BLW - what did your LO eat today?

Fab eating!! What did your HV say about BLW?

Fellow smoothie fans here - we have the sticks, and Elizabeth goes insane with joy when she sees them!

Thank you. I'm so proud of him :cloud9: The HV's made me keep a food diary of what he was eating. Bearing in mind he was 6 months old at the time and BLW can be slow starting. When I reported back they said he wasn't getting enough and every BLW story they knew of ended up with the child being under nourished. They used one example of a little girl who was so under nourished she had no energetic and didn't walk until they started TW. Scare tactics basically as they don't fully support it. Their tactics worked so I started a combination of BLW and SF. Elliott started rejecting the spoon and taking things out of his mouth about 5 weeks ago so I went back to what I originally wanted to do and will never look back :D

Elliott goes crazy for the Innocent Squeezies too and does his extreme hunger/"I'm never fed" noise when he sees them lol!

Ahhhh. Now I understand why Ruby won't walk at 16 months. We need to get spoonfeeding her! :dohh: hahaha

Yesterday Bun had:

B: Oatmeal, homemade biscuit
S: Sweet potato pancake, oat bar
S: More sweet potato pancake
D: Tomato-spinach sauce, quinoa, 1/2 elk burger patty

Love the piccie!

Ahhh, and Claire, I reckon BLW is why DD doesn't have her teeth yet, too ;)

Well...today has been interesting. DD has been into cheese!

B: Cheerios with banana, porridge with...yes, plum compote
Sn: Smoothie stick
L: Philly on rice cakes, chunk of cheese, pasta twirls, courgette...rejected roast chicken with a very diva-ish arm sweep. Custard
Sn: Organix carrot puffs
D: Cheese, sweet potato mash, broccoli...rejected cod and carrots. Fromage frais with (yes, you've guessed it...) baked plums and pears!

Today:

B: ready brek
L: spaghetti hoops with a few cocktail sausages (was at my mums, really need to ask her to get healthier food in!), half a yoghurt, melon pieces
D: pasta in a tomato, sweet potato & carrot sauce with sweetcorn, innocent smoothie stick.

Today Elliott ate-

B-Cheerios with a splash of whole milk and a banana
S-2 rice cakes, breadstick and an Innocent squeezy
L-Cheese on toast with baked beans. 1 plum, handful of blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, Rachel's yoghurt, 1 biscuit
D-Chicken bites, new potatoes with herbs and plum tomatoes. 2 plums, box of raisins and a handful of blueberries.

Adam has had:

b: 1/2 Weetabix and 3 mini shredded wheat & milk, whole banana, 3 strawberries, few dried cranberries, 1 prune, rejected nectarine
lunch part 1 (we were going out): taste of a sardine & cream cheese sandwich (rejected with a look of disgust :( ), small piece of cold chicken, few mini Ella's Kitchen breadsticks
lunch part 2 (while we were out): 2 drop scones with pumpkin seed butter, another taste of the sardine sandwich (went the same way as the first taste), 1 breadstick
snack: a large rice cake with Philadelphia & Marmite, a plum, rejected nectarine again
d: quite a large piece of cheese & onion quiche, 1.5 potato wedges (:D ), 1 piece of broccoli, 6 prunes, most of an apricot

B: shreddies. Refused blueberries after a taste, threw raspberry without tasting.
L: dairylea snack pack, carrot cake, banana
S: humzinger
D: salmon wiith watercress sauce, tiny bit ofbroccoli, half a small jacket potato, refused carrot. Greek yogurt & grapes

Today Helen had:

B: whole banana, mini shredded wheat with whole milk
L: 1/2 ciabatta dipped in carrot and coriander soup, rice cake with philly, 1/2 nectarine
S: breadstick
D: Loads of pasta in tomato, pepper and onion sauce with cheese, played with a plum but didn't eat much.

