I just wondering when you girls have started feeling braxton hicks contractions, if you have.

I'm 26 weeks, almost 27 and sometimes my belly feels really stretched to it's limit and tight and it cramps...I don't know if this is what I am feeling or not.

I was also wondering about stretchies :sad1: I have them horrible on my hips down the back (near the top) of my thighs and my boobs; I was just wondering if you girls know of any miracle creams that make them disappear? It's so depressing!

Please tell me you have some answers? :hugs:

I started feeling BH at 26-27 weeks, they are a tighenting across your abdomen, usually lasting around 15-30 seconds.

No magical cream gets rid of them unfortunately, although they will fade in time.

I'm pretty sure that's what braxton hicks are hun, I've been getting them for a few days now but I only notice them at night time, as for strechies I wish there was a miracle cream but unfortunately stretch marks are scarring of the skin, however having said that I use bio oil and if you use it regularly after a while it really improves appearance and you can hardly see them after a while :flower:

I haven't had any Braxton Hicks! But I do get proper contraction, have done since going into labour at 32 weeks, they don't hurt alot though, so I'm guessing they feel the same.

Nothing really helps stretchmarks, but they will face. Drinking plenty of water & exfoliating does help though.

x

I've never had Braxton Hicks.

But, with stretchmarks I use Cocoa Butter and I'm about to switch to something new they came out with and it's called Mederma! & I guess it's supposed to be really good.

I feel ya on the stretchmarks, I'm just praying I don't get anymore. Ahhh,
xx

i dont think ive ever had one...i get period like cramps sometimes (quite often actually lol) but never had any "tightenings"? x

i only got stretchmarks AFTER i started applying cream...there was none before that and my belly hasnt really grown since so no idea why...was about 26 weeks when i got my first and since i stopped using cream they havent come up...weird! x

Apparently in order to stretch without leaving stretchmarks you need to be well hydrated so drink plenty of water... There are no miracle creams, creams only cover the skin whereas stretch marks occur deeper down. Drink plenty of water, and massage your skin well and hope for he best... (Don't want to jinx myself but I've followed the above advice and at 5 days overdue I don't have any stretchmarks yet).

I got my first BH around 32 weeks, but I'd been feeling them before that but didn't know what they were until I spoke to MW.

As for stretchies, I'm just using lots of bio oil and cocoa butter, it won't get rid of them but they'll eventually fade :) x

Thanks girls. I knew the stretchies really don't go away completely but I wasn't sure if there was a certain cream that made them look tons better.

I use cocoa butter but mine stinks lol, I'm looking for different and bio oil as you girls are suggesting.

Thanks again :) hope you all are having a great day :hugs:

Not far enough along for BH but for stretch marks I use a lotion called Maderma (Mederma?) and its in a blue package with purple writing and it is proven to significantly reduce the redness and smooth out the texture of stretch marks within 12 weeks. It seems soooo long but totally worth it.

i got my first BH at about 30 weeks, they werent too bad :)

as for stretch marks, i put coco butter on religiously and still ended up with them all over my bum/thighs by about 32weeks, avoided them all on my bump until about 38weeks and now they're spreading right around the front of my tummy :(

i think i'll try bio oil after birth, but like others have said they'll fade in time :flower:
