Hi ladies, i must be the worst mum on this forum. I think (actually i know) that for the last few weeks i have been feeding my LO so wrong. No wonder she is conspitated.

Here goes. How many bottles in 24 hrs (Back of the apatmil for LO ages (7 & half months says 4 bottles) Now i am a dope shouldn't be aloud to have a child.
Don't know what i was thinking. Just want to get reassurance on this
Ok little LO is on her solids (hit & miss some days but anyways)
Bottles
7-7:30 a.m 7oz bottle
12-12:30 p.m. 7 oz bottle
4:30-5 p.m. 7 oz bottle (maybe will only take 5 oz)
7:30-8 p.m. 7 oz bottle
THAT TO ME IS 4 BOTTLE IN A 12 HOUR PERIOD
I AM RITE.
She doesn't wake during the nite (touch wood) and hasn't since she was 6 weeks old. So her next bottle is at 7-7:30 a.m. the next morning

Please help ladies to reassure me that i am rite in saying thats 4 bottle in a 24 hrs period. No wonder my poor girl is constipated.
Silly stupid mother :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Hey hun, my LO is only 5weeks old, but I'm using Aptimil, and I dont really go by the amounts on the back of the tub at all- my little man takes much more than what it says a 5week old should!
I don't know about the guides for 7months though, sorry.x

Hi honey - I do 3 bottles and my wee man is 8 months old and takes 7oz at each feeding the first being at 7.30am and the last at 7.30pm. He wasn't constipated though but I also gave him milky puddings. I was really concerned by milk intake but health visitor n books said he only needed 18-21oz when eating 3 good meals a day (which he does now) hope that helps and you aren't a stupid mummy at all!! :) xx

My 7 month old has 4 x 6oz in a 12 hr period. One at 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm. He doesn't always finish them either. I don't think you're a stupid mummy or if you are I am too! He has 3 meals a day too. Ignore the box and give LO what he wants I say! Do you think you're giving him too much then?

Thanks for the reply girls. My head is just so wrecked worring about LO all the time.
So maybe i should changed her routine to:
7-7:30 Bottle/Breakfast
11-12 p.m. Bottle plus yogurt or toast
2:30-3:30 p.m. More finger food
5:30-6:30 p.m. Scrambled egg & toast
7:30-8 p.m. Bottle & bed
What do ye think of this

Ignore the box, and go by what your LO wants. If they're on solids, offer water/fruit juice with meals as the solids can cause LOs to get bunged up. The extra fluids should get things moving. A bowl of Weetabix can also help

Personally I've always seperated out the meals from the bottles too. Earl's routine at 7-8 months was:

6am bottle when woke - 7oz
7.30ish - breakfast of cereals and fruit juice
8am - nap for 1 hour
9am - bottle when woke - 5oz
11am - lunch of finger food snacks and water
11.30 - nap
1pm - bottle 7oz
Before nap a snack of some fruit
2pm - nap
about 4pm - bottle 5oz
5pm - teatime of veggies/pasta etc and water
6pm - bath then bottle 7oz and bedtime

around 2am - 5oz

disregard the tin- i was never on what they suggested- she would eat less per bottle but have more bottles- as long as she is happy and gaining weight you are doing fine.

As soon as they start solids it all changes anyway depending on how much they eat

Is she on any solids at all right now? Some solids will cause constipation when you introduce them and things like pears, peaches, peas, and prunes will help with that if she is weaned :)

Your bottle routine sounds fine to me, I would honestly go by what she wants. If she was hungry she'd be waking in the night.

My kids have always taken in way less than the amounts they were supposed to have (DD was only on 2 bottles by your LO's age  she refused to take more!!). As long as they are gaining weight/growing, happy and energetic, and having plenty of dirty diapers my motto is now to not worry about it :flower:

IGNORE the tin, if baby's hungry theyre hungry.

It says 4 bottles in a 24 hour but they would "expect" a baby of that age to sttn so that would make it a 12 hour period anyway

Kaiden wakes at 7am and has 5 bottles from then till bedtime at 7pm. He's not weaning yet though.

Jackson used to have about the same but also used to wake in the night and have 2 bottles! So he used to have 7 bottles in 24 hours.

If baby's constipated try water, orange juice or prune juice (diluted)

Xx
