Bigger Babies Club

HEllo all,

Hope everyone and their LO's are doing well :flower:

Kaites: Maybe as she is so relaxed due to seeing your family she thinks it's okay to make these jokes? If she carries on I think your right to say something. It's just not good coming from a doctor is it! Sorry she made you feel crappy :hugs:

sarah0108: Well done Harriet on standing up! :happydance: People should really use better terms than bigger. I mean 'I though she was older' and leaving it at that isn't too bad or just plain 'oo she doesn't look her age does she'. :hugs:

Words like bigger used to make me feel like I was oversised, like I stuck out and so I felt awkward and self conscious sometimes. Mad looking back as it was people not thinking that made me feel that way! Out LO's are lucky we are here to help them against these things! x

i agree KTE :)

personally i dont think shes hugely BIG anyway  she certainly has evened out now shes older, even though shes above average, so there isnt really a need to comment on her size or anything.

Even if she was Massive or Tiny its not there business anyway :winkwink:

im kind of dreading what comments ill get once this one is here!! im pretty sure he will be big like Harriet was so ill get the big comments when hes born too, as well as everyone saying Harriets huge because she will look big compared to him!
argh haha

good job we have this thread to come and let off our steam eh girls :haha: x x

arrrgh, Nate is nearly outgrown his size 2-3 pjs , kinda glad its getting into wamer weather so he can go to bed in a shirt and nappy and not need pjs every night,

Hi everyone - hope we're all ok. We're great. Earl is great...learnng new mischevious things everyday lol.

Big baby question for everyone....is anyone else worried that you'll run out of nappy sizes? Earl is currently in 4+ in the day, and 5s at night. We normally buy baby dry but I decided to try active fit and they seem much better (pampers btw). They don't seem to cut into those chunky thighs as much lol.

Problem is....Earl isn't even 6 months yet!! lol. There's only so many nappy sizes lol. Is anyone else that by 12 months there'll be no more sizes and we'll have to use tea towels or something lol :dohh: I have been thinking about getting cloth nappies (obviously more flexible) since Earl was 3 months, but each month there's always something else to buy/do :dohh:

lol after about 6 months then they start to grow upwards as well as outwards so their waists dont actually go up that much , DS1 is in size 5 but was in 4's and 4+'s forever it seemed , I also find Tescos own brand or Asdas own brand fit better than pampers or huggies on bigger babies

I was worried that Emma was going to outgrow her one-size cloth diapers too but over the past month, she seems to have lengthened out more. Her weight is still climbing, but she's looking a bit leaner (probably just an optical illusion, lol!). I'm sure once they get mobile and burn a few more calories in a day, they'll stay in the same size a bit longer too. It is worrying though when it doesn't look like the growing is going to slow down anytime soon- keeping Emma clothed is costing a small fortune!

Hiya girls thought i would join :)

Logan was 8lb 11 at 36 weeks!! He grew out of newborn at 2 weeks and grew out of 0-3 at 7 weeks so he is 10 weeks atm and in 3-6 clothes :)

Everyone who sees him asks how old he is and when i say they all comment on how big he is!!

He was weighed at 8 weeks and was 12lb11oz!!

Sometimes i wonder how on earth was he in my belly?

 Hello & Weclome xerinx

Such a cute avatar picture, I love his expression like he is having a good ponder about something!

AWWW thanks :) he was only 2 weeks old there and had a proper grumpy face from day 1!!

He is sooo expresionate (if thats a word?) I love all his lil faces lol.

yeah i agree your pic is fantastic, i dont get as much chance to take pictures of EJ as i did with Nathaniel i really ought to make more of an effort

Ive taken far too many pics!! have already filled 1 album and on way to filling 2nd one and hes only 10 weeks!! Im a bit snap happy!!!

i have so many of Nathaniel, need to get out some proper outfits for EJ and make an effort when hes awake

Its had work tho isnt it!! All my photos of logan when he was younger were of him asleep.. its so much better now he doesnt sleep much during the day :)

Earl is costing me a Just to give you an idea, I bought him a full set of 9-12m last month, so have been buying little bits of 12-18m as we go along to avoid that big outlay again. I don't think people realise (I know I certainly didn't) just how many clothes you actually need for a child that's this sort of age. For about a month now, I've needed to actually dress Earl in 'proper' clothes during the day as his pyjamas were getting battered! lol But, today Earl is wearing a 9-12m vest, some small-side 12-18m shorts (look like cropped trousers lol) and a staggeringly small 2-3 years t-shirt (Tesco sizes really are appalling!)

I have a list of minimum 'must-haves' essential wardrobe that I stick to so that I know I have enough clothes to last a week lol:

7 vests
7 pyjamas
4 t-shirts
2 pull-overs
4 pairs of trousers
socks
1 x overcoat

I can only imagine what it's like having a girl! lol

As for pictures - I have (at last count) 1200!! I try to take at least 1 every day so that I can see how he has changed - it's really nice to occasionally sit and look through them. Need to get them printed and backed up soon though...that's going to be expensive!

Theres plenty of sites online that offer free digital printing hun :) you just pay postage its how ive printed all mine!!!

lol ds1 lived in babygrows mainly in the summer, good news though they stop going outwards about 6 months old and go upwards for a while instead so often can stay in the same size clothes a bit longer if they are long enough

Aimee: Good planning  I think its worse for those with boys as I feel lucky that I can stick a dress and tights on Chloe which seem to last longer than pants/ trousers - her trousers don't last long at all. Infact, to make them last longer I stick tights under them too! (Hence attached pic!) I have been lucky as we were donated lots of clothes by 3 different people otherwise we would of been seriously stuck!

Did you get the photo link for the free pictures I PM'd you? Mine turned up yesterday :D I have 1000's too, I know there are free photo sites out there but I don't think enough! :haha: I just get snap happy, like this morning I just HAD to take a picture of Chloe's bed head! Her hair was sticking up all over the place!

lynnikins - upwards is the problem for Chloe, and I am sure for a few others, it's her length more than anything!

We're having length issues too- she's officially too long for baby-gros now  she's too long for the 18-24mth ones and that's as big as I've found around here. It seemed to happen overnight too. I think most of Emma's length must be in her torso like her daddy. We've started dressing Emma in dresses more often too.

I need to start printing off photos soon too. I keep putting it off 'cause its going to cost a small fortune!

can i join :flower:
Kailees 10 weeks and shes 14 lbs 3 oz her 0-3 barly fit :( and she was mistaken for a 5 month old the other day at a baby group because shes as big as one of the 5 month olds! she was 7 lb 8 oz at birth.

Hi everyone, how are everyones lo's? Billy is good he is still growing steadily :) I love my little chubster but it really annoys me how people comment on his size if one more person says he will be a rugby player i'm going to hurt someone. Yesterday i took my oldest son for a playdate with his friend and this kids mum looked at Billy and said he's not getting any smaller is he? WTF, I mean what a stupid thing to say he's a baby of course he isn't going to shrink.
Any how i went to get some new clothes for Billy and the size difference between shops is crazy he now wears any size between 12-18 and 2-3 years depending on where clothes come from it drives me round the bend the amount of clothes i have had to take back because they were tiny! Anyway rant over perhaps it would be a good idea to compare shops that have good sizing for longer or bigger babies.
