I was looking at some things for Chloe today and then thought - actually I need her with me!

Thats a good idea Faun about the sizing. I wrote down all the weight limits on size clothing, but that doesnt even correlate to the weight of Izzy so that was that out the window!!!! I find i have i put Izzy in dresses alot as skirts/trousers tend to dig into her stomach when she is sitting up, but the dresses are so short!!!! Will have to get some frilly knickers underneath!!!

i dont bother with the weight measurements on clothes i stick to actual size measurements and realise that having long bodied babies means that they might be a cm or 2 short of the length and still need to go up a size in vests and babygros

I think even now, for me, finding the right clothes is a problem, all shops seem to say different things. Ah well, always a good excuse for a shop!

oh god i hate the clothes sizing!! so annoying,

i find Harriet is more long than chubby so to speak which is hard because i need bigger sizes for length and smaller sizes to keep them on her around her stomach, i think they should do an 'awkward baby size' store

its exactly what i have with EJ at the moment 0-3 is still too wide for him but its getting too short for him

some 0-3 month are to tight some are big. some 3-6 fit but some are to long or the neck is to big :S

Hi!! Can I join?
Connor is just over 6 weeks old, and when I weighed him today he was 12lbs 6oz. He was 8lbs 2oz at birth.
My mom says he weighs too much for his age, and that I must feed him too much. She thinks he going to be a fat kid, if I don't start cutting back how much I give him.

Well, Jacob is now 14 weeks old and weighed 17lb 10oz last Mon when he was weighed..hes on the 98th percentile which is where he was at birth so hes just following his trend i guess, tho we have some super cute chubby legs going on now lol! The mad thing is we have only just swapped over to 3-6mth clothes and he is still in about 3 0-3 dungaree outfits! Going by the weight guides he should be out of 3-6 any time now but hes only just got into them, hes not short either, hes on the 98th for length too. I was going to start on his 6-9 wardrobe but havent a clue when he will be in them so dont know if it should be summery shorts etc or slightly warmer stuff..arghhhh lol

Kel dont worry about over feeding him m you cant actually overfeed a baby or young child you can only give the wrong types of food when weaning etc or when they are older the cant take too much milk they sick it back up, my ds1 went through a really chubby stage at 4-6 months then thinned out and hes a solid but not fat 22 month old

Are you big too? Im just curious to see if theres a link with parents being big and their lo's.

Im size 20 so am big and oh is 6ft and 17 stone so i guess its to be expected that logan is a big boy??

im just under 5ft8 and 70kg with a 10-12 waist, DH is 6ft6 with a size 40 waist and is about 130kg, strange thing is big babies come from my side of the family, my husbands family were all under 8lbs at birth

Hi everyone, and hello to the newbies!! :wave:

To asnwer the question: I'm 5ft4 and a size 12, hubby is 6ft2 and not exactly heavy, but we were both big babies and chubby to boot lol. When we were pregnant the MW took my details and said she predicted a 6lber.....I said if I get that I'll be surprised! lol. In the end he was 9lb6 lol. I suppose there was a 6 in there lol.

Hahaha so i guess it doesnt really relate much then lol.

My 1st was 9lb at 38 weeks, my second was 8lb13 at 38 weeks and logan was 8lb11 at 36 weeks... i dread to think how big he would of been!!!

Chloe was born on her due date weighing 11lbs 14oz. It has now thankfully slowed down, and she hasnt even doubled her birth weight. her last weigh in 2 weeks ago she was 20lbs 7oz, but she has to have another check this week as she may have slowed down a little to much!!she eats loads! she is in 9-12 month clothes BUT its only because of her length! she would be in 6-9 otherwise!

I'm 6ft2 and a size 14, and OH is 5ft10 and 32-34" waist, and bubs was 9lb11oz at birth!

Just got Fi weighed today and she is 11lb9oz at 7 weeks old, and 63cms long! eeek.. its so bad at the moment that her feet are at the bottom of all her 3-6month sleepsuits :O x

im 5'9 and OH is 6'5 i was only size 10 pre-pregnancy so it must of been her dad!!

Chloe's weight gain goes like this;

birth 11lbs 14oz
11 days 11lbs 8oz HC 38.4cm
17 days 12lbs 2oz
3 weeks 12lbs 14oz
5 weeks 14lbs 1oz HC 39.3 length 60.5cm
7 weeks 14lbs 14oz
10 weeks 16lbs 3oz
15 weeks 18lbs 2oz length 63.5 (i think they mesured wrong tho!!)
20 weeks 18lbs 15oz HC 43.5cm length 69cm
23 weeks 19lbs 13oz
28 weeks 20lbs 7oz
