Birth control to regulate af..

Are any of you ladies using birth control to get your cycles back on track from after having a baby?
It has been 9 months since I gave birth to our perfect daughter but it seems like my body isn't going back to "normal". I was wondering how long it took for it to regulate your cycles? we are planning to ttc for #2 possibly soon but I know its impossible with my cycles how they are now.

My cycle was out of whack after my MC and I was bleeding far too long, so they put me on the pill for a month to stop the bleeding and "restart" my system. Wouldn't you know, it worked, and I got pregnant when I came off it.
