Hello! Can I come in?!

Had my little girl just under a month ago and she was a huge 9lb 11oz and 56cms! she is too long for all her 0-3 sleepsuits already but 3-6 swamps her so have taken to chopping off the feet now :) I'm 6ft2 and OH is 5ft11 so she has all the giant mother genes I'm sure. She dropped to 8lb8 in the first 3 days and was up to 9lb7 last week. Getting her weighed tomorrow and Im convinced she is 10lbs now at least :O! x

Hahahaha that is so true! im waiting for the leg poppers to pop off in all directions too  x

Lol we had one like that, poppers busting at the seams: OH kept saying she was 'showing a bit of leg' naught girl  :haha:

lol, sounds like you've got an exhibitionist on your hands Kte :) We've actually worn out some of the poppers in the crotch area of her sleepers from all the bursting at the seams action. She must have a long torso

Hey girls can I join too - another big girl here!

Isla was 8Ib 9oz at birth at 21 weeks she was 18Ib 5oz, she wears 9-12 months sleepsuits and although a tad long the poppers wont often stay done up near her chunky thighs! She's around the 95th/98th centile for weight and around the same for height.

My other daughter (21 months between them) was 8Ib 10oz at birth and is also tall for her age, she was less at 21 weeeks though - 17Ibs
I'm around 5 foot 10 and hubby's 6 foot 2, so she's got the tall gene.

I like having bigger babies, they didn't seem so fragile as newborns and when they're ill at least they have a bit of chunk to see them through!

I'll have to try and post a picture of my beauties!

Thanks for starting the thread ;-)

xx

Panda97  welcome!

Would be good to see pikkies :)

Hello everyone!
Ruby was only 7lb 2oz and 51cm at birth, but now at 11 months she's 24lb and 78cm!
That puts her in the 91st percentile for weight and the 99.6th for height.
OH and I are modest heights, I'm 5'6 and he is 5'8. However my younger brother is 6'4 so maybe Ruby is taking after him!
That said, I was a fast weight gainer as a baby. I was only 6lb7oz at birth but quickly shot to the top of the graphs. I was the tallest in my class all the way through primary school, but then things slowed down.

When I meet up with my friends from antenatal class Ruby just dwarfs the other babies!

She has always been a big milk drinker and did not get into solids until 7.5 months, BLW, despite silly HVs/friends/family/colleagues/neighbours/strangers telling me I'd need to wean early :)

 Hello & welcome Mum2be_Claire,

Thats interesting that she didn't start until 7.5 months, its good to know! Chloe is still happy on her milk, she has just gone 5 months and I can see her being a bit longer before she starts being interested in other food. I have had pressure from people to wean her already but I'm not forcing her. I keep reviewing it but she just isn't interested yet.

Hey :hi:
may i join?

im not too sure Harriet fits here much anymore though.. ill introduce us first :D!!

Birth weight: 8lb 14.5oz
Our Heights: OH.. 6ft2 & me: 5ft3
Our Birth weights: OH.. 7lband a half & me: 6lb13 and i was always short!

Last wiegh in was at 36 weeks old , approz 8 months (shes 44 weeks now so i really should get her wieghed again!) and was 19lb6oz
Between 50th and 75th

current length 75cms which for her age is almost 98th. She used to be right off the chart but since shes got bigger all her growth has slowed.

people comment on how much older/bigger she looks because shes forward for her age and her body is small for her head :haha: so at a glance she looks about 18 months

she has NEVER lost weight :happydance: but alway been tall, she was too long for first size clothing at birth! and at the moment she can fit in 6-9, in fact its too big! but i have to find clothes in 9-12m+for the length but they dont fit her waist

i will update with details when shes weighed this week :haha:

hope we stil belong here? :D she not really little so we wouldnt fit anywhere else :haha:

