Morning ladies and Nij :)

Hope everyone is having a good Monday. Looks like hubby and I have created a little BLW monster after letting her play with some food on Saturday night at my parents. Playing with utensils and toys at her high chair isn't fun anymore and when she sits on my lap, she tries to grab the food off the plate so I guess we'll be letting her play with food a bit more. I guess it's just the natural progression of things- she's been putting everything but food in her mouth for about a month so I guess it was just a matter of time before she realized that we put stuff in our mouths too and want to try it  I had really planned on waiting til 6 mths but have decided this is okay too- she's having fun exploring tastes and textures but she isn't really eating as such (found a lone grain of rice in her diaper so far- sorry, tmi). I may change my tune on BLW is we have any bad experiences like Harry did though. Last night Emma had asparagus, roasted carrots and potatoes and apple sauce for dessert. She only sucked the asparagus (and helped prove my mum wrong about the foods that babies will eat- yay Emma, lol) and licked some applesauce off the tray of the highchair. Here's a video of her with the asparagus and some pics of her playing with food :)

Nij- cute video of Chloe. Did I see you sticking your tongue out at her? No wonder she was giggling through the service :haha:

Aimee- sorry to hear BLW didn't go so well for you. Maybe when Earl gets a bit more manual dexterity/better hand-eye coordination he'll enjoy it more because he'll be able to get the food to his mouth faster  I've noticed that Emma is much more coordinated now than she was a few weeks ago.

LK- enjoy your nephew's birthday party:)

Panda97- hope the move goes well for you! Emma has a Sophie the Giraffe too and it's one of her favourite teething toys. Well worth the money imo :)

Kte- hope you are both feeling better and I'm glad to hear you managed to get an appt. I'll help kick the CM's @$$ too ;)

eswift- sorry no advice- does CC take EBM from a bottle? Just wondering if it's the taste of formula or the bottle she doesn't like...

Maffie- hope Noah feels better :hugs:

Morning ladies and Nij :)

Afternoon Kaites :)

NO (well kinda not, I was shaking my head with my tongue out lol) - to be honest hearing her all histerical was worth looking like a goof for a min or two :) :flower:

Thanks all, yeah this week she wanted us to change our hours come Sept so she could take on another baby who is also a non-waker. She wanted Nij to collect her every afternoon but that would make him

Kaites: He he look at her little tongue! Very cute! Like her butterfly top too :D

Panda: Yeah I heard about these, totally forgot but they always get good ratings!

Make him what? a grumpy git? angry? tired? what?? lol

Dont make a difference come Sept I wanna be well away from her and here

All of the above lol . . . I was going to say 'walking zombie' but obviously got distracted in the office!

Well, doc said there is nothing wrong with me and go back if it continues so get to feel like crap for no reason forever. The only way i can describe how i feel is like being pregnant in first tri (im not pregnant btw) food can be blegh not very exciting, i get tired for no reason, aches in odd places and sometimes i just get to feel sick. joy. I also had to practicall beg for some more fissure cram too.

oh no Chloe in tears . . .

Kaites - That's so cool about Emma and the BLW. We have experimented today and while he is thoroughly capable of hand-to-mouth (was eating hot-x-bun at breakfast this morning no problems) he wants to eat with a spoon....so pre-loaded spoons are the way forward lol. At tea tonight he had carrots and potato puree spoon fed and slices of red pepper and some green beans from our stir fry. He tends to have food in his hands, chomps away on it merrily, and then will take spoon fuls of puree....he actually eats less this way, meals are more peaceful, and he's over the moon lol. He did the same at breakfast as his porridge was on the spoon, hot cross bun in the hand lol. He had some carrot sticks at lunch time and was biting chunks off (think that was more teething though lol) We all eat together and it's actually really good fun lol, although I need a good supply of spoons as obviously they go all over the place lol.

Kte and Nij, hope you're feeling better.

Panda - We're moving to Norwich soon too! No idea when or where lol, will depend on where I get work.

Well we've had a fun packed day. National Railway Museum in the Morning, and then shopping for Earl clothes in the afternoon. We got a Thunderbirds complete box set for £20 too  (We're big kids really! lol). Earl was a star at the NRM and was loving it. big grins nad astonished looks all the way round. loads of good piccies and he even took a nap while we had a cuppa lol. I was so proud of him. We then went to George and got him a load of clothes. Had a £30 budget and for £27 we got 4 x Pyjamas, 2 x sleepsuits, 1 x romper, 1 x tracksuit, 2 x tabards, 1 x trousers  Dead chuffed with all that lol.

Thanks Aimee, will do! Am I right in thinking you said your temps were all over and you still had lots of hair loss too?

Aimee: Earl obviously must like the attention he gets whilst been fed with a spoon!

