You either have to wait for them to find their own way out. Or, and this is what my sister does, stick his finger up his own nose.

yeah, we use it regularly, but often need to use the saline drops to loosen the mucus first.
I dip an earbud in water to moisten the tip and then remove it from his nose. He quite likes it!
I used to kinda massage the outside of their nostril to move it down enough to get it. If that makes sense.
Now they have big enough noses (months of poking about have worked their magic) and I can get them easy.