We have always done BLW and Helen is still a great big porker!! However she can't crawl yet so I reckon we probably need to start spoonfeeding:wacko:

:haha::haha:

Elliott still refuses to do his own shoe laces up and whip the hoover around for me. Must be the BLW  lol

Adam has had:

b: 1/2 Weetabix & milk, whole banana, raisins
l: slice of toast with butter & Marmite, baked beans (first time I'd offered them, though he's had some from OH - he ate each one individually), a Humzinger, 1/4 of an apricot, raisins
s: a home-made drop scone with peanut butter, 1/2 a rice cake with peanut butter, licked the peanut butter from the other 1/2 of rice cake
d: rejected lasagne  so offered baked beans, a ham sandwich and an apricot and he all the beans and half the sandwich and apricot, plus quite a lot of plain yogurt from pl spoons and a Humzinger. (I wasn't sure if he was just not hungry, not wanting the lasagne, but he must have been)

just don't know if it's the right thing, to offer other foods when he rejects the main meal... it's not like the ham sandwich, beans, etc, was part of *our* meal, but I didn't want to leave him sitting crying (he cried over the lasagne  ). I was thinking he'd just developed an aversion to spoons because it's been weeks since he's taken a pl spoon of anything, and he doesn't seem to have a clue what to do with it himself, but then he surprised me by accepting his yogurt tonight from pl spoons... but he won't have anything else from a spoon. and he just won't even attempt to eat anything at all sloppy with his hands. but then I didn't think he'd want the beans (at lunch I offered them ON the toast) but he picked each one off! it's not easy. I want him to eat beef but he hasn't had any in ages. must try burgers again. *sigh*

Today Elliott ate -

B - Porridge with strawberries and raspberries
S - Box of raisins
L - Pasta with red pesto, philli, tomatoes and cheese. He was not very interested by the actual pasta twirls so he also had rice cakes and philli. He then had a banana
S - 2 apple rice cakes, breadstick and a teeny taster of carrot cake
D - Smoked cod with mashed potato, corn on the cob (which he loved), carrots and a parsley and lemon sauce. I was very impressed with how he gobbled back the fish and ate the mash with his hands. He absolutely loved chewing ont he corn on the cob. For desert he had a Rachel's banana yoghurt (which was yummy, I had to stop myself helping him eat it)

He then had a bottle before bed, I picked him and he threw up everywhere  All his fish, mash, sweetcorn and milk was everywhere. He seemed fine but this has happened a few times now.

B: shreddies, blueberries - chucked the raspberries again
S: banana
L: mashed potato, grated cheese, ham & chucked the tomato
D: chicken & veg madras - picked out chicken and also ate 2 pieces of summer squash and 3 rings of carrot, rice - about 4 teaspoons eaten. Managed amazingly well with his spoon & fork -very proud :) raisins, half a frozen innocent tube

MJ - if g doesn't eat I tend to offer a bigger "dessert" - fruit, Greek yog, sometimes cheese & crackers but try not to offer an alternative main... I don't want him thinking I'll always change his meal. Then again I don't want him gorging on puds eithr! Difficult to know what's best!

MJ - Elizabeth is currently insisting on eating everything, everything with her hands. Including yoghurt. Some weeks she'll use a spoon, others - she just can't be bothered with it!

Poppy - :( Responded in our SS thread - could it be bouncing? Has happened to Lizzie before? Hope little man is ok :hugs:

Today...

B: Dorset cereals raspberry and cranberry porridge, shreddies, pear
Sn: Smoothie stick, rice cakes
L: Ham, mushroom and leek quiche, pasta, courgettes, home made egg custard and plum (surprise!) tart.
Sn: Spelt biscuit
D: 'Cottage Pie' (blitzed it together tonight, as she wasn't into it in layers) with courgettes and broccoli. Fruit jelly, refused yoghurt.
Sneaky snack: chocolate button!

On a side note, I bought Little Stars yogs (as they are half price in Sainsburys), but we'll be back on Rachels next week. They are expensive - but the taste is so much nicer...and the sugar/salt content so much less!

Today Bun had:

B: Oatmeal (full adult portion!!)
S: Sweet Potato Pancake
L: Chicken Egg Congee with shredded ginger
D: Quinoa pasta O's, hidden veggie sauce, chicken broccoli meatball

Yesterday Jacob had
B: bitesize weetabix - He loves these and eats anything from 15-20 which is apparantly equal to 1.5-2 weetabix!!!
L: Half a pitta with carrot and homous, he wont eat carrots unless they are in something more flavoursome.
Innocent smoothie tube
D: Boiled potato (quite a large one), 2 fish fingers, 1 baby corn offered sprouts too which he has eaten before but wasn't interested this time.
Half a strawberry, a couple of chunks of pear, 1 grape and some pineapple
