BLW - what did your LO eat today?

Adam has had...

b: mini shredded wheats, 1/2 a satsuma, 3 prunes

l: satsuma, half a nectarine, box of raisins, a breadstick, a teeny bit of a cheese sandwich

d: 2 small slices of roast chicken breast, small piece homemade garlic bread, couple of roast courgette slices, tomato, cucumber, 3 tbspns yogurt, a whole banana

snack: grapes

B: Porridge, half a slice of toast with pure fruit spread
L: Leftover curry, ricecake, avocado (refused although he normally loves it), pear
D: Aubergine and tomato bake, garlic bread, lettuce (a bit puzzled by the lettuce and gagged on it a bit), banana
Snack: Melon, 2 breadsticks

Ruby had a hungry day!
Shreddies
Peanut butter and cream cheese sandwich (1 slice of bread) chopped pear, 2 mini blueberry muffins.
1 slice of toast with 2 scrambled eggs, chopped pear, oat biscuit

Sophia has eaten like a horse today
breakfast: 7 mini shredded wheat, half a punnet of strawberries  an apricot a banana and a quater of an orange!

snack: half a crumpet and some rasins

Lunch 3/4 piece of bread with cream cheese, some cucumber, little bit of cheese, handful of blueberries, quarter of a slice of ham

dinner - Lamb Rogan Josh with rice and naan bread (first time with anything stronger than korma and she LOVED it! ate 8 pieces of lamb and a fair amount of rice)

no wonder she is jumping up the centiles!

Wow Shiv, your LO certainly loves her grub!! Isn't it great to see them really enjoying tucking into something?

Thomas had:

B: Porridge, half a satsuma, and lots of blueberries!! I was so proud - first time that he's successfully eaten anything that small that needs pincer grip! He loved them!

L: Pasta with homemade tomato sauce, avocado (refused again), two strawberries

S: mini rice cake

D: vegetable couscous with mushrooms, red pepper, and baby sweetcorn. I cooked it in advance so the couscous kind of set into lumps so he was able to pick it up and eat it. Pear, half a satsuma, one strawberry.

Haven't done this in a few days...

B: Ready Break & Raspberries
L: Pancake strips, tomatoes and strwaberries and half a yoghurt
D: Ratatouille (hated - think it was the slimy texture), so I had to rush in to try something else. He ended up with a toasted english muffin, dairylea on some, home-made pesto on some, and tomatoes again.

He is definitely refusing the PL spoon, so I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board with finger foods, as he hates plain food - and I can't come up with any interesting finger foods!

Does he like pasta? That is my fall-back easy to manage food for Thomas as he loves it. It's good because you can do all sorts of different sauces to go with it.

I'm doing pasta on Sunday! Was a bit scared before, but I got a bag of really big fusili so am now a bit excited about trying it :)

(Would love to start tomorrow but we're going to a BBQ. Need to bring foods I know that will definitely work!)

For anyone that has made their own pizza, do you make your own base or just buy a ready-made base from the supermarket?

I really want to make my own pizza but I'm scared of makin the base as I'm rubbish at precise quantities!

I would just buy a ready made base personally, I have made pizza base before but it is a bit fiddly and would put me off doing it. I can't see that using a ready-made pizza base is any different from using shop-bought bread. In other words, home-made is better in an ideal world but it's fine to use ready made once you watch overall salt intake for the day.

We tend to just do mini pizzas using a pitta bread as a base - easy peasy!

Today was slightly better:

B: Apple slices & little bit of ready brek
L: Feta & Spinach omelette (still hates eggs), a Muller jelly thing, banana, a few carrot puff things.
D: Little bits of homemade burger (we were at a BBQ - LOVED!), potato from potato salad (I sucked most of the dressing off), tomatoes. He did us very proud at this, when I was so worried about him becoming stressed out in front of lots of people. Phew :)

G's been a bit rubbish at eating the last few days - today was ok quantity wise but a bit rubbish quality wise - bad mummy :/

B : half his bowl of porridge
L : an adult breadstick, 3 slces of baguette with Boursin, an olive, some feta and a bit of gingerbread man (we had a picnic in the park :) ) he refused cherry tomatos  and banana which was less of a surprise.
D : quarter of a slice of toast with dairylea, half a tin of baked beans (reduced sugar/salt type), 2 new potatoes, a bite of leftover roast chicken, raspberries

Today Jacob had
B: About 7 mini raisin wheats
L: 1 slice of toast with some bacon (first time he had this as we were out for lunch) S: 1 strawberry and 2 or 3 blueberries
D: spinach and lentil curry with cous cous and yoghurt

I really have to make a veggie or lentil curry this week. I've been dying for one for ages now!

B: Didn't really have one for some reason but he sucked on some toast and was happy enough.
L: Pasta in tomato sauce with carrots & sweet potato.
D: Pizza toast, cherry tomatoes and a peach yoghurt.

Jenny we love the lentil curries they are one of Jacob (and ours) favourites and so quick and easy to whip up, apart from chopping the onions though as I cry buckets every time
What do you put on your pizza toast, do you just use tomato puree?

I do my own pizza and find it dead easy! You just need make sure you allow the time for it to rise.

225g strong white bread flour
1/2 a 7g sachet of fast action yeast
1 tbsp olive oil
150ml warm water

Mix the flour and yeast
make a well and pour in the oil and water
Mix to a dough (start off with a spoon then use your hands to bring it together)
You want a soft but not sticky dough. Add more flour if too wet and more water if too dry.
Knead by hand until you have a smooth, slightly springy texture.
Pop into an oiled bowl and cover with clingfilm and leave in a warm place until doubled in bulk (1-1.5 hours)
Knock the air out on a floured surface and roll out thinly, place onto a greased pizza dish / ovenproof plate, and prick the surface.
Add toppings and bake at 220c for about 12 mins.

:happydance:

Ruby had today....

Shreddies for breakfast
Roast tomato hoummous on toast, natural yoghurt with a tiny bit of honey for lunch
Some organix cheese puffs for a snack
Chicken korma, homemade naans and rice for dinner - she LOVED it!
(naans stupidly easy and quick to make btw)
