BLW - what did your LO eat today?

George ate loads yesterday!! Bit too much bread but we were out for a picnic :)

b: a bowl of shreddies - a full size adult bowl just like mine!!!! Half a slice of milk roll bread with fruit spread.
s: about 10 organix carrot stix
l: 2 slices of milk roll bread with cashew nut butter & 1 slice with philadelphia, raisins, organix oaty bar
d: shepherds pie (homemade), greek yogurt, blueberries & some dried rice krispies.

Today he was at nursery & apparently ate everything offered with gusto! I believe he had
b: weetabix & fruit
l: fish, baked potato, carrot & cauliflower
d: vegetable soup, bread, yogurt & raisin

Jacob loved his food today too
Breakfast - porridge and toast

snack - half organix apple and raspberry bar (bit too crumbly for him)

Lunch - crackerbread with hummous, cucumber and tomato folllowed by mixture of fruit - chunk of watermelon and pear, 1 strawberry and 2 blueberries

Dinner - mashed potato, fish finger, broccoli and carrots (he usually eats his mash with a spoon but he was having none of that today and he was shovelling it in at lightening speed with his hands) followed by more strawberries

All JJ ate today was a bit of watermelon - first time tasting it and he loved it. I'm so proud he's taking to it and enjoying food (and especially fruit! - OH thought he wouldnt like 'healthy stuff' as he doesnt like it haha WRONG)

Not worried tho that thats all hes had today as hes just getting started and I don't want to overwhelm him with food. We'll get there.

All your LOs are doing so well - I imagine them sitting eating their meals and its so sweet thinking of them enjoying their food iykwim

Oooh haven't done this in a few days..

Yesterday - B Ready Brek
L English Muffins with hummus/dairylea, banana & yoghurt
D Red thai curry with potatoes, carrots and leek (LOVED!)

Today - B Ready Brek
L Leftover Red thai curry lol and a banana
D Home-made pesto and tomato tart & yoghurt

I really need to buck up on brekkie ideas. He has ready brek most morning but he does love it - I tried him with weetabix loads and he likes it a bit but won't finish it. I might add some fruit in tomorrow...

Today Jj had:
B: scrambled egg (but discovered then hes allergic to eggs)
Then he had some kiwi later and thats it so far...

Yesterday Thomas had:
Breakfast: Ready brek and a banana
Lunch: Rice cakes spread with hummous, pieces of tomato, pieces of avocado, two dried apricots
Dinner: Veg curry and rice (didn't manage to eat very much rice but was definitely interested), mandarin orange, plum (didn't eat)

Today Jacob had
B- apple and blueberry cereal (cow and gate one on pre loaded spoon)
Snack - slice toast as we were out for cuppa
L - cheese and tomato omelette and some fruit after
D - vege finger, sweet potato mash with carrots, baby corn and green beans (very messy as he has recently decided he'd rather use his hands to eat mash than use a pre loaded spoon lol) yoghurt to follow

Today:

B: Ready Brek with banana/strawberry/something fruit puree pouch (wasn't sure about using this, but it was bought for me and I'm already worried about his fruit intake as it is)
L: Toasted english muffin with dairylea & sugar-free jam, yoghurt and pear
D: Mashed potatos, carrot, peas & cauliflower & suck of some chicken (first night out eating at my mums and I have never been so proud!). Also had the *teeniest* taste of vanilla ice cream, which was very well received :)

Thomas ate loads today.
Breakfast: Oatibix and cow's milk, half an orange
Lunch: Microwaved sweet potato and cottage cheese, courgette, banana
Snack: Melon, mandarin orange, ricecake
Dinner: Pasta with spinach sauce (spinach, onion, garlic, sour cream, a bit of cream cheese, and nutmeg - all mixed together with the blender) - went down extremely well - he ate a whole (small) plateful! Cooked apple pieces.

Oooh I like the sound of that spinach sauce! I'm going to add it to my 'list' :D

I finished it off with a squeeze of lemon juice - and gave Thomas the lemon to suck - the look on his face was a picture! But he liked it - kept going back for more, LOL.

Ruby had...
b - Shreddies as usual...
l - slice of toast with fruit spread, a fromage frais
snack - half a plum biscuit, some ham (random!)
dinner - most of an adult sized slice of homemade ham and mushroom pizza, lots of chopped papaya

Adam had...
b: mini shredded wheats with milk (12) and raspberries (15) (husband is slightly obsessed with counting them)
l: bits of cheese sandwich, mini box of raisins, some cucumber sticks and raspberries (4)
d: 3/4 thin slice of ham (he LOVED it but there's 0.25g salt in each slice so I didn't offer more), a little bit of cold roast beef, 1/2 a medium baked potato, small piece of french bread with unsalted butter, creme fraiche, tomato slice, some cucumber, and lots of strawberries (about 12)

Today Jacob had
B - bite size weetabix approx 7 or 8 and 4 blueberries
L - wholemeal fruit muffin toasted with cheese spread - 1 large strawberry
S - slice galia melon
D - lentil, chickpea and spinach curry with mini pitta

B: ready brek (again!!!!!)
L: toast with a bit of dairylea, apple and yoghurt
D: mashed potatoes, carrots & cauliflower and a fish finger.

Btw are fish fingers ok? They were birds eye and I had them left over in the freezer... I would prefer to make my own but today was hectic.

B: a big helping of bitesize shredded wheat (about 9 or 10 of them I think), mandarin orange (he's really loving these at the moment), natural yoghurt

L: Baked beans on toast (the low salt variety), half a banana

D: A bit of salmon fillet, carrots and parsnips, one and a half potato croquettes

Jenny - I think fishfingers are OK, not sure about the salt content though, but I'd imagine they are probably fine in moderation, similar to bread for example. My view is that once we give our LO's healthy low-salt food the majority of the time, the odd bit of convenience food isn't going to do any harm. I haven't given LO fishfingers though because I don't like them.

Question - what do other people do about introducing foods to LO that they don't like? I have a very strong aversion to liver and couldn't imagine giving it to LO for that reason. But should I be making the effort so that he doesn't hate it too? I did give him a bit of tinned tuna which I also hate - and he loved it.

Adam had...
b: mini shredded wheats, a pear, a satsuma
l & snack (was bitty as we were out): little bit of ham & cheese sandwich, a large ricecake with creme fraiche, a few Organix carrot sticks, a couple of pieces of nectarine
d: pasta with creme fraiche, mushrooms, broccoli, grilled courgette, grilled chicken and cucumber slices; yogurt and strawberries

B - Shreddies
L - Slice of cheese and tomato on toast, chopped papaya, half a tin of mandarin oranges, a humzinger (yay! last time I offered a humzinger it was hurled across the room)
Snack - little piece of sponge cake
D - 2 salmon fish fingers (all fish eaten, most of outside left) some sweet and normal potato wedges, mandarins and a humzinger again

Polaris - I offer Ruby food that I don't like - I'm not a fan of fruit in general really but offer it to Ruby every day, she loves it. Other than that I like everything so hard to say.

Jenny - fish fingers aren't too bad salt wise. However Ruby doesn't like the coating so they're even lower in salt then!

B: shreddies, mandarin oranges
L: Philadelphia on rice cakes, organix carrot stix, raisins, banana
d: about a third of a jacket potato, tuna, sweetcorn, Greek yoghurt, raspberries

M2bC - what are Humzingers?

Humzingers are little sticks of dried fruit, I got them in Sainsburys, they're 100% fruit, no added sugar, you get a box of 10, different flavours. :)
