Hi everyone!
We are starting BLW on Monday with my LO; he'll be a few days shy of 6 months old.
I've been reading through the threads on here for weeks now, and wondered if someone could help me plan my menu for next week please?
I've read the Gill Rapley book.
I was thinking along the lines of:
B: shreddies & whole milk, banana
D: sandwich? Maybe Philadelphia & ham? Fromage frais & fruit
T: chicken, asparagus, broccoli & cauliflower

How does this sound? Obviously, I can't do the same every day, so any advice would be great.
Also, what bread/butter/yoghurts etc are best?
Thanks.
xx

They all sound fab! Just don't put too much pressure on yourself to stick to meals for the first while. My LO didn't eat a breakfast until about 8 or 9 months. I remember getting so frustrated that LO wasn't eating a set meals x number of times a day but it takes a long while for them to settled into that routine :)

Now of course, he goes mental for breakfasts, and in fact has two! :haha:

As for yoghurts, I started with Little Stars fromage frais. I also used the Ella's Kitchen fruit purees when we were out and about and gave him the spoon to use himself.

Your menu sounds yummy! Maybe instead of a sandwich you could offer it as toast with the philly and ham, my lo still struggles a little with bread thats not toasted as it goes quite sticky when trying to eat it, she scoffs toast much easier!
I offer lo whatever bread we have at the time - white or brown, sometimes homemade, which I prefer as I know exactly whats in it. I use normal butter and I buy Little Yeo/Rachels/natural full fat yogurt x

I agree with bambino156 about the sandwiches, Ruby gagged massively on sandwiches for aaaaages.

Yog - I give Ruby whatever no added sugar brand I can find in the shops. Usually Sainsburys kids, Rachels Organic, Plum, or Little Yeo (the small pots.) You can also mix natural yog with fruit or just leave it plain.

Today Ruby had / is having: (she's at the CM today)

B - Quaker oat crisp and raisins
L - Breadsticks, cheese chunks, 1 x scotch pancake with fruit spread, Little Yeo yog
D - Chicken Korma, homemade naan bread, papaya, dried strawberries

today was:

B: shreddies and yoghurt, half a banana
L: at a vegetarian restaurant, ate loads: a veg pakora, a small veg spring roll, two big artichoke raviolis, some butter beans, small mozzarella ball, a few apple crisps, choc pudding.
S: baked potato with cottage cheese, half a yoghurt rice cake, half a fruit stick

B: baby weetabix mixed with breastmilk and blueberries
L: pitta bread, cucumber, hummus, avacado and a satsuma
D: falafels, rice cakes, tomatoes, cucumber and 4 strawberries

Hi there am looking for some breakfasts as daughter is blw, i have noticed some brilliant ones on here, the weetabix with puree sounds great, is it literally what it says and do you just leave it on the tray for them to munch away? thanks

I offered breakfast cereals in a little milk to soften it but keep it easy to pick up. My LO also likes oatmeal and congee for breakfast. When we first started BLW, he loved toast (still does!). My LO doesn't eat dairy, but other babies like yoghurt and fruit as well. xx

This was only day 2 of weaning so not eaten, just played with and sucked on...

B - porridge and banana
L - roast chicken, baby corn, green beans
D - didn't happen