Great shop!

I bet those steam engines were monstrous for him! Ooo I'm a geek, I love 'em!

I have been given £40 to play with . . . teether teddy for Chloe and then some new clothes for me, my jeans ripped and some new shoes. Bargains of course, like more for my money!!

I'm freaked at the mo, excited but freaked. Nij and I have been given the change to move to Somerset! BIG move, its not really but it is lol. So hence the rambline. (Sorry if I spilt your news Nij who is currently in bed, im a tad giddy). I have live up here all my life but had relatives down there so I'm not too scared as its not really a new place (Oh the GWR for CHloe to ride on! :haha:) Just I need to find a job there too now, Nij can transfer with his work. So giddy, freaked, giddy, freaked! lol

Must go to bed after doing bottles! Have a good nite all :flower:

Evening girls. We had great fun at dinner time. Gave him some spinach, apple and swede. He had 1/2 a pot of that and demolished it in no time. Then he was grizzling so tried him with some milk, nope! Then gave him some pudding....and he took 1/4 pot of mango and banana rice pudding. And wanted more!! Little piggy. Went over to my sisters and saw my nephew and James was ever so funny. He was hungry and tired but wouldn't take his bottle cos he hadn't had his bath! So he had a nap and then as soon as we got home had to chuck him in the bath. Lasted about 30 seconds before he was screaming so it was a quick swish and then out and dressed. Put the bottle in his mouth and he stopped screaming and drank 6oz lol. Now sound asleep so all good. Funny how reliant they get on their routine!

Kte - How exciting. I'm a bit of a move-aholic lol. I moved 15 times before the age of 18 so I'm so used to living out of boxes. We've been here 3 years and Norwich will be my 20th move in 26 years! I'm sure Nij understands the giddiness lol

Re: thyroid - the symptoms I had were - can't eat sweet things, constantly feel cold, dizzy spells/feeling off balance or dazed, hair falling out by the handful, mood swings/feeling 'blue', appetite going up and down randomly, achey joints. They're all very 'post-natal' but they're just too strong and get steadily worse rather than better. I hope you feel better hun and it isn't what I have.

I think you're right about the attention thing lol.....he's loving food-time now lol. Just had breakfast of porridge, toast with cream cheese and slices of apple. Pic below.

LK- Earl is really funny. I try to vary his routine a little to stop him getting too reliant but last night, with all the excitement, I forgot to put the hot water on. Consequently he had to have a T&T instead and lordy, he would not settle lol. Took him a good 10 minutes to calm down cf to about 3-4 mins normally. Bless 'em lol.

Morning girls. Well can't even get hold of FOB cos he has his phone off so rats to him. Not chasing him anymore.

James was a little sod last night. He woke at 3.15am cos he totally skipped a bottle yesterday. Took 2oz and then just wouldn't go back to sleep. Gave in and cuddled him to sleep, put him down and got a drink, by the time I came back from the kitchen he was wide awake again and yelling. Up and down for half an hour putting dummy back in, swaddling, muslin blah blah. Gave in after half an hour and cuddled him to sleep again. Put him down and got into bed....and 5 minutes later he was yelling again! Refused to give in this time so 10 minutes of him grizzling and whinging followed before he finally fell asleep. I was in tears I was that tired and frustrated and boy does it bring home how alone I am right now. Finally was asleep by 5.15am so I was awake from 3.15am to around 5.45am cos took me ages to sleep again. Then he was up for the day at 7.30am. Had 5oz of milk followed by 3tsp of Fruity Porridge. He has just woken up from a nap and is currently having a poo lol. Got to love the faces he makes pmsl.

Unfortunately his cough has gotten worse and he now sounds really chesty so we are off to the drs at 10.50am. Hoping he won't need antibiotics cos its a bit harder to get antibiotics into him than it was for me lol. Anyone know if they will give him Pencillin if I am anaphylactically allergic?

Anyway its a beautiful sunny day so we are going to go for a walk around the park after we go to the drs. Hope everyone enjoys their day :)

Afternoon all,

Chloe was so cute yesterday when she was going to sleep, she was lying on me for her bedtime cuddle and just talking and giggiling away. She sounded like a wood pigeon! We have put her in her travel cot now, I did it on Saturday night. She loves it, so much room, she spinns around in it. This morning I caught her trying to roll over but she kept on getting her sleeping bag caught on the side! :haha: :cloud9:

Thanks for the info Aimee! Sounds very similar but hope it not too, could just be being back full time so soon possibly, I'm going to go back if it keeps up.

