Booking flights for after baby's born?

We have just found out that we are going to a wedding abroad next September. All being well the baby will be 3+ months old at the time. There are some flights available now and I know DH is keen to book sooner rather than later in case the prices go up. We will probably wait a few months, but I think waiting until June will be far too late.

Does anyone know if it is possible to book flights before the baby is born, and before we know name, DOB, etc?

Hiya I booked ours before my son was born they said you just put baby no name and a birth date of that day and once they are born you ring up and alter name and birth date x
