Back to myself today thank god!!

B: Readybrek, three quarters of a banana
L: Rice cake with cream cheese, a little bit of fruit scone, 3 strawberries, half a satsuma (We had a picnic lunch in the park, it was lovely and Thomas really enjoyed it)
S: Lots more strawberries (about 6 or 7), lots of grapes (maybe about 10)
D: Couscous with babycorn, courgettes, red pepper, onion, garlic, fresh mint and coriander. Natural yoghurt with a little bit of pure fruit spread (felt guilty because we were having Brunch icecream, LOL)

Jenny - apparently babies actually need a higher proportion of fats in their diet than adults so fried foods and creamy foods are not as bad for them as they are for us. And they need the full-fat versions of milk, yoghurt, etc, until they are at least two. I guess you don't want to give them all the time so that they don't develop too much of a taste for them, but definitely no harm to give the odd portion of deep fried food.

My first time posting here - you guys have given me loads of things to think about feeding my LO -thanks!

So today we had......drum roll please.....

A suck on several bits of slippy apple (damn stuff kept jumping out her grip, it was fascinating watching her cope) and also spent some time mashing up and sucking a rice cake with humous.

This is a follow on from the breakfast delight yesterday of sucking the hell out of a strawberry! Her first ever 'real' food!

This is fun! For both me and her! We will be trying out some veggies tomorrow :happydance:

Today was the first day that gabriella has ever eaten breakfast :happydance:

She had:

5am Breastfeed
8am 2 scotch pancakes - toasted, and half a banana
11.30am quarter of a cheese and onion sandwich (we were out and I thought she was hungry, but she didnt really like it - shop bought sandwiches are not her favourite!)
12.30pm 1 full weetabix with milk warmed up, a full big orange, a yoghurt
5.45pm 2 sausages and quite a lot of mashed potato
8pm 6oz of milk

She really doesnt take much milk for 8 months old :nope: but eats lots of proper food so I think she makes up for it that way.

L: half a ricecake with cream cheese, half of my toasted cheese, ham and tomato sandwich (we were out for lunch), lots of grapes and strawberries, half a satsuma (he ate LOADS at lunch today which is normally a picky meal for him)

D: Chicken curry, coconut egg curry, green lentil dhaal, rice (he can't manage rice yet though), a bit of poppadom, lots of mint yoghurt dip (We had OH's mum over for dinner so that's why we had so many different dishes, LOL)

Polaris, Thomas eats really well! Jacob's not overly keen on bananas or broccoli but he loves baby corn

Thanks - he really really loves his food! OH was saying at dinner time today that he will probably grow up to be a food critic or a chef - he's only half joking! Thomas just gets so excited about mealtimes, they are some of the happiest times of the day for him I think. He's a pleasure to cook for because there is very little that he won't eat so far! I know they do tend to go through fussy stages though so I am expecting that but hopefully he will always keep this positive relationship with food.