WOW that's a lot of moves! Your a pro! I have hardly moved at all, I think that's what scares me the most, I lived in Bradford for 17yrs of my life then moved to our town, rented for a bit then moved to the house I bought in the same town and been there ever since. My Sis is supoprtive, I'm sure my Mum and Dad will be, they practically holiday there every year still. It's funny! The main issue is people, family at the most are 2 hours away and now they will be 6 but it might be better as we go up for a full weekend rather than overnight kind of thing. I just want it to work out!

LK What a let down, ah well, he proven himself useless to you, at least you know, you do right not to chase him!

Lol I am tempted to record Chloe when she poops but I feel too mean! The noises and faces!

Huge :hugs: Hope they can sort his cough, not sure on the medication answer. Enjoy your walk in the park after :D

Morning all, took Noah to the drs and they were happy for him to have his jabs. They said the vomiting his down to the snuffles he has, so to keep feeding him. Jabs went well and the lady was talking to me about doing a breastfeeding course for a local group, so might have a little look into that.

LK hope James is ok. i know how you feel about lack of sleep Noah didnt go to sleep until 4.10am this morning and then i was up at 6am so im feeling a tad rough.

Well James has an upper respiratory infection but they don't give antibiotics for it. They have given him some cough syrup which tastes like Sambuca! Poor kid didn't think much of it. While I was at the drs I booked my first smear....for 2.10pm!! Was expecting it to be in a few weeks lol. Ah well at least it will be over and done with eh!

Maffie: Hope you can catch up on some sleep! :flower: Sounds exciting about doing the BF group! Hope Noah is okay after his jabs too.

LK: Hope the sambuca-like meds give James a speedy recovery.

They are keen on these smears!! Another thing I forgot to mention, had mine and got results back with abnormal cells but I was told to expect that since I just had a baby so got to go back in August for a re-test.

Good Morning!

Hope everyone is having a good day! It's a gorgeous sunny morning here- supposed to be going up to 15 degrees too so I think we'll be spending some time outside. Our clocks changed forward on Saturday and Emma is now sleeping in an extra hour. I'm taking advantage and sleeping in too :) Feels like I've wasted a good bit of the morning but I figure I should enjoy it while it lasts since you never know when her sleeping pattern could change! Not much else new here- went for a walk with hubby before dinner yesterday and discussed the possibility of me working out of the house, openning a home daycare. It's something I'd have to look into in terms of what it takes to become a licensed daycare, but it's looking like a good option financially. Our house is in a perfect location (walking distance to the French immersion school, close to the main commuter route to downtown, etc.), there are horrendous wait lists to find daycare (in other words, the clients are abundant, lol) and I have a few years of teaching kindergarten under my belt so I'm used to tripping over little ankle biters all day. The best reasons are that it would allow me to stay home with Emma and also give her lots of opportunity to interact with other kiddies at the same time. There are downsides to it too but it's something I'm considering...

Aimee- Adorable pic of Earl :) He sounds cute with wanting both finger foods and purees at the same time! We haven't been too adventurous with the food that we're giving Emma yet- just veg, fruits and rice so far. I think I'm still going to wait until she's 6 mths to add anything dairy, wheat and meat (I'm vegetarian anyway but I'm sure hubby will be looking to share the meat eating with her). She ate lunch with us yesterday though and had a ball- homemade veggie soup with plain rice cakes (sesame crackers for us though- they were salted so a no-go for Emma). It was ridiculously messy but fun.

Kte- That's exciting about the move! It's always fun getting to know a new place- kinda like being on vacation for the first little while.

Maffie- That's cool that you were asked to host a BFing workshop. I'm sure you'd be able to offer lots of good insight to new mum. Hope you manage to swing a nap today and Noah feels okay after the jabs :hugs:

LK- :hugs: FOB sounds like a tool. I hope James is feeling better soon!

Emma has just learned a new trick as I've sat here typing- she's learned to press the buttons to play music on her exersaucer with her tongue :dohh:

Kte - How exciting. I'm a bit of a move-aholic lol. I moved 15 times before the age of 18 so I'm so used to living out of boxes. We've been here 3 years and Norwich will be my 20th move in 26 years! I'm sure Nij understands the giddiness lol

Nij is giddier lol I am so excited.

LK - true colours.

Well he definitely loves spinach and mango banana rice pudding lol. Had it for dinner again tonight to finish off the pouch of food and man he loves it. Have a photo of him so once mum is home I will bluetooth it to her and get her to put it on the laptop for me to show you.

I can't believe James is 22 weeks old today. Where the hell has all that time gone?! Feels like yesterday we were heavily pregnant and getting annoyed waiting for them to come out! Crazy huh?

Definately going to look into doing the BFing course, its 6 weeks apparently.

Just cooking dinner I had a strange dream/craving last night in the few hours i got. I dreamt of chicken baked potatoes and cauliflower cheese so making that just now.

Noah still noy napped and jabs have made him cranky.
