Breast Feeding Doll?

I wouldn't buy the doll for my daughter but only because she could just use a normal doll to 'breastfeed' with. If she specifically asked for one I might and TBH if she wanted to 'breastfeed' her doll I would be a very proud mummy :) xx

I'm all for little girls pretending to be mommies but I think this doll might just be a little too far...I agree that if my child wanted to pretend to breastfeed or mimic it she could do it with a normal doll...I definitely wouldnt buy her a breastfeeding doll to encourage it but if she wanted to pretend with her doll than I wouldnt worry about it as it is natural to breastfeed I just dont think she needs a "special" doll to do it with!

weird doll...why do u need a doll that breast feeds? jus use a normal doll...

if this doll came with strap on boobs...i'd be worried...because that is sexualisation of young girls...but cunningly covering it up with "breastfeeding" as most mums think telling your daughters about bf'ing is normal and natural..which it is...but we don't need the commercial industry providing our kids with boobs...because that it the same industry that promotes sex, drugs and violence through "childrens" games...

leave teaching children about bf'ing to mothers...and if like one poster said there are no strap on boobs with the doll...its jus a regular doll then isnt it? no harm in it x

That's what I intitially thought, but then when I saw the demo I changed my mind. It's just an apron the girl puts over her head, no breasts on it, just two little flowers as sort of 'nipples' that when you put the baby to it gulps. No strap ons, just a flat apron :)

In two minds about this now...

As a child I never really played with dolls but when playing with other toys and making some of them parents to other toys I usually mimed breastfeeding.
I've always been aware of it and that's why I don't see it as at all sexual now. No adults discouraged or hid it away from me and if I pretended to breastfeed dolls that's fine.

I dont think I like the idea of my child with boobies on her when shes still so young - simply because I think she would want to keep them on all the time to 'be like mummy', rather than just popping on the boobs to feed the baby.

It sounds odd, but I think I would rather give a 'handheld breast' than actually see a child wearing boobs.

Don't think it encourages early pregnancy, thats crazy. That's like saying every girl who enjoys having a doll to play with is going to have a baby early - why does it make a difference the way she 'pretends' to feed it?

That's a demo...I actually think it looks kind of cute, it looks pretend but its a step closer towards breastfeeding :) yeah that's be swayed I think. The strap ons arent strap ons :p

My daughter found that ad very amusing, although she did say "S'fia", she seems to think all babies are her :)

What was the little girl doing smacking the baby on the chest!!!

And I like your reasoning about the little girls playing with dolls.

I probably wouldn't buy this, if she wants to bf her dolly she can just use her regular one. At the moment all she's interested in is dragging it around by it's toes anyway..

LMAO...i hadnt seen the demo before...jus watched it...what a stupid doll...LOL x

Awwww!!!

Don't you know? You're supposed to smack breastfed babies repeatedly on the chest after feeding! :haha::haha:

Dragging it about by it's toes sounds awesome. When I was given baby-dolls I just used to undress them before abandoning them somewhere in the house. Hmmm...hopefully I won't do that with my real baby XD