off to upload pics for you to see in my next post :D :hugs: x

Hellloooo, im Mummy to Jacob who was 10lb 3oz at birth and now at 11 weeks is over 16lbs..hes long too (bad me forgets how long tho lol). Even tho he was a big un at birth i had to go out and buy newborn stuff as his 0-3 swamped him..we are still in 0-3 now although im making the swap over to 3-6 gradually.
Hes a very chatty Baby and as hes big people assume hes much older than he is..then look like they dont belive me when i say hes x weeks old..like i would lie heh.
It annoys me when people comment on his size..We went the chemist the other day to pick up some eye cream for his sticky eye, the pharmacist said Jakes name so we walked up and he said is this Jacob so i said yep, he asked his age so i said hes 10 weeks old, to which he replied ''ooh isnt he chubby for 10 weeks, bet he eats alot'' i looked at the guy and snnorted and replied ''your a fine one to talk, fatty!' and walked out..the guy was huge and was commenting on my Babies size..i dont think so! lol
Heres my little Chubster (i can call him that but strangers bloody cant lol)..

Coming home from hospital

Ahhh bless him, he is gorgeous, love the reply to the fat guy!!! lol

Ok i'm having a rant about clothes sizing (again) we went to asda yesterday and got her 9-12 jeans and a 12-18 month top, i love the top so tried it on her today and its only a little too big (are skin tight clothes in fashion now!!???) and the jeans are a bit snug round the waist!!! SHE'S ONLY 7 MONTHS!!! WTF?

Sounds very familiar Scally. I am currently in the market for some more baby grows as his 9-12s are too tight around the calves (not the thighs, the calves! lol) It's crackers! I'm glad that I didn't spend a lot on them....I think 3 of them were off e-bay and then the others were an ASDA special. I have to say, I've bought a few pairs of 12-18 shorts for the summer, and they fit him perfectly - a little long but they just look like cropped trousers lol. Hoping this sunny weather keeps on coming then we may actually get to wear them! lol

Floralaura- Jacob is such a cutie!

Re clothing sizes, we're having a similar problem. Emma's 12-18mth shorts are a little snug already and so are a couple of her 9-12 mth t-shirts. I think some of the outfits are meant to be a little snug (like her yoga pants and some of her long sleeve t-shirts) but it isn't helping our size problem, lol :) I had to put away the last of her 9-12 mth sleepers the other day. She's really long in the torso so I think I'm going to look for 2 piece pjs next time round- I suppose the good thing about her getting so big is that it's easy to find 2 piece pjs in 24mth/2yr old size.

ds1 is totally into 2-3 clothes now and fast growing out of some of them but im annoyed with sizings the Asda 2-3 jeans are really long compared to the primark ones or tescos ones, right now im just looking inside to see if they have a measurement in them rather than just the printed size/age so i can tell what will fit and what wont,

Welcome to our newest members : sarah0108, Floralaura

sarah0108 ~ She sounds like she fits in here! :flower: Did you manage to get her weighed? I hate being back at work for the fact that I can't weigh Chloe properly anymore, need some scales . . . the bathroom ones lie, honest! :haha:

Floralaura ~ Gorgeous pics . . . the cheek of the sales person! I don't know how people can say such things!!

Scally: ~ Some of Chloe's tops are like that, they end up riding up her chest so I have to put funky baby vests on underneath!

Aimee: ~ I'm just going to use all of Chloe's current trousers as shorts come summer time! They fit once then turn into 3/4 lenth so soon they will be shorts! Must be harder for boys though, I can kind of cheat and stick a dress and tights on Chloe.

Kaites: ~ Chloe has some two piece PJ's which are lasting much longer, although it's kinda sad as I love the baby sleeper suit look on her!

I'm not sure if I have mentioed it before but I have started to air dry all her clothes again (did this before she was born) becasue the tumble dryer just shrinks clothes even more even on a cool setting and she really doesn't need any help growing out of things!

lynnikins: Do they have ages / measurements in the clothes for when they get older, the whole weight thing confuses me!

Can i also ask what is the head circumference of your babies? Izzy's head is on the 98 centile, and even though she is a big girl her head still looks huge on her body! I have got paranoid about it.
