Can i also ask what is the head circumference of your babies? Izzy's head is on the 98 centile, and even though she is a big girl her head still looks huge on her body! I have got paranoid about it.

I will have to check her red book but oddly enough Chloe's head was on a smaller growth line?!? Need to get the tape mesure out as sure don't think that is the case now.

they have height measurements in the clothes as they get bigger, like ds1's jeans say up to 92/93cm im not sure what age that stops at though, it can get annoying though caus my DS1 has short legs for his height and a long torso and i can no longer get vests that fit so he almost always has a bare gap around his middle

Just got lil' lady weighed and she is a whopping 10lb 13oz now at just over 4 weeks! Go mummy milk x

how much was she at birth?,
Elliot was 10lb 12 at birth ( 4880gms ) but lost 400gms in the first 5 days but got MW coming again tomorrow to weigh him so will see how he is then,

9lb11 at birth, down to 8lb 8 3 days after and huge now!

induced and under 8 hours from start to finish which was nice, natural delivery very quick he went from 5-6cm to crowning in 30 min and i almost had him in the hospital bathroom, had gone for a pee when my waters went and i put my hand down and could feel his head and barely made it back out to the bed 7 mins or so of pushing and he was out

thanks, mw hasnt discharged us from hospital care yet as Elliott is stil below his birth weight at 4620grms but im not worried about him hes eating and sleeping well and plenty of soaking wet and dirty nappies

Re:head circumference. Earl has always looked in pretty good proprtion but he's on the 91st I think....17.5inches at 5 months. He's long though (75th line I think?) and his chunkiness kind if evens him out.

I've put Earl into 2 piece pyjamas now - easier for nappy changes/leaks too as well as fitting for longer!

I'm a little bit upset though. Went to see my Mum on Tuesday and she said that Earl was fat and that a baby that big 'isn't normal'. Bear in mind that I was over 10lb at birth and always big for my age up to about 10! Really upset me though....never expected my Mum to say anything like that.

Hello :wave: can i join? My little man was 10lb 8oz at birth and now weighs 27lb! He is on the 99th line for head and length and above the last line for weight! Billy wears mostly 12-18 clothes now but i hate the difference in sizes between shops i bought some 12-18 tops and trousers from primark and they are tiny, they are more like 6-9 month clothes. Will dig out some pics of Billy so you can all see my large boy.

Okay, last head measurement she was on 50th centile but that was at 6 week check!

Length she is at 98th centile but was at 91st @ 6 wks
Weight at 6 wk was 91st and still is 91st

Sorry to hear what your mum said aimee, he is gorgeous and in proportion, why do people feel the need to comment? I call Izzy chubba but hate it when other people bang on about her size!

Scally - I agree, the way we call our LO's is different to how others comment. Its not nice when other people say things.

I wish I had an old picture of my nephew to show everyone, he was a super-chubbster when he was a baby, I mean constant creases at his wrists etc. Filled out everything. He did have a few health problems when he was little, his bigness wasn't due to overfeeding or anything, it's just how his body was at the time. Now he is a normal looking lanky 11 year old, you would of never known!

my Lo got called a wee fat f*** by a close family member. Im really angry and yet to have chance to say something to this person but believe me i will,even meant as a joke (was said in tone as jokingly) i dont care,he's a baby.i call him a wee bloater and it doesnt bother me if someone comments on how big he is,i love his size but in no way is he fat and esp not a wee fat f***.......

sorry,im so angry,rage over....... i went and bought bigger size clothes for him so he's now in 6-9months at 11 weeks lol...wee star xx

Hi Ladies!
Just got back from Emma's 6mth doc appt. She's now 22lbs 12oz and just a little shy of 29 inches long The doctor made another Weight Watchers joke- she did it last time too and it really bothers me. Emma's equally big in both the height and weight department so really there isn't any problem since it's all proportional and obviously she's too young to understand what the doctor is saying but does make me a little worried for the future. I would be horrified if she made a weight watchers joke when Emma's 4yrs old and would be old enough to both know what the joke means and remember it. Hopefully I'm just overthinking it.

Aimee & c1reid- those comments would have pissed me too.

EJ got weighed by the HV today and is over the 5kg mark by day 17 hes 98centile in everything even head circumference and hes a long wee boy too at 59cm

Kaites: It is so thoughtless, unprofessional and inappropriate that she said that, do you have to go back for another check sometimes? Grr poor Emma - and you If you have to and it's said again maybe say something back to them?

Thanks Kte. There were a couple of other things that left me feeling crappy about the appt too. It sucks because she's my family doctor, also my parent's doctor too and I've liked her up until now and it's ridiculously hard to find a family doctor around here (DH doesn't actually have a family doctor) I pointed out to the doctor that Emma is proportional but if she makes a comment like that again next time, I may have to be more direct and tell her to lay off the jokes.

Hey everyone
just an update, i got Harriet weighed today and she is now 21lb 2oz at 45 weeks

shes just under 75th now, and shes also been standing up on her own too

glad everyone is doing well, and i hope we are all ignoring the heartless comments !!

we got one the other day, ''how old is she now?'' ''she will be 1 next month.'' ''Really? is that all!? she looks bigger, i thought she was older. shes big''
