BLW - what did your LO eat today?

Hi just starting out blw as missy decided she no longer wants purees- can I give her anything? Bit worried about choking etc

hi emzky,

she can generally have anything, but be careful with salt content (they should have no more than 1g a day before 1),, & avoid nuts (due to choking), honey (allergies) & shellfish (ditto).

good luck!

xx

Thank you- also, how do you deal with the mess? I mean she gets into a state when i feed her anyway- any tips?

i've got some long sleeved bibs which collect most of the food on, & if it's really messy, then i strip her down to her nappy for the meal time, & often do bath time right afterwards! she does get very messy! i also have a big plastic sheet under her high chair, though she drops less these days.

i've stuck a picture of quite a typical bella mess...she likes to put food on her head, in her hair, on her face, in her ears... ;) it's all good fun!

xx

Maria only ate buckwheat bread and nectarine today as she wasn't in the mood for evening but yesterday she stole some of my salad, was fun sharing the bowl with her even if the food ended up half eaten and put back in the bowl.

 Sorry...

Posted this as a seperate thread :)

Today Maria shared some watermelon and nectarine with me for breakfast, had a breadstick as a snack later on (she actually bit the end off, her tooth comes in handy!) and stewed beef chunks (just the meat not the stew liquid as she's not very good with spoons yet) and brocolli for dinner.

breakfast - frosties and a banana

lunch - cheese and salad cream sandwich, quavers and a slice of summer fruits cheesecake

snack - a banana and chocolate biscuit, oh gave him some of his innocents smoothie

dinner - sheppards pie with carrots and peas mixed in, sweede mash and potato on top, cheese and brown sauce

dessert - strawberry icecream cone

Breakfast-nectarine and watermelon
Lunch-avocado on toast, blueberries and watermelon
Dinner-tomato and tuna pasta and apple sauce

Im finding it really hard to offer a variety and keep the salt down. Im running out of ideas. She has all pretty bland stuff, vege soup, yogurt, weetbix, cheese, toast with avocado or banana, fruit and dinner is usually meat and veges. I dont give her much of what we have for dinner as we have alot of jarred sauces etc, i just dont have the time to cook it all from scratch :(

Help!!!

yesterday she had banana on toast for breakfast and roast chicken and cucumber for dinner

Noo is not really on 'meals' as we onlyt started this week but yesterday she had 2 x buttered toast soldiers (sucked), half a strawberry (face pulled but ate anyway), a piece of banana (gagged on) and a chunk of apple (not eaten).

Maria doesn't get proper meals either as she's usually in bed by the time we eat dinner but she gets cold leftovers the next day (if there's any left) and then something to munch on whenever I eat so she doesn't get grumpy (or I share my food with her if its something she can eat).

I'm one of these terrified of choking mothers so am taking it reeeaaaal slow LOL.

Maria gags a lot but I've learnt not to panic and she always sorts herself out. She choked once on lettuce cos she couldn't get it out herself so I pulled it out and haven't given it to her since (apart from when she stole some from my salad bowl, but she was fine with it then)
