is now 11 days late. So i tested a couple of days ago with a superdrug test and got a BFP, but i only had one in the house, so i ran out and bought first response and they were BFN. I'm totally confused. Not sure what to think. With my first son i was 6 weeks pregnant before any test picked it up, so wondering if maybe i just have a naturally low hormone level or something. or maybe not pregnant?? I have read the internet and according to everything i read false positives are VERY rare. Wondered if anyone had an opinion on false positives?

Hi!

I`m in similar shoes. Thin, but positive line the day before yesterday, BFN yesterday, and another very thin line this morning. Different brands have different sensitivity level and some can pick up less hormones. Also, it may depend on how concentrated your urine is. If you've been drinking a lot eg. during the day, it would be more diluted, that's why lots of test still say that best is first morning.

I keep trying with different brands - one faint positive line could be evaporation, or fault line, but if you can replicate it, I think you just need to wait long enough until it becomes BFP

thanks. it definitely wasn't an evap...was a pretty pink colour. lol. i know the superdrug ones are REALLY sensitive but then first response are meant to be too. I took the superdrug one in middle of the day(bfp), then took a first response at night(bfn), then took another first response next morning (bfn). thinking i should get some more superdrug ones and see if i get a bfp again on same brand, or if it was a faulty test.

In my exp of testing....a positive line is a positive line

You dont really get false pos lines lol

mrsessex - my husbands friend said same thing to him last night, apparently she used to work in a pharmaceuticals and she said that you can't get false positives. totally confused, i want to be able to trust it but don't want to get excited and end up devastated if I'm not.

With my second pregnancy - I remember testing one morning and neg line.. then the next a pos line...second strip test no line...

But knew i was pregnant as had been before with my first and just 'knew' lol

Id be shocked if you wasnt!

Congrats sound to me like you are,, I did 4last week when I got a positive all clearblue digitals and I defo am pregnant

AWWW congrats lesley!!

WEll i've done another test tonight and it was a BFN, and i suspect AF is on her way as i've had some spotting tonight, so suspect AF will be here by morning .

well the spotting hasn't come to anything and it only happened that once last night. i've spent the whole night feeling so sick, and don't feel any better this morning. really don't know what to think, could well be a tummy bug the fact that its lasted so long, totally confused.
